IMPORTANT NOTE: The operation of the Security and Convenience System as described in this manual is applicable to most vehicles. However, due to the configuration of some vehicles, some functions AND/OR SAFETY PRECAUTIONS may not apply. Please see your installing dealer for more information.

Using Your Remote Control
Arming the Security System
To arm the system, exit the vehicle, close all doors, then press the button.
The parking lights will flash one (1) time, indicating the system is armed,
has locked the doors (if equipped and connected), and activated the starter to
disable the feature. The LED status indicator will blink steadily, once per
second.
NOTE: The system is equipped with a feature called Silent Choice. If
enabled, the system requires a second press of the button to activate an
audible arming response from the vehicle.
Disarming the Security System
To disarm the system press the button. The parking lights will flash two (2)
times, indicating the system is disarmed and has unlocked the doors (if
equipped and connected).
NOTE: The system is equipped with a feature called Silent Choice. If
enabled, the system requires a second press of the button to activate an
audible disarming response from the vehicle. If your system is set up for 2
stages unlock, the third press of unlocking will activate the audible response
Two-Stage Door Unlock (Optional)
If this feature is enabled on your system, pressing the button one (1) time
will unlock only the driver’s door. Press again within three (3) seconds to
unlock the remaining doors.
Activating the Trunk Release Feature (Optional)
If this feature is enabled on your system, pressing and holding the button for
three (3) seconds will open the vehicle’s trunk or hatch.
Activating the AUX Ch. 4-7 Output (Optional)
AUX channel output is an optional feature and programming is required at the
time of installation. Please consult your dealer for more information.
Using the Personal Protection Alarm (Panic)
Press and hold the or button for three (3) seconds to activate the personal
protection alarm. During panic mode, the normal function of the transmitter
buttons will be suspended. The transmitters and buttons can be used to lock
and unlock the door (if the option is installed). To stop the alarm, press and
hold the or button on the transmitter again for three (3) seconds. The system
will automatically stop after thirty (30) seconds.
*Throughout this manual, ‘press’ refers to pressing for less than 1 second; ‘press and hold’ refers to pressing for more than 3 seconds.
Bypassing The Shock Sensor
The included security shock sensor has two stages of detection, Warn-Away, and
Full Trigger. To arm, the system and shock-sensor press the button. The system
will beep and the lights will flash one (1) time. To Arm the system and bypass
the Warn-Away detection stage press the button two (2) times within five (5)
seconds. To Arm, the Alarm bypasses both detection stages press the button
three (3) times within five (5) seconds.
City Mode
City Mode allows the user to change the sound of the alarm system to make it
easily identified when the alarm is triggered. To enter City Mode press the
button four (4) times within ten (10) seconds.
User Selectable Notification Chirps
System ARM/DISARM chirps can be toggled ON or OFF without entering the
programming feature banks.
- Turn the ignition ON then OFF.
- Press and release the valet/programming button Three (3) times. The system will respond with one (1) chirp for ON or two (2) chirps for OFF.
User Selectable LED
This feature will control whether the LED is ON or OFF when the system is
Armed/ Locked and can be toggled ON or OFF without entering the programming
feature banks.
- Turn the ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF.
- Press and hold the valet/programming button for five (5) seconds. The system LED will respond with one (1) flash for ON or two (2) flashes for OFF.
Programmed Transmitter Notification
As a security precaution each time the vehicle’s ignition is turn on the
status LED light flashes the number of transmitters programmed into the
system. This helps to identify unauthorized transmitters from accessing your
vehicle. If you believe an
the unauthorized transmitter has been programmed to your system, contact your
installing dealer for assistance.
Valet Mode
When valet mode is activated the status LED will light solid, and all
security and remote start functions will be disabled. To enter or exit valet
mode simply follow the steps outlined below:
- Turn the vehicle’s ignition ON.
- Push and hold the programming/valet button.
- The LED will turn on solid when valet mode is active.
- Release the programming/valet button.
When Valet Mode is active the LCD remote will display LOCK or UNLOCK on the screen locking or unlocking the doors
Manually Overriding the Security System
Your system can be disarmed without the use of the transmitter. This is
necessary to operate your vehicle if the transmitter is lost or its battery
fails. To by-pass the alarm system;
- Open the vehicle door. The alarm will sound.
- Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
- Within ten (10) seconds, press and release the valet push-button switch. The alarm system will stop sounding and enter the (by-passed) mode. You can now start and operate the vehicle normally.
Stand Alone Valet Override (Optional)
Your system can be disarmed without the use of the transmitter or valet
button. This is necessary since you will need the ability to operate your
vehicle if the transmitter is lost or its battery fails. To by-pass the alarm
system;
- Open the vehicle door. The alarm will sound.
- Cycle the ignition key ON, OFF, ON.
- Within ten (10) seconds, press and release the Brake pedal three (3) times. The alarm system will stop sounding and enter the (by-passed) mode. You can now start and operate the vehicle normally. This feature must be programmed ON by an
authorized dealer.
Note: This procedure will also activate and deactivate Valet Mode. When Valet Mode is active the LCD remote will display LOCK or U NLOCK on the screen locking or unlocking the doors.
Custom Code Valet Override (Optional)
Unlike the default Valet Override, Custom Code Override is a user personalized
code that offers a higher level of security. If the user chooses to use Custom
Code Override, Feature Bank 2 ; Feature 9 must be programmed for “Custom
Code”. Once
the option has been selected the code must be programmed. Once the Custom Code
is programmed it cannot be changed without first disarming the alarm.
Custom Code Override Procedure
The Custom Code is made up of 2 numbers. Each chosen number must be between
digits 1-9. The default Custom Code is “11”. To disarm the alarm using the
Custom Code option:
- Turn the vehicle ignition to ON.
- Within five (5) seconds, Press the valet button one (1) time.
- Within five (5) seconds, Turn the ignition OFF/ON.
- Within five (5) seconds, Press the valet button one (1) time.
- Turn the vehicle ignition to OFF then ON to start the vehicle.
Custom Code Programming Procedure
In this example, the user has selected Custom Code “23”. To program a user-
selected custom code: Start with the alarm disarmed.
- Turn the ignition to the ON position.
- Within ten ( 10 ) seconds, press the valet button three (3) times to enter programming.
- Within ten ( 10 ) seconds, Cycle the ignition OFF/ON, OFF/ON, OFF/ON. The system will beep one (1) time.
- Within ten ( 10 ) seconds, Press the valet button two (2) times. This number will indicate the first digit of the chosen Custom Code.
- Within ten ( 10 ) seconds, Cycle the ignition OFF/ON.
- Within ten ( 10 ) seconds, Press the valet button three (3) times. This number will indicate the second digit of the chosen Custom Code.
- Cycle the ignition OFF.
If the Custom Code was accepted the LED will flash the first number (2),
pause, then the second number (3). This will repeat two (2) more times to
confirm the Custom Code entry. If after fifteen (15) seconds the LED does
not flash please repeat steps
1-7.

