5GHUB QNavigator with EG95 User Manual
Introduction
EG95 module is LTE Cat 4 module which can be used as a modem from Windows or Linux machine. The following procedure explains how to use it on Windows PC. Similar procedure can be used on Linux as well
Windows Device Manager
When you plug the USB dongle for EG95 into windows machine, make sure the EG95 is powered on and a SIM card is inserted. Launch Windows device manager and you shall be able to see the ports and modem of the EG95 as shown in the following picture:
Window Task Bar
You can open the “Network & Internet Setting” from the Task bar and you shall be able to see the modem as in the picture below. It shows the EG95 as Hologram (LTE) because the SIM card used is from hologram.io company. If you used AT&T or other mobile operator, you shall see it displayed in the “network & Internet Setting” device.
Using Quectel Navigator
Download and install QNavigator tool. Launch it and follow the same screenshots as below:
From the menu Setting, choose Serial port parameter set, and make sure you choose Quectel USB AT Port. Click OK and then click Connect to module. You will see that EG95 communicates with the mobile operator and because Registered. Once it shows up Registered, it means the modem is now connected to the mobile operator and you can send and receive data from/to the Internet.
Using AT Commands
You can use AT commands to configure, control, or change the setting of the modem. In the QNavigator, you can click QCOM on the left sidebar. In the screen shoot below, it shows issuing three AT commands.
AT
ATI: to retrieve information about the module
AT+CSQ: to query the signal strength and bit error rate on the wireless
channel.
You can use many other AT commands. Please refer to AT commands manual for detailed description of all AT commands available for EG95.
