Guangzhou Lie Dun Electronics Technology Digital Signature Pen Stylus
Digital signature pen (stylus)
An optional digital signature pen (stylus) is included with some Chameleon 8 Single configurations. This device can be used in combination with the touch screen to capture accurate high quality signatures electronically. A dedicated software application will create a signature window on the tablet display panel, allowing the applicant to sign on the screen. Do not use excessive force and replace the stylus battery when needed.
Power adaptor
The detachable mains power supply adaptor will connect to the DC Charge port on the Chameleon device, and can either be used to supply power directly to the device or charge the device battery. The battery charging starts automatically.
CAUTION:
- When using the Chameleon 8 Single device for the first time, do not connect any peripheral device except the supplied battery and AC adapter.
- When handling the power (AC) adapter problems such as sudden voltage drops may arise during periods of thunder and lightning. Try to avoid using the power adaptor during these periods.
- When the DC plug is not connected to the unit, disconnect the AC cord from your electrical outlet. Power is consumed simply by having the AC adapter plugged into an electric outlet.
- Always hold the plug head when you unplug the connector, never pull out the cord.
- The AC adapter is designed for use with your tablet only. Connecting the AC adapter to another device can damage the adapter.
The power(AC) adapter operates on any voltage in the range of 100~240 V AC. The AC adapter serves as a converter from AC (Alternating Current) to DC (Direct Current) power because the device runs on DC power input, but an electrical outlet usually provides AC power.
Note: Do
not charge the battery when temperatures fall below 0°C or is above 45°C
(below 32°F or above 113°F), as it may cause safety issues. Recharging the
battery must only be carried out in a non-hazardous area using the supplied AC
adapter.
This power adapter is for indoor use only!
Shoulder strap
An optional shoulder/ neck strap allows you to effortlessly transport your Chameleon device, while still having access to the unit at all times. Simply follow the easy steps below to connect your rugged shoulder strap to the tablet. Adjust the length to suit your needs. Make sure the straps are securely connected to the device before use!

The operating time of a fully charged battery becomes shorter.
- If you often partially recharge and discharge, the battery might not be charged to its full potential. The actual operating time can be different from the estimated time, depending on how you are using the tablet. If the actual operating time is much less than the estimated time, contact an authorized dealer for assistance.
Bluetooth problems
Cannot connect to another device with Bluetooth wireless technology.
- Make sure that both devices have Bluetooth turned on.

- If you are using external AC power, make sure that the AC adapter is correctly and securely connected. If so, make sure that the electrical outlet works properly.
Tablet warms up
When in use for a long time, the tablet may warm up. This is normal and will
not affect the life or performance of the unit.
- When your tablet is turned on or the battery is charging, some parts might become hot. The temperature that they reach depends on the amount of system activity and the level of charge in the battery. Health and safety information
Certification Information (SAR)
Exposure to Radio Frequency (RF) Signals
Your Tablet PC is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed and
manufactured not to exceed the exposure limits for radio frequency (RF) energy
set by the Federal Communications Commission
(FCC) of the U.S. government. These FCC exposure limits are derived from the
recommendations of two expert organizations, the National Counsel on Radiation
Protection and Measurement
(NCRP) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). In
both cases, the recommendations were developed by scientific and engineering
experts drawn from industry, government, and academia after extensive reviews
of the scientific literature related to the biological effects of RF energy.
The exposure limit set by the FCC for wireless mobile phones employs a unit of
measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR). The SAR is a measure
of the rate of absorption of RF energy by the human body expressed in units of
watts per kilogram (W/kg). The FCC requires Tablet PC to comply with a safety
limit of 1.6 watts per kilogram (1.6 W/ kg). The FCC exposure limit
incorporates a substantial margin of safety to give additional protection to
the public and to account for any variations in measurements. The maximum of
results of SAR is 1.196(SAR1-g (W/kg)) for Body-worn , Hotspot , The maximum
of results of 1.528 SAR1-g (W/kg)) For Simultaneous transmission SAR,Comply
with FCC requirements.
SAR tests are conducted using standard operating positions accepted by the FCC with the transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified power level, the actual SAR level of the phone while operating can be well below the maximum value. This is because the Tablet PC is designed to operate at multiple power levels so as to use only the power required to reach the network. In general, the closer you are to a wireless base station antenna, the lower the power output.
Before a new tablet PC is available for sale to the public, it must be tested
and certified to the FCC that it does not exceed the exposure limit
established by the FCC. Tests for each tablet PC are performed in positions
and locations (e.g. at the ear and worn on the body) as required by the FCC.
For body worn operation, this tablet PC has been tested and meets the FCC RF
exposure guidelines when used with accessory designated for this product or
when used with an accessory that contains no metal and that positions the
handset a minimum of 0mm from the body.
Non-compliance with the above restrictions may result in violation of FCC RF
exposure guidelines.
