Introduction
Obtain the driver’s report card detailing your teen’s driving performance for the day. Users of MOTO safety have even gotten insurance rate reductions by giving their providers their report cards. You can check your teen’s whole driving path for the day at the end of each day to see where risky driving took place. Parents may track the whereabouts of their teen driver in real time with MOTO safety. The device records crucial safe driving behaviors like speeding, abrupt braking and quick acceleration via GPS tracking. When a vehicle enters or is present in areas that you have marked on a map (this is a geofence), the system will notify you. A geofence can be a place of employment, a school, or even a friend’s home.
HOW IT WORKS
A typical OBD GPS tracker gadget gets its power from the OBD port and has a GPS module and built-in antenna to pick up the GPS signal. OBD trackers also interface with many vehicle subsystems to obtain information about fuel economy and vehicle diagnostics.
HOW TO USE
- STEP 1: ACTIVATE YOUR DEVICE To set up your account and register your device, go to the URL listed in your onboarding guide.
- STEP 2: DON’T FORGET THE MONTHLY FEE Yes, a small monthly cost is necessary to access the 4G network for GPS tracking (just like a cell phone).
- STEP 3: INSTALL YOUR DEVICE Plugging our gadget into the OBDII port under the dashboard completes the installation in a matter of seconds (works with all vehicles made after 1996).
- STEP 4: GET TRACKING! Use your tracker right away, or download our mobile app and configure it with particular notifications as needed.
HOW TO DETECT IF GPS TRACKER IS PLACED IN THE CAR
Examine the front and rear wheel wells with a flashlight. To feel for things that aren’t immediately visible, use your hand. Look beneath plastic coverings that don’t need to be removed since if a tracker is found in the wheel well, its magnet will need to be linked to a metal component.
FAQs
How much is the monthly monitoring fee?****
Our monthly monitoring service is $19.99 a month. This monthly monitoring service includes features such as: GPS vehicle tracking, driving alerts, a daily report card, curfew hours and geofencing capabilities.
Does it work in Mexico?****
Currently our device works in the United States only.
Can you unplug this from one family vehicle and use it on another?****
Yes, I have am also using it on a vehicle older than 1996 with a OBD2 power adapter.
How is it installed?****
The plug in unit installs simply by plugging into the OBDii port of the vehicle. This port is within 2 feet of the steering wheel and is standard in any vehicle 1996 or newer.
I’ve seen some complaints of it not working with some cars. Is it compatible with 2009 Toyota Corolla?****
Our device should work in any vehicle 1996 or newer. That being said some manufactures build in their programming that nothing should be put in the OBDii port but mechanic’s computers when you are receiving maintenance so if you have something else plugged in (any GPS vehicle monitor) it will list it as a malware device and thinks the car needs to shut down. This is a very rare occurrence and unfortunately is on car by car basis.
does this item have battery?****
No. However it does plug into the obd2 port under your dashboard. It is not supposed to drain your vehicle battery; however in our 2001 Honda Van it will discharge the vehicle battery if the vehicle is not driven in 5-7 days. This may not be the case in newer cars but in our case it does.
The unit absolutely drains my battery. Does anyone have a similar experience or a fix?****
I had similar problem 2 years ago. I spoke to their support staff and they said there was a fix available. I did not implement as we discontinued use for other reasons not related to the device. I’m currently considering reinstalling a tracker and called their support staff to see if there was a permanent fix. Staff indicated there’s a software patch that can be applied when this happens.
Does the report or alert give exact location of where the driver was when the speed limit was breeched? Or does it only show the area?****
Not “exact”, but it shows an arrow that identifies speed and location at set time intervals, so it’s reasonably close and you can see if it was short lived or sustained.
Do you guys offer a 30-day money back guarantee If not completely satisfied with your product?****
We do have a 30 day guarantee.
Will it work on a 2008 Saturn?****
Yes our device will work in a 2008 Saturn!
How to program the gps in the car moto safety****
You don’t program anything. It is connected to the car’s electrical system via easy plug in. And you pay a small monthly amount for gps monitoring.
Does it send a notification if it is unplugged****
When a device is unplugged, it is receiving no power so it is impossible for the unit to send an alert. However, you will stop seeing any tracking data for a device that has been unplugged. You can, however, receive an alert when a device is reconnected. This provides a good system for monitoring disconnected devices.
