  • Unplug machine

    • Check pre-motor filter for debris

      • Pre-motor filter may be cleaned with warm water and mild detergent
      • Let completely dry before putting it back into the machine
    • Check motor duct for suction at intake by turning plugging machine in and turn it on

    • Remove hose and check for a clog in suction opening

    • Make sure the door is latched shut

      • Door will not latch without bag in place
    • Re-attach the hose (make sure it is securely attached to suction opening)

    • Check for suction at end of hose with attachments and powerhead off

      • Check the variable suction control
      • If it is set to “min”, it may simply need to be adjusted to a higher setting
      • If the hose is clogged, work clog loose by massaging clogged area and/or gently twisting hose where it’s clogged until clog works itself free
    • If there is suction at the end of the hose with the attachments off, but not with them on, the attachment may need to be cleared of clogs

      • The powerhead can be cleared by removing the access plate and brush
    • Check extension wand for clogs

      • Clogs in extension wand may be removed by pushing a broom stick through it
      • If brush is not turning, refer to the Brush Not Turning troubleshooting
    • Check post-motor filter for clogs

      • Post-motor HEPA filter is not washable and may need to be replaced
    • If still no suction, please visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us