Using Your Remote Starter
Remote Starting Your Vehicle
To activate the remote start function, press and release the button two (2)
times within two (2) seconds. The system will sound, the parking lights will
flash one (1) time and the system will check the vehicle to ensure it is safe
to start. If all safety
parameters are correct, the vehicle will start. The vehicle’s parking lights
will turn on (or flash depending on system settings) as a visual indication
that the vehicle has started and is running.
If your vehicle stalls or does not start, the system will pause five (5)
seconds, then try two (2) more times to start the vehicle (a total of three
(3) attempts). The system will pause 5 seconds between each start attempt.
Remote Start Shutdown
Press and release the button two (2) times to turn the vehicle off. Entering
the Vehicle while it is Running via Remote Vehicle Start (Optional)
- Unlock the vehicle’s doors.
- Enter the vehicle. DO NOT PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL!
- Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn to the ON or RUN position.
- Press the brake pedal. The remote vehicle starter will disengage and the vehicle will operate normally. Preheating or Precooling the Vehicle’s interior Before exiting the vehicle set the temperature controls to the desired setting and operation. After the system starts the vehicle, the heater or air conditioner will activate and heat or cool the vehicle’s interior to your setting.
Remote Start Safety Features
For safety and security reasons, the system will shut down or prevent the
remote vehicle starter from activating if any of the following occur:
- The vehicle’s hood is open.
- The brake pedal is pressed prior to turning the ignition key to the ON position.
- The engine is over-revved (tach checking only).
- Valet Mode is active. Refer to the Valet Mode section of this manual on page 5.
- Remote Start Ready Mode is not set. Manual transmission vehicles only.
Remote Start Ready Mode must be enabled if your vehicle is equipped with a manual transmission.
Remote Start Ready Mode – Manual Transmission Vehicles Only
To activate the remote start function, the system must first be in Remote
Start Ready Mode. Follow the steps below to enter remote start ready mode.

While the engine is running by the ignition key;
1. Place the transmission in neutral.
2. Set the parking brake. -
With your foot off the brake pedal;
- Press and release the button to activate the remote start. The remote will beep four (4) times and the vehicle parking lights will turn on to confirm the system has remote start.
- Remove the keys from the ignition, the vehicle will remain running.
- Exit the vehicle and close all vehicle doors.
- Within two (2) minutes of step 1, press the button to lock the vehicle’s doors.
The vehicle will shut down and sound two (2) short chirps then one (1) long
chirp to confirm ready mode is set.
To Enter & Exit the Vehicle while (Manual Transmission) Remote Start Ready
Mode is already active without canceling Remote Start Ready Mode.
If ready mode has already been activated and you need to enter the vehicle, possibly to retrieve an item, and will exit the vehicle without driving it, you can keep ready mode active by following the steps below.
- With Ready Mode already previously set, activate the remote start.
- While under the control of the remote start open vehicle door to retrieve items.
- Exit the vehicle and close all doors.
- Press the button.
The unit waits three (3) seconds and then shuts down, the system will verify
all doors have been closed then will emit the two (2) short/1 long chirp and
light flash pattern indicating Manual Transmission Ready Mode is active.
Note: If the two (2) short / one (1) long chirp is not heard then Ready
Mode has not been set.

