INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Pro-Ject BT Box E
Dear music lover, thank you for purchasing a Pro-Ject Audio Systems BT Box E.
In order to achieve maximum performance and reliability, you should study
these instructions for use carefully.
Warning of a hazard for the user, the unit or possible misuse.
Important notice.
Safety instructions
AC outlet voltages vary from country to country. Before connecting to the
mains, make sure that the voltage in your area meets the voltage requirements
printed on the power supply.
The power supply is used to disconnect the unit from the mains. Make sure that
the power supply is easily accessible at all times. Never handle the device,
the power supply while your hands are wet or damp. Avoid letting liquids enter
the device or the power supply. Never place any item containing liquid, such
as a flower vase on or near the device. Never spill any liquid on the device
or the power supply. Never place any naked flame sources, such as lighted
candles on or near the device. The product shall not be used in damp or wet
locations, next to a bathtub, sink, swimming pool or any other similar
conditions.
Connectors
Make all connections whilst the product is disconnected from the power supply.
Take care to connect the left and right channels correctly. The right channel
is usually marked red, the left channel black or white.
Never use any other power supply than the one supplied with the unit.
Never connect or disconnect the power supply to or from the unit whilst the
power supply is connected to the mains.
Connection to the amplifier
Connect the Analog Out socket to line input (such as AUX) on your amplifier.
Alternatively, you can use also digital Optical Out to connect the unit to a
D/A converter or to the digital input of your amplifier or AVR. Only one
output is active at a time, use the small switch to select digital or analog
output.
Mains power connection
Connect the low voltage plug from the power supply to the Power 9V DC socket
before connecting the power supply to the mains.
BT pairing
Pairing with devices with Android OS Open Settings and tap on BT. Turn on BT
and tap on Scan. Searched devices will show up. Tap on “BT Box E” (Confirm
pairing code if requested). Once paired it will show “Connected to media
Audio”, now you can play music from your Android device over BT to BT Box E.
Pairing with Apple devices
Tap on Settings, tap on BT, turn on BT, your device will automatically start
searching for available devices. Tap on “BT Box E” and it will be connected to
the BT Box E. Now you can play music.
It´s possible to use BT Box E also with other than the above-mentioned
devices, the pairing procedure is always similar.
Reconnecting
If you move out of range or turn off BT, BT Box E will disconnect from your
device. To reconnect simply open the BT manager and tap on “BT Box E”. If the
signal is lost for only a few seconds it can reconnect automatically –
typically if you move out of the range and then return back.
Adding a new phone or tablet
The unit can play music from one device at a time, but it is capable of being
paired to up to 8 devices. If you want to switch from one device to another,
you have to disconnect the existing connection to BT Box E and then follow the
steps for pairing with the new device.
Troubleshooting
No music from speakers:
– make sure the BT Box E is powered
– make sure an audio cable or an optical cable is correctly connected to BT
Box E
– make sure you are within the range
– make sure the BT is enabled and the device is connected to BT Box E. Volume
level is properly set

Should you encounter a problem which you are not able to alleviate or identify
despite the above information, please contact your dealer for further advice.
Only if the problem cannot be resolved there, the unit should be sent to the
responsible distributor in your country.
