Unplug machine
-
Roll vacuum over so brush is facing up
-
Remove five screws (3 in front & 2 behind brush) on access plate and lift off
-
Grasp brush at both ends and lift straight up
-
Clean debris from brush and brush ends
-
Inspect the brush and belt for damage
- Brush should spin freely by hand
- Belt should be intact
- If any part is damaged, replacement will need to be ordered

To reinstall brush assembly
- Loop belt onto motor pulley and around brush between belt guard
- Stretch belt and insert brush ends into slots
- Spin brush by hand several times to align belt correctly
- Reinstall access plate and screws

If belt keeps breaking, adjust height of vacuum using the height adjustment knob
- Raising base slightly should help ensure the brush is rotating freely
- If brush still will not turn or belt is breaking, visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us
