HOW IT WORKS

How Light Stream™ Communicates
The Light Stream™ app transmits commands to the Controller via a wireless connection to your phone or device. The Controller saves these commands, then relays them wirelessly to any paired bulbs and Switches. Bulbs also relay information to other bulbs. The Controller and Switch [s) also control power to their attached bulbs, which is essential for correct operation. Bulbs must be directly connected to a controller or paired switch for correct operation.how it works

APP PAIRING:

Pair the controller to your phone
Turn your smartphone’s wireless functions on, plug in your controller, and launch the latest version of the Light Stream™ app. You may manually pair your Controller, Switches and Bulbs separately, or use the Setup Wizard*detail

DEVICE PAIRING
Power up and pair devices
Plug in all your bulbs, controller and switch(s). Open the app and navigate to the controller home page. Next, go to Manage Devices> Pair Switches to begin Pairing the Switches. You can pair multiple Switches at once. Always follow the directions when pairing and always keep close to the controller when using the app.detail 2

BULBS: PAIRING
Manage Devices > Pair Bulbs
Make sure all bulbs are connected to a paired Controller or Switch(s), then begin the process. Complete the process when all bulbs have turned green. Bulbs connected to switches will begin pairing slightly after the bulbs connected to the controller.detail 3

LS2 vs LS3 Bulbs:
LS2 Bulbs (2018) If you’re setting up a controller for bulbs purchased prior to 2018, follow instructions on-line for LS2 setup. https://villagelighting.com/blogs/light-s1ream#faq LS3 Bulbs (2019+) Your controller will automatically be set up for bulbs purchased later than 2019.

From the controller page, you can access all the functionality of the Light Stream™ system. You may also change themes and activate the schedule using the buttons at the top of the screen.detail 4

APP: THEMES

How to make a Theme
Time to get creative! Themes can feature fades, twinkles and multiple color patterns. Navigate to your Controller Menu > Themes and Colors.detail

  1. Select the + icon to create a new theme and give your theme a name.
  2. Select a color(s) for each bulb channel. You can have up to three colors for each channel. If you choose more than one color per channel, colors will automatically fade.
  3. Choose a fade speed. This is how fast the bulbs will change color. Want a twinkle effect? Select the star to the right of the color swatches and choose a color. Each bulb assigned to your chosen channel will randomly twinkle:
  4. Finally, Save your Schedule before going back to the controller homepage. Press the paint bucket to select and activate your new theme.

APP: SCHEDULES

How to set a Schedule
Utilizing the schedule feature will automate when your lights turn on or ott. Select your Controller and navigate to the Schedule page.detail

  1. Choose between a custom or simple schedule type. (Simple: Same theme every day, Custom: Different theme every day)
  2. Decide on a time for your lights to turn on and off or use the photocell feature·.
  3. Select the days of the week you want the schedule to run and choose a theme or color. Custom schedules allow for a different theme or color every day.
  4. Choose the theme or color you want the lights to be and Save your Schedule.
  5. Navigate to the controller homepage and set the power slider to the Schedule On position. only turns lights on at dusk. Requires cont1t1ller placement with visibility to sunlight.

BULBS: CHANNELS

Preassigned channels 1-6
Your bulbs will come separated and color coded by channel. Channels can be re- assigned or changed using the Manage Bulb Channels process in the App• ‘This process should only be done by experienced professionals.detail

TROUBLESHOOTING

App won’t connect to controller: Insure the controller is not already connected to another device (controller status light will be blue-green if curren11y connected). Close and re-open the app and try again. If it still doesn’t connect, unplug and plug in the controller, wait 10 seconds, and try again. Make sure the controller status Ilg ht Is green before making the connection. Witch each attempt, close and re-open the App.

Controller drops connection with app: Make sure you’re staying within 10 feet of the controller when using app. If the problem persists, exit to the main controller list screen, right swipe the controller name and select ‘Re.set”. This will reset your controller and clear it of corrupt data that might be causing the crashes.
WARNING : This might require closing/reopening the app to connect again and will erase all current themes and schedules. Bulbs light up when send color command, but remain unlit afterward: Bulbs have lost their bulb assignment. Follow the steps online to reset the bulb assignment. Controller seems to be unresponsive: You may have lost the con nec11on with the controller. Exit out of the app and connect to your controller again.
