ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
SOLAR BARN LIGHT
Please read these instructions thoroughly prior to installation, then store
in a safe place for future reference.

SAFETY INFORMATION
- Your solar barn light is not a toy. Keep it out of reach of small children.
- Your weather-resistant solar panel must be installed outdoors to receive light from the sun.
- If using a step ladder, you may require a second person to help install the solar barn light.
- Prior to installation, layout all components to ensure they correspond to the parts diagram on the cover page.
- NEVER LOOK DIRECTLY INTO THE SOLAR BARN LIGHT WHEN ILLUMINATED.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
When replacing the batteries for the solar barn light, be sure to:
- Use rechargeable batteries only.
- Match the replacement battery specifications with the batteries that have been removed.
- Observe the correct polarity (+ and -) when installing the replacement batteries.
- Do not mix old and new batteries
CARE & MAINTENANCE
- From time to time, ensure the plug between the solar panel and barn light is securely connected.
- It is advisable to adjust the angle of the solar panel to optimize the exposure of the sun during the winter months.
- The solar panel should be cleaned with a damp cotton cloth on a regular basis. This will ensure optimal performance and battery charging. Periodically, utilize the same technique to clean the solar barn light.
- Never let any abrasive material come into contact with the solar panel.
WARRANTY
This product is covered under a one-year limited warranty. Sunforce Products Inc. warrants to the original purchaser that this product is free from defects in materials and workmanship for the period of one year from the date of purchase. The included batteries are not covered under this warranty. Proof of purchase including date and explanation of complaint is required for warranty service.
PRE-INSTALLATION
Ensure your solar panel is placed so that Its exposure to the sun is optimized. Be aware of objects such as trees or property overhangs that may Impede the panel’s ability to generate a charge.
PRE-INSTALLATION CONT.
Included with the solar barn light is a USB charging cable. This cable should be used for the initial charging of the barn light’s batteries. Prior to mounting the barn light and solar panel charge through the USB connection for 3 hours. Once this is complete, proceed with the installation.
Note – This USB initial battery charging can be avoided. Once you have completed the solar barn light installation, turn off the light and leave the solar barn light connected to the solar panel for two days of full sun. This will allow the batteries to fully charge prior to initial usage.
Unscrew the plastic seal and remove it from the light socket. Attach the lampshade over the socket and then re•screw the plastic seal until the lampshade is firmly installed. Screw-in the included lightbulb.
INSTALLATION OF THE SOLAR PANEL
Choose a surface for mounting the solar panel that optimizes solar exposure.
Identify the four screw holes. Use the four longer screws included with the
solar barn light and screw in the solar panel mounting bracket.
Optional: Use a power drill (not included) to create the holes on your chosen
mounting surface. \…..Note the adjustment twist-dial that can be used to
adjust the angle of the solar panel.
INSTALLATION OF THE BARN UGHT
Connecting the barn light.
Identify the metal wall bracket included with the solar barn light. Place this
bracket on your chosen surface and use the included screws to mount the
bracket. The canopy base of the light fixture mounts onto this bracket and is
secured using the two small included screws.
Note- There is a hole in the canopy base to allow the cable to pass through.
Ensure the barn light cable is lined up with this hole prior to attaching the
canopy base.
Connect the cable from the solar panel to the cable from the barn light.
Ensure this connection is tight and the plastic screw sheath covers the
connection point.
BARN LIGHT ADJUSTMENT
Note- The barn light fixture has a pivot point, this allows the light to be angled to illuminate a surface. Once the desired angle is achieved, tighten the twist dial to fix the light in position.
OPERATING THE SOLAR BARN LIGHT
Once the barn light is connected to the solar panel, press the ON/OFF button. This will allow the fight to begin operation.
Note- The solar barn light will only illuminate when the solar panel is in darkness. You can test if the light is operating correctly by pressing the ON/ OFF button and covering the solar panel. The light should illuminate. If this process fails to illuminate the bulb, press the ON/OFF button again and re- test. If once again the light fails to illuminate please read through the FAQ section of this manual.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
The batteries for the solar barn light are installed within the mounting bracket of the solar panel. Should you need to replace the batteries the following procedure should be implemented. Disconnect the solar panel from the light fixture. Unscrew the solar panel from the mounting base. Remove the two batteries from inside the solar panel mounting bracket and replace the batteries. Re-connect the solar panel and cable to the light fixture. When replacing the batteries, observe the correct polarity and match the battery specifications with the batteries you have removed. Use rechargeable batteries only that match the batteries removed.

Ensure the solar panel is not receiving light from another source such as a street light. Make sure you have pressed the ON/OFF button.

The solar panel should be mounted to a surface that will optimize exposure to sunlight.

The amorphous solar panel allows for charging under low light conditions, but direct sunlight is still preferable. Mount your solar panel in a position that will enable the most amount of light to be absorbed In the Northern Hemisphere. This is usually south facing.

There are no extensions available at this time. Any additions to the cable will void the warranty.

The solar barn light requires two Lithium-Ion 3.7V 2000 mAh batteries.

No. Only bulbs purchased through Sunforce Products can be used for this product. Any bulb not purchased through Sunforce Products and installed in the solar barn light will automatically void any warranty.
