FAQS
How far apart are the mounting holes? I am replacing an older model and mounting holes are 8″ apart.
Odd measurement at 6 and 9/16 in. center to center. This model also has a center position for single screw mounting hanging.
real wood?
Nope, just a couple of plastic inserts.
How accurate are the moon phases, that’s my main concern?
It shows the phases of the moon that are in sync. Full, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8. Accurate enough.
Does this clock have an alarm?
Yes it does. Actually you can set a couple alarms.
Can the La Crosse atomic digital clock with moon phase work without the outdoor senser?
You wouldn’t have the temperature for outside. My guess would be the moon phase would work without the outdoor sensor. The moon phase is based on the calendar therefore it should work.
Can you buy another sensor separately?
Yes, go to La Crosse Technology’s web site, or you can also check Amazon.
Will this clock automatically adjust while traveling through different time zones?
It automatically changes time when we change from daylight savings time and back again.
Does it include the outside sensor?
Yes, with tips on how to pair it to your station alone so other area sensors do not interfere with your station. We have several outside sensors for other devices and they do not bother this one.
What time zones are covered? i need gmt.
You have your choice of 12 hr or 24 hr display. The time is set manually which is all you need using GMT. You may have to correct the time now and then, its not automatic.. How high you place the wind cups depends on which is more important to you. The NWS measures wind speed at thirty feet above ground. Temps are taken at six feet. I just set mine up, its easy to do, has a nice display, and does not interfere with any La Cross clocks you may have.
What direction should the transmitter face to get an accurate signal?
From my exprience doesn’t appear to matter.
How long is the warrenty on this clock?
The standard EIA 90-day warranty which insures the clock against “infant mortality” due to any particular component failure. Nothing more is required as the clock requires no day-to-day handling.
does it have a 24 hour (military time) setting?
Yes it has an option for 12 or 24 hour time.
can this clock be mounted on a wall in an RV?
Yes. It runs on its own internal batteries.
What transmitter is used for a SkyScan atomic clock with indoor/outdoor temp, moon phase, & day& Date, model 87700?
The transmitter for model 513-1417CH-INT is, according to the manual is TX141-Bv3.
Do this have a backlight?
No.
