Troubleshooting

  • Alarm or Buzzer Sound: If you hear an alarm or buzzer sound, it could indicate that the door is open, a power outage, or a high-temperature alert. Reset the alarm, ensure the freezer is level, and the door closes properly.
  • Continuous Running: The variable speed compressor runs continuously except during the defrost cycle, which is a normal operation.
  • Popping or Cracking Sound: Hearing these sounds when the compressor runs is normal and is typically due to temperature-related expansion and contraction of internal components or refrigerant circulation.
  • Temperature Adjustment: If the temperature is not as preferred, adjust it slightly and allow 24 hours for stabilization. Ensure no food items are blocking the air exhaust ducts for optimal performance.

Getting Started

Set up your freezer

  • Prior to using the freezer, make sure it is located on a floor that is level and strong enough to support it fully loaded. Remove tape and glue residue and clean surfaces with soap and water before turning on the refrigerator.
  • If you are using your freezer in a kitchen, we recommend you set your temperature at 0˚F (-18°C). After 24 hours, you can adjust the control as desired, allowing the temperature to stabilize. Press either + or — to adjust to the desired temperature setting inside the refrigerator. °F/°C allows you to switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C).

Keep your freezer fresh

  • More powerful than baking soda, PureAir® Ultra II™ Air Filter absorbs undesirable smells keeping your freezer fresher for up to 6 months.
  • We recommend replacing your filter at least once every 6 months.

FAQ

What does the alarm or “buzzer sound” mean?

An alarm or “buzzer sound” can mean your door is open, a power outage or HI TEMP has been detected. In most cases, simply acknowledge the alarm by resetting it. However, in the event of a HI TEMP, it’s a good idea to make sure your freezer is level and the door closes freely with a proper seal. Once you close your freezer door, leave it closed so the freezer temperature can decrease and stabilize to the set temperature.

Why does my freezer seem to run continuously?

Your variable speed compressor is designed to run 100% of the time except during the defrost cycle. At times it will run faster, such as after a defrost cycle.

Is it normal to hear a popping or cracking sound when the compressor runs?

Yes, this is normal. These sounds can be caused by the freezer’s internal components as they expand and contract with temperature changes, or by the circulation of the refrigerant that’s used to cool the freezer.

The temperature is warmer or colder than preferred. What can I do?

Simply adjust the temperature by 1 or 2 degrees and allow 24 hours for the temperature to stabilize. Check to ensure food items are not blocking the multi-port air exhaust ducts as this will impact temperature performance.