Cancelling Remote Start Ready Mode – Manual Transmission Vehicles Only
The system will exit remote start ready mode if any of the following occur: -
Open any door.

Open the hood or trunk (if connected).
-
Press the brake.
-
Release the parking brake.
-
Turn the ignition ON.
Using the “Quick-stop” Feature
If you want to make a short stop and keep your vehicle running (to keep the
interior warm or cool), the quick-stop feature allows you to do this while
keeping your vehicle secure and your keys with you.
To engage Quick Stop:
- Stop the vehicle and place the transmission in PARK.
- With your foot off the brake pedal, press and release the button two (2) times within two (2) seconds. The parking lights will turn on to confirm a quick stop is entered.
- Remove the keys from the ignition and exit the vehicle. Press the button to lock the vehicle’s doors if desired.
To engage Quick Stop – Manual Transmission Vehicles:
- With the vehicle running, foot off the brake, the parking brake set ON.
- Press and release the button to activate remote start.
- Exit the vehicle close all doors (Door Open/All Doors Close).
- Press and release the button.
- Within three (3) seconds press the button: The unit enters Quick Stop Mode and will remain running until remote start time-out and then shut down. (Remote Start Ready Mode is NOT active)
Note: Do not leave children or animals unattended in the vehicle when using the quick-stop feature.
Turbo Timer (Optional)
This option will keep the engine running to allow the vehicle’s turbo to
properly cool down before shutting the engine off.
To engage the Turbo Timer feature:
- With the vehicle running via the ignition key and your foot off of the brake pedal.
- Engage the vehicle’s parking brake.
- The vehicle’s parking lights will turn on to verify the Turbo Timer feature has been activated.
- Turn the ignition key OFF , the vehicle will continue to run until the preprogrammed time has elapsed (1, 3, or 5 minutes).
To disengage the turbo timer feature, press the vehicle’s brake pedal.
Operating the 2 / 4 Hour Start-Up Timer Mode
The system has the ability to start the vehicle every two (2) or four (4)
hours for a forty-eight (48) hour period. This feature is especially useful in
cold climates where the only means to keep the engine and engine fluids warm
is to periodically start the
engine. The default setting is four (4) hours.
WARNING!
Be certain that the vehicle is outdoors before using this or any remote
starting device. A running engine produces dangerous carbon monoxide fumes
which can be harmful or fatal if prolonged exposure occurs. DO NOT remote
start the vehicle if it is
garaged.
To configure 2 / 4-hour start timer mode:
- Press and hold the valet button.
- Cycle the vehicle’s Ignition ON/OFF one (1) time.
- To set for 2 Hours (default) – Press the valet button two (2) times. The Parking Lights will flash two (2) times for confirmation.
- To set for 4 Hours (default) – Press the valet button four (4) times. The Parking Lights will flash four (4) times for confirmation.
To activate the 2 / 4-hour start-up timer mode:
- Start the vehicle and let it run for more than fifteen (15) seconds.
- Cycle the vehicle’s Ignition to the OFF position.
- Press and release the button on the remote four (4) times.
The vehicle’s parking lights will flash two (2) or four (4) times to confirm the timer mode is activated.
To exit the 2 / 4-hour start-up timer mode:
- Remote start the vehicle using the remote control.
- Start the vehicle normally using the Ignition key.
Operating the Daily Start Timer
The system has the ability to start your vehicle based on a 24-hour countdown
timer. This feature requires a two-part activation sequence. From the remote,
while in range of the vehicle, pressing both the & OPT buttons together
will activate the 24-hour
countdown timer (the vehicle will start 24 hours from this time). Next, when
you are finished operating the vehicle for the day, perform the following
steps to complete the process.
- Turn the ignition ON/OFF (vehicle must be disarmed).
- Within ten (10) seconds, while pressing the brake, press and release the button twice.
- The vehicle will emit two (2) chirps and flash the parking lights four (4) times.
Temperature Start Mode
The system has the ability to start the vehicle if the temperature drops below
a preset temperature threshold. Once activated, the system will only start the
vehicle one time based on the temperature setting and will be canceled if the
vehicle is started with the
key or remote started by the transmitter. Temperature is read from the module,
located below the dashboard in most instances, and the vehicle’s interior
temperature may vary from the ambient temperature.
- The vehicle must be armed.
- Press and release both the & OPT buttons together.
Note: This feature is defaulted OFF and must be set in option programming.

