Plan Speaker Placement

Your outdoor mountable speakers offer many installation options, both indoors and out, horizontally or vertically.

CORNER Mounting: Mount the speaker brackets on the sidewall. The speakers provide more bass in this placement.

UNDER-EAVE Mounting: There are 2 options for mounting the speakers under your eaves. (1) mount the speaker brackets on the wall below your eaves, or (2) mount the speaker brackets to your eaves. Closer placements to the eaves provide more bass.
Note: You can also place the speakers on a tabletop. Simply remove their mounting brackets.
Keep in mind…

Your speakers will need to be plugged in from time to time (the power jack is on the back of each speaker). The power adapters and extensions give you an 11foot reach from your power outlet or power strip to the speaker. Make sure your speakers are no more than 10 feet away from a working power outlet or power strip so you can charge them when you need to!

Safety First!

  • Installing these speakers requires basic skills in using tools such as a drill or screwdriver. If you’re not sure you have these skills, consult a professional installer.
  • Make sure the material and location where you plan to mount these speakers is capable of supporting the weight of the speakers (around 6 lbs each).
  • To maximize the useful life of your speakers, mount them where they have less exposure to the elements. Avoid exposure to extreme weather conditions.
  • Before mounting the speakers, hold them in a place where you plan to install them to make sure they safely clear obstacles such as the ceiling, walls, corners, lighting fixtures, door or window frames, or other nearby fixtures.

Mount the Speaker Brackets

  1. Remove the brackets from each speaker.
Unscrew the bracket locks on the top and bottom of each speaker. Remove the bracket locks and the brackets as shown here.
What kinds of screws should you use?
If you are mounting to wood studs (behind drywall, for example): Use Truss- head #8 x 1” (4mm x 25mm) wood screws.
If you are not mounting to wood studs: Use Trusshead #8 x 1” (4mm x 25mm) screws and anchors.

  2. Mark speaker placement on the wall.
Place each bracket on the wall where you plan to mount each speaker. Use a pencil to mark the wall through the top and bottom keyhole slots on the brackets.

  3. Mount the screws to the wall.
Use a 1/8” drill bit to drill pilot holes in the wall where you marked. If you’re using anchors, insert them in each hole so that they’re flush with the wall. Screw-in all 4 screws so that the screw heads are 1/8” away from the wall.

  4. Mount the brackets to the screws.
Place each bracket on the screw heads and pulldown to lock them into place.

Set Up the Speakers

Power/Charge the Speakers
Open the DC In flap on the back of each speaker to access the power jack. Plug one end of a power adapter into the power jack. Plug the other end into a working power outlet or power strip.

Note: The power extension cables provided extend the reach of your power adapter cable by 6 feet. Simply connect one end to the power jack on the speaker and the other end to the end of the power adapter cable.
The charging indicator next to the power jack turns red while the speaker is charging. It turns green when the speaker is fully charged.

Turn On the Speakers
Press and hold the Power/Pair button on the back of each speaker to turn it on. The speakers automatically connected to each other for wireless stereo when they’re both powered on (they announce “Left Connected” and “Right Connected).

Note: If the speakers don’t pair stereo automatically, give a quick double-press to the Power/Pair button on the back of one of the speakers to reconnect wireless stereo.
IMPORTANT: It’s important to know which speaker is left and right so that you mount them correctly. If you forget, look at the indicators on the front of the speaker—the indicator on the left speaker blinks every 10 seconds when it’s connected to the other speaker.

Pair to your phone or another Bluetooth device
Once the speakers have connected for wireless stereo, they’re ready to pair to your phone or another Bluetooth device (one of the speakers announces “Pairing”). Make sure your phone’s Bluetooth is turned. Then go its Bluetooth menu and  choose “AROM10.” The speaker announces “Connected” when it’s connected to your phone or another Bluetooth device.
To start streaming music to the speakers: Start playing music on your phone or another Bluetooth device.
To control volume: Use the volume controls on your phone or another Bluetooth device.
How to reset the speakers
If you’re having trouble getting the speakers to connect to each other or pair to your device, you can reset them to their factory defaults and start the setup process again.
To reset the speakers:

  1. Make sure both speakers are turned off. (To turn them off, press and hold the Power/Pair button on the back of the speaker.)
  2. On one of the speakers, press and hold the Power/Pair button on the back for 6 seconds until the speaker says “Pairing.”
  3. On that same speaker, give a quick double press of the Power/Pair button on the back of that speaker. The speaker emits a double beep.
  4. On the other speaker, press and hold the Power/Pair button on the back for 6 seconds until the speaker says “Pairing.”
After several seconds, the speakers will announce “left connected” and “right connected.” Soon after, one of the speakers will announce that they are ready to pair with your phone. Follow the steps above for pairing your phone or another Bluetooth device with the speakers.

Mount the Speakers

  1. Attach the speakers to the brackets.
Place each speaker into its bracket as shown. Thenscrew the top and bottom bracket locks and tighten them to hold the speaker in place.

  2. Aim the speakers as desired.
Slightly loosen the bracket locks on the top and bottom of a speaker and aim it as desired. Then tighten the bracket locks to hold it in place.
