Chromatic Mode
In Chromatic Mode, a single string’s pitch is indicated by a column of five
LEDs in the MAIN DISPLAY, and the target pitch’s name appears in the SECONDARY
DISPLAY.
Tune the string until the column of LEDs are centered and “on target” (left =
flat; right = sharp).
Strobe Mode
In Strobe Mode, a single string’s pitch has two indicators:
• Red LEDS to the left (flat) or right (sharp) of the center LED column
• “Rotating” segments in the display
Tune the string until the rotating segments slow down and stop, and only the center column of LEDs lights up.
Polyphonic Tuning
In Polyphonic Tuning Mode, strum your guitar, and PolyTune Clip will analyze and display the tuning for all strings. In-tune strings will be represented by two green LEDs. Out- of-tune strings will be indicated by two red LEDs below (flat) or above (sharp) the center row.
Changing Reference Pitch
The default reference pitch (A = 440 Hz) can be changed by following these steps:
- Press the DISPLAY MODE button and TUNING MODE button simultaneously. The display will show the current reference pitch (e.g., “440” for 440 Hz).
- To increase the reference pitch in 1 Hz steps, press the TUNING MODE button.
- To decrease the reference pitch in 1 Hz steps, press the DISPLAY MODE button.
- To store the currently-displayed reference pitch, refrain from pressing either button for 2 seconds. The set reference pitch will blink 3 times.