Additional 2-Way LCD Remote Control Functions
Additional Features of the Optional 2 Way LCD Remote Control
Display Illumination
Press and hold the F button for one (1) second. The display will
illuminate for five (5) seconds.
Melody / Vibration Mode
To have the remote control vibrate or play a melody tone each time it receives
a response from the vehicle press and hold F
then press and release .
Battery Save Mode
While in POWER SAVE MODE the 2-Way LCD transmitter will NOT look
for any incoming signals from the main unit until a button is pressed. The
LCD screen will display SAVE ON to indicate that power save mode is
ON. To enter power save mode
press and hold F then press .
Stopping LCD Trigger Melody
To stop the alarm trigger melody if the system has been triggered WITHOUT
disarming the system, press the button one time only, this will send a lock
command to the vehicle at this time and the alarm will silent.
Parking Meter Countdown
The parking meter countdown timer has six (6) preset times, to access the
preset times and begin countdown press and hold F
then press and release OPT , each additional press of OPT will
increase the countdown time.
2nd Car Mode
To control a second security system enter 2 car modes by pressing and together
for three (3) seconds. When the icon appears on the transmitter’s LCD screen
it will control the second security system. Use the same method to exit 2nd
car mode and resume control of the original vehicle’s security system.
NOTE: A second security system must be installed and the LCD transmitter must
be learned to it before this feature will operate the additional system.
Adjusting the Clock and Timer Settings
The clock, alarm clock, and programmable countdown timer are accessed through
the Function Menu. Press and hold F
for 5 seconds to access the function menu, once you have accessed the feature
menu press and release F to scroll through each
feature and follow the steps below to adjust the settings for each. Press and
hold F for 5 seconds to exit the menu.

Replacing Remote Control Batteries
5 Button Remote Control – Model 185SP
The CR2032 battery inside each remote control should last approximately 1 year
under normal use. When the batteries become weak you will notice the remote
control range (the distance from the vehicle the remote control will work)
deteriorate and the small LED on the remote control will dim. To replace the
remote control batteries:
- Using a coin, disassemble the halves of the remote control.
- Remove the old battery, observing the +/- symbols on the batteries, and replace it with a new battery.
- Reassemble the halves of the remote control.
- Test operation of the remote control.
2 Way LCD Remote Control – Model 18RELCD
The battery inside the 2-way LCD remote control is rechargeable and should
last approximately 30-60 days under normal use. When the battery becomes weak
you will notice the remote control range (the distance from the vehicle the
remote control will work) deteriorate and the battery icon on the LCD remote
control will show 1 bar or less.
To recharge the remote control.
- On the back of the remote; Pull a tab with a USB symbol up and away from the back case.
- Rotate the USB tab from right to left to slide out the remote charging port.
- Press the USB tab into place. The lock will engage.
Repeat the process above in reverse to stow the charging port.
LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
Applies to Prestige Series Control Modules, Sirens, Sensors, and Relays.
Voxx Electronics Corporation (the Company) warrants to the original purchaser
of this the product that should this product or any part thereof, (other than
transmitters) under normal use and conditions, be proven defective in material
or workmanship during the lifetime of the vehicle, in which it was originally
installed from the date of original purchase such defect(s) will be repaired
or replaced with the new or reconditioned product, (at the Company’s option)
without charge for parts or repair labor. A transmitter is warranted for 12
months from the date of original purchase.
To obtain repair or replacement within the terms of this Warranty, the product
is to be delivered with proof of warranty coverage (e.g. dated bill of sale),
specification of defect(s), transportation prepaid, to an approved warranty
station. This Warranty is not transferable.
This Warranty does not cover damage to the vehicle’s electrical system or
costs incurred for removal or reinstallation of the product. This Warranty
does not cover batteries, broken LCD or OLED display screens, nor apply to any
product or part thereof which, in the opinion of the Company, has suffered or
been damaged through alteration, improper installation, mishandling, misuse,
abuse, neglect, accident, or by removal or
defacement of the factory serial number/bar code label(s). This Warranty is in
lieu of all other express warranties or liabilities. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES,
INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF
MERCHANTABILITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY. IN
NO CASE SHALL THE COMPANY BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR
INCIDENTAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF THIS OR ANY OTHER WARRANTY. No person or
representative is authorized to assume for the Company any liability other
than expressed herein in connection with the sale of this product.
The company does not warrant that this product cannot be compromised or
circum- vented. THE EXTENT OF THE COMPANY’S LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS
LIMITED TO THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT PROVIDED ABOVE AND, IN NO EVENT, SHALL
THE COMPANY’S LIABILITY EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID BY THE PURCHASER FOR
