FAQ’S
How do I know when my Bonfire is hot enough to cook on?
The Bonfire will glow red when it reaches 500 degrees Fahrenheit. At this point, you can place your food on the grill.
What type of fuel is best for my Bonfire?
We recommend using dry hardwood logs that are 16″ or shorter. Avoid using wet wood as it will not burn as efficiently and may clog the air vents.
How long does it take for my Bonfire to heat up?
It takes approximately 15-25 minutes for the Bonfire to reach 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
How do I clean my Bonfire?
After each use, wait until the unit has completely cooled down then turn the Bonfire over to empty any remaining ash. If you want to wipe it down, use only a dry cloth. Always place your Bonfire in its carrying case and store in a cool/dry location. Due to extremely high temperatures, discoloration of the Bonfire will occur and is considered normal. Stainless steel has increased resistance to this process and will not discolor as quickly as other metals.
Can you burn anything in a Solo Stove?
Fortunately for most Solo Stove owners, these fire pits are great at completely burning down most firewood to powder. If you are doing it right (not overloading your Solo Stove with too much firewood), you’ll get a very hot and efficient burn which will leave you with much less to clean out each time.
Does Solo Stove Bonfire give off heat?
How much heat does a Solo Stove Bonfire give off? The Solo Stove Bonfire fire pit produces a lot of heat. The same design features that make it burn cleaner and more efficiently than other fire pits also make it produce more heat than other fire pits.
What happens if Solo Stove gets wet?
A little moisture on the outside of your fire pit is okay as long as you dry it off with a towel. However, moisture can damage the grate and ashpan inside your fire pit. We recommend using Shelter with your fire pit to keep it safe from the elements.
What accessories come with the Solo Stove Bonfire?
Solo Stove Bonfire Accessory Only Bundle Includes Bonfire Shield, Bonfire Shelter, Fire Pit Roasting Sticks and Fire Pit Tools Great Fire Pit Accessory Bundle.
Is the Solo Stove carrying case waterproof?
The carry case is water proof for temporary exposure to elements (such as carrying your fire pit to your car in the rain). The carry case is not weather proof and will not protect your fire pit if left out in the elements for extended periods of time.
Do Solo Stoves Get Hot on the Bottom?
Yes, your Solo Stove will heat up on the base, which is why it’s essential to use the stand. As we mentioned earlier, these tough 304 stainless steel stands provide distance between your stove base and the deck, and are designed to radiate heat.
Why does my Solo Stove smell like burning plastic?
If your wood stove smells like burning plastic, it may be caused by a piece of plastic too close to the stove, creosote buildup in the flue, paint from the stove or piping curing, burning chemically-treated wood or wood with fungi, or burning accumulated dust.
What kind of wood do you use for Solo Stove?
Hickory. This wood is the champion of the firewood industry, known for putting out high heat and long lasting fires. This wood burns cleanly, so when added to a Solo Stove, smoke shouldn’t be an issue.
