DO NOT modify the power supply if the provided plug does not fit your outlet.
Call us at 1-888-277-7941 to order the
correct power supply.
The Transmitter must remain plugged in to transmit the signal.
Connecting to TV, Cable, Satellite or other media device
First you need to look to see what output is on your device.
Choosing the input signal is the critical to getting the most enjoyable experience. If you need help, we will do our best to get you up and running.
We have included all the parts to install in 3 different ways. Digital Optical (best way), RCA analog and 3.5mm analog audio. We do have kits for installing other ways as well, if you need to order one of our specialty kits please call us 1-888-277-7941 or visit chairspeaker.com
Each one of the connection methods may be located on different devices such as the tv, cable box, satellite box or DVD player. Connecting to different devices may have different features or create an undesirable sound echo. We will explain how each connection works.
Ports on the front of your tv or other devices are normally AUDIO IN and will not send audio to the transmitter. We need to connect to an AUDIO OUT to have the sound signal.
If you are using a sound bar or a surround sound system be aware the sound is not normally passed to the TV using the HDMI. You can connect the transmitter to an output on amplifier or to the back of the cable/satellite box.
Connecting Signal
Digital
We need get a sound out but to the transmitter to broadcast the sound, you will need a connection like the highlighted ones below. This must indicate that it is an “out”, if this port is labeled “IN” or “INPUT” port it will not work.
If you don’t have a connection labeled out on the back of your TV you may use a headphone output. Typically, if you use a headphone output the sound out of the TV speakers is turned off. Another option if you do not have output is to connect to your cable or satellite box.
At the back of your TV, find the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) port. If audio out ports are not available on your television, use the audio ports on your cable or satellite box.
Plug the provided optical cable (cable ends shown below) into the transmitter’s optical input (3) and the other into your television, cable box or satellite box.
The advantages to connecting to the TV rather than the other devices is if you change from a cable box to another device you do not need to change the cables. However, depending on the tv model connecting to the tv can create echo, lag or shut off the speakers on the TV. Some TV have ways to correct for “DELAY” others do not. Please consult your tv manual or call us if you are experiencing a problem.
Digital Optical Cables
The digital optical connection is a connection that uses light to send a digital signal. This signal can be sent in many formats to the transmitter. The ChairSpeaker Transmitter only decode PCM sound. You may need to change the settings on the device to output PCM. This can be found in your TV user manual. If you need help, please call us toll-free at 1-888-440-5273.
If you connect to a digital audio output on the TV and you have no sound, change your TV output in the audio menu on your tv to PCM. If you are using a surround sound system, connect to the output of the surround sound system.
Analog
Both the 3.5 jack and RCA (red and white) jack are analog connections. The same cable is used for both connections just reversed directions.
When using the RCA (red and white) outputs on you TV you must connect to OUTPUTS on your TV. The transmitter will not work when connected to ports labeled IN or INPUT.
Connect the RCA (red and white) cable to the Output of the TV, cable box, or satellite box and use the 3.5mm (4) to connect to the transmitter.
If using the headphone out on the TV connect the 3.5mm cable to the headphone
jack and theRCA (red and white) (5) to the transmitter.
Install your Speaker
After taking the ChairSpeaker® out of the box, form into a U-shape. With both ends about 18” apart.
Make sure the side with the power inlet is in your right hand. Standing up facing your chair lay the ChairSpeaker® over the back of your chair and press the links hard against the chair to conform to the shape of your chair. Make sure some links go over the back. The rubber will hold onto your chair.
Wrap the speakers around the headrest of the chair with the volume knob on the
left for the user at about ear height.
Next plug the speaker into the wall.![ChairSpeaker CS2.0 Instructions

Turn on the speaker using the volume knob located on the front of the left
speaker as a user is sitting in the chair.
A small light by the power input on the top of the left speaker will indicate
the unit is on, this will only come on if the volume is turned on.
Choosing a Place for the Transmitter
The IR Transmitter uses IR LED beams to carry the sound from the TV to the ChairSpeaker®. This light is similar to a flashlight beam. The IR transmitter cannot transmit through objects. The ChairSpeaker® must be in direct line of sight to the IR Transmitter with the IR output panel (7) facing the speakers. Do not cover the transmitter.
Place the transmitter on a stable flat surface so the front of the transmitter can be pointed at the ChairSpeaker®, line of sight is required. Point the transmitter towards the ChairSpeaker®. Do not cover the lights on the front of the transmitter.
ChairSpeaker® has a shelf that can be purchased to place on the TV (see
below). To purchase this shelf, go to ChairSpeaker.com or call 1-888-2777941.
After you have pointed the transmitter and confirmed power lights are illumined on both the transmitter and speakers, turn on your TV and cable/satellite box. Then check the volume of your TV.
You should have sounded if not, adjust the volume knob on the speaker. If you have additional problems, you can visit our website or call us at 1-888-2777941.
Voice Enhancement
CS2 has selectable voice enhancement. The options are off, 1 and 2. The best way to select what setting works best for you is to try each setting and see what you like. This switch is located at the back of the transmitter see below.
Adjusting The Sound Zone
Speaker angle adjustment. The angle of the speakers can be adjusted to close off the sound zone or open the sound zone. This is done by turning the ball of the speaker.
Turn the speaker in towards the chair to close of the sound from the room more. You can increase the volume to the room by turning the ball away from the chair. The sound zone can be increased to max by removing the sound cones.
