Welcome to Spin’s S-100T electric scooter, hereafter referred to as S-100T!
5-1007 is designed for rental as a shared e-scooter. This manual will
highlight some of 5-100T’s many features. Let’s take it for a Spin!
Riding Safety
-
S-1007 is a recreational product. As with any vehicle or mobility product, practice is required to master riding skills. Spin is not responsible for any injuries or damage caused by a rider’s inexperience or failure to follow the instructions in this document.
-
Please understand that you can reduce the risk by following all the instructions and warnings in this manual, but you cannot eliminate all the risks. Remember that whenever you ride the S-100T, you risk injury from loss of control, collisions, and falls. When entering into public spaces always comply with the local laws and regulations. As with other vehicles, faster speeds require a longer braking distance. Sudden braking on low traction surfaces could lead to wheel-slip or falls. Be cautious and always keep a safe distance between you and other people or vehicles when riding. Be alert and slow down when entering unfamiliar areas.
-
Always wear a helmet when riding. Use an approved bicycle or skateboard helmet that fits properly with the chin strap in place, and provides protection for the back of your head.
-
Do not attempt your first ride in any area where you might encounter children, pedestrians, pets, vehicles, bicycles, or other obstacles and potential hazards.
-
Follow all local regulations related to sidewalk riding, riding in bike lanes, and riding in no-ride zones or slow ride zones.
-
If you do encounter a pedestrian while riding in a legal riding area, respect pedestrians by always yielding the right of way. Pass on the left whenever possible. If approaching a pedestrian from the front, stay to the right and slow down. Avoid startling pedestrians. When approaching from behind, announce yourself and slow down to walking speed when passing. Please obey local traffic laws and regulations if the situation is different.
-
In the absence of local regulation, comply with the safety guidelines outlined in this manual. Spin is not responsible for any property damage, personal injury/death, accidents, or legal disputes caused by violations of the safety instructions.
-
Do not allow other riders to rent S-100T using your account, and do not ride with another rider on the same scooter.
-
Follow all instructions provided to you by S-100T during the ride. If S-100T tells you that you’re in a no-ride zone, move to an area where you can legally ride. If S-100T presents an error code or a fault or error message, end your ride and complete your ride on another nearby Spin scooter.
-
Be alert! Scan both far ahead and in front of your S-100T — your eyes are your best tool for safely avoiding obstacles and low traction surfaces (including, but not limited to, wet ground, loose sand, loose gravel, and ice).
-
Do not attempt to ride at an unsafe speed.
-
Do not ride if the road or environmental conditions are unsafe.
-
Do not ride if you are under the age of 18 years old.
-
To reduce the risk of injury, you must read and follow all “CAUTION” and “WARNING”
notices in this document. Always follow these safety instructions:
a. People who should not ride the S-100T include
i. Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
ii. Anyone who suffers from a disease that puts them at risk if they engage in strenuous physical activity.
iii. Anyone who has problems with balance or with motor skills that would interfere with their ability to maintain balance.
iv. Anyone whose weight is outside the stated limits (see Specifications).
v. Pregnant women.
b. Comply with local laws and regulations when riding this product. Do not ride where prohibited by local laws.
c. To ride safely, you must be able to clearly see what is in front of you and you must be clearly visible to others.
d. Do not ride in the snow, in the rain, or on roads that are wet, muddy, icy, or that are slippery for any reason. Do not ride over obstacles (sand, loose gravel, or sticks). Doing so could result in a loss of balance or traction and could cause a fall. -
Do not attempt to charge S-100T if it, the charger, or the power outlet is wet.
-
As with any electronic device, use a surge protector when charging to help protect
S-100T from damage due to power surges and voltage spikes. Only use the Spin supplied charger. Do not use a charger from any other different product models. -
Use only Spin-approved parts and accessories, and follow the standard Spin operating procedures. Do not modify S-100T. Modifications to S-100T could interfere with its operation and could result in serious injury and/or damage.
-
Children should not play with the S-100T or parts of it nor should cleaning or maintenance be done by children. The use of the machine results in the transmission of vibrations throughout the rider’s body.
-
Always park S-100T on a flat and stable surface, with the kickstand enabled. Never place S-100T with the front-facing down the slope, as the kickstand may close and tip the machine. Once the S-100T is parked, enable the kickstand and check its stability to avoid any risk of falling (by slip, wind, or slight jolt). Do not park the S-100T in a busy area, but rather at a bike rack, designated parking area, or against a wall away from pedestrian traffic. Do not ever park S-100T in a way that blocks pedestrian traffic or accessibility entryways or exits. Do not ever block points of egress from a building.
-
S-100T is not designed to be maintained by riders who rent S-100T.
-
. Riders who rent S-100T should not attempt to change, remove, or charge the battery.
-
Riders who rent S-100T should not touch the brake system, or attempt to disassemble the scooter in any way.
-
The A-weighted emission sound pressure level is less than 70 dB(A). The mechanical vibrations transmitted by the S-100T are less than 2,5 m/s2.
