To conduct surface temperature measurements, you will need to change the mode.

  2. Hold the thermometer 1-2 in. from the surface you want to measure and press the measure button.
  3. Hold the thermometer still during reading. A beep will indicate that the measurement is complete unless the device is in mute mode.
  4. Once the temperature is taken, it will display for five seconds. After the temperature has been displayed, the thermometer will revert to standby mode indicated by three bars. Press the measure button again to take a new temperature.
  5. To power off the thermometer, hold the measure button for three (3) seconds or wait 15 seconds for the auto shutoff feature to power off the thermometer.
