YAMAHA WSB1AC Wireless Speaker

This product is a wireless speaker that plays audio content from a Bluetooth device such as a smartphone.
Be sure to read the supplied Safety Brochure before using.
This document explains basic operation for those who are using the product for the first time.

Charging the unit

CAUTION: Charging with liquid or foreign matter on the terminals may cause fire, explosion, liquid leakage, electric shock, or malfunction. Do not charge the unit when it is wet.

After purchase, charge the unit before using. A charging cradle (sold separately) can also be used to charge the unit. See XXXXX for details.

  1. Connect the Type-C connector of the USB cable to the USB port on this unit.

  2. Connect the Type-A connector of the USB cable to the USB AC adapter.
    Use a commercially available USB AC adapter that can output DC 5V, 2A or more.

  3. Plug in the USB AC adapter to an AC wall outlet.
    Charging will start (power lamp: glowing orange). When charging is completed, the power lamp turns off.
    When charging with a DC 5V/2A USB AC adapter, the charging time is as follows: Charging time varies depending on the usage environment and conditions.

Turning on the unit

Press the power button.
The unit is turned on (power lamp: glowing white).

Listening to audio from a Bluetooth® device

1 On the Bluetooth device, enable the Bluetooth function.
2 On the Bluetooth device, select this unit from the Bluetooth device list.
3 Play audio such as a music file on the Bluetooth device.
The unit will begin playing the audio from the Bluetooth device.

NOTE

  • If other Bluetooth devices have been connected before, the unit will connect to the last connected device when the unit is turned on. To connect a new Bluetooth device, disconnect the currently connected Bluetooth device and then connect the new device.
  • To terminate the Bluetooth connection from this unit, press the volume + and − buttons simultaneously for at least five seconds.

Controlling the unit

The unit’s buttons can also be used while the unit is connected to the Bluetooth device.

Play/Pause button
The song is played and paused each time the button is pressed.
Press the button twice quickly during playback to skip to the next song, or three times to skip backward to the previous song. Skipping behavior varies depending on the Bluetooth device.

Volume buttons
Adjust the volume.

Clear Voice button
When the Clear Voice function is enabled, the Clear Voice lamp glows, and the human voices within the audio can be heard more easily.

Updating the unit’s firmware

New firmware may be provided for this unit for additional features or product improvements. Update the firmware as follows.

Requirements

  • USB flash drive (commercially available)
  • Computer that can be connected to the Internet
  • Convertor attachment (supplied)
  1. Charge the unit.
    The unit must be fully charged before updating.

  2. Download the firmware on your computer.

  3. Update according to the instructions on the website.
