CONNECTING THE APPLIANCE

Battery connection (vehicle or boat) You can supply the appliance from 12 V or 24 V.

Note! Risk of damage!

Disconnect the refrigerator and other appliances from the battery before connecting the battery to the quick charger. Overvoltage can damage the electronics of the appliance. For safety reasons, the appliance is equipped with an electronic system to prevent polarity reversal. This protects the appliance against short circuits when connected to the battery.

  • Connect the 12/24 V power cable to the DC connector of the appliance (fig. 1 2) and also to the 12 V or 24 V cigarette lighter.

Connection to 220-240 V AC electric outlet (e.g. at home or office) DANGER! Risk of electric shock!

  • Never handle connectors or switches with wet hands or when standing on a wet surface.

  • If you are using the appliance on a boat with a 220-240 V supply, you must install a residual current circuit breaker between the 220-240 V AC power supply and the appliance. Ask an experienced technician for help.
The appliance has an integrated multi-voltage supply with a priority circuit that automatically switches the appliance to electrical outlet power supply if you connect the appliance to a 220-240 V AC outlet, even if a 12/24 V connecting cable is still connected.

  • Connect the 220-240 V connecting cable (fig. 1 3) to the AV outlet of the appliance and connect the other end to the 220-240 V AC power outlet.

USING BATTERY MONITOR
The appliance is equipped with a multi-level battery monitor that protects your vehicle’s battery from being over-discharged when the appliance is connected to a 12/24 V supply.
If you use the appliance when the vehicle engine is switched off, the appliance switches off automatically when the supply voltage falls below the set level. The appliance switches on again when the battery is being charged and reaches the starting voltage level.

NOTE! Risk of damage!
When the appliance is switched off thanks to the battery monitor, the battery is no longer charges fully. Avoid restarting or using other appliances without longer charging stages. Make sure the battery is charged!

In “HIGH” mode, the battery monitor responds faster than in “LOW” and “MED” mode (see the following table).

Battery monitor mode LOW MED HIGH
Shutoff voltage at 12 V 10.1 V 11.4 V 11.8 V
Starting voltage at 12 V 11.1 V 12.2 V 12.6 V
Shutoff voltage at 24 V 21.5 V 24.1 V 24.6 V
Starting voltage at 24 V 23.0 V 25.3 V 26.2 V

The battery monitor mode can be set as follows:

  • Turn on the appliance

  • Press the “SET“ (obr. 3 4) button three times.

  • Press “UP+ (fig. 3 6)“ or “DOWN – (fig. 3 7)“ to select the battery monitor mode.

  • The digital display shows the following:
Lo (LOW), Me (MED), Hi (HIGH)

  • The selected mode will then appear on the display for a few seconds. The display flashes several times before returning to the current temperature display.

NOTE
If the appliance is equipped with a starter battery, select the battery monitor mode “HIGH”. If the appliance is connected to a battery, the battery monitor mode “LOW” will suffice.
