Safety instructions

Read the instruction manual carefully before using this device, especially the safety instructions, and keep the instruction manual for future use. Should you give this device to another person, it is vital that you also pass on these instructions for use.

Power supply

  • Before connecting the device to your power supply, please ensure that it is switched off and the supply voltage stated on the rating plate is compatible with your mains supply.
  • The device may only be operated with the supplied components (control unit, power bank).
  • Keep the cable and device away from heat, hot surfaces, moisture and liquids.
  • After use, always switch off the appliance using the button on the control unit.
  • Never carry, pull or turn the device by the cable.
  • Make sure that no one can trip over the cable. Risk of entanglement and strangulation! Do not bend, pinch or twist the cable.

For special people

  • Do not use the device on children or persons who are disabled, asleep or insensitive to heat (persons who cannot react on overheating).
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance.
  • Children below the age of 3 years are not allowed to use this device, because they are not able to react on overheating.
  • If you wear a pacemaker, please be aware that the electromagnetic fields emanating from this electric product may, under certain circumstances, interfere with the functions of your pacemaker. Therefore, ask your doctor and the manufacturer of the pacemaker for advice before using this product.
  • If you have any health concerns, talk to your doctor before use.

Operating the device

  • Only use the device for its intended use as in the instruction manual.
  • If misused, all guarantee rights shall become null and void.
  • The device is suitable for indoor use only.
  • Before each use, carefully check the article for signs of wear and/or damage. Do not operate the appliance if you notice wear, damage or signs of improper use.
  • If an error occurs, check that the power supply is properly established. Do not open the unit. There are no user-serviceable parts inside the unit.
  • Use the product only in the correct location as described in this manual.
  • Do not immerse the device in water or other liquids.
  • If liquid does enter the device, disconnect the power supply immediately.
  • Do not use the device in a wet environment (e.g. in the bathroom or similar).
  • Do not keep or place any electrical device on a surface where it is in danger of falling into a bathtub or sink.
  • Do not use the device while you are sleeping or lying in bed. Danger of burns or heat stroke!
  • The device is not suitable for medical use (e.g. in hospitals).
  • Very long periods of use can cause overheating. Always allow the appliance to cool down before using it again.
  • Never operate the appliance unattended.
  • Do not attach safety pins or other pointed or sharp objects to the appliance or prick it.
  • Do not cover the unit when it is on. Never use it under blankets or pillows. There is a risk of fire, electric shock and injury.
  • Never store or use the appliance near an electric cooker or other heat sources.

Maintenance and cleaning

  • Do not repair the unit yourself in the event of a fault. Repairs may only be carried out by an authorised dealer or a suitably qualified person.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
  • When storing the appliance, allow it to cool down before storing it.
  • Do not place any objects on top of the item during storage to avoid sharp kinks.

Scope of supply

Please check first of all that the device is complete and is not damaged in any way. In case of doubt, do not use the it and contact your dealer or your service centre. The following parts are included:

    If you notice any transport damage during unpacking, please contact your dealer without delay.

WARNING
Please ensure that the polythene packing is kept away from the reach of children! Risk of suffocation!

Operating

  1. Connect the activated Powerbank to the connector 1 using the connecting cable.
  2. Put on the heated cape and close the magnetic closure on the front.
  3. Press the On/off switch 2 to turn on the unit. The heat turns on at the highest or last used level.
  4. By pressing the heat buttons 3 and 4 you can switch between heat levels 1, 2 or 3 for upper and lower zone. By pressing the Timer button 5 you can switch between the running times 20, 40 or 60 minutes. If no running time is set, the unit switches off automatically after 40 minutes (default setting).
  5. To switch off the unit manually, press the On/off switch 2.

Powerbank

The rechargeable powerbank must be fully charged before first use. To do this, use a standard mains plug with 5V USB output socket and the Micro-USB cable. Briefly pressing the on/off switch 7 displays the charge status: Green = 66 – 100%; Yellow = 33 – 66%; Red = 5 – 33%; if the battery is less than 5% charged, a red blinking light appears.
To switch on the Powerbank and activate the power supply for the device, you must press and hold the On/Off switch 7 for about 3 seconds. To switch off, the On/Off switch 7 must also be pressed again for about 3 seconds

Troubleshooting

If there is no function AT ALL after switching on, please check whether the power supply is correctly established. If this is the case, the device is defective. Please do not use the device and contact the service center.

Cleaning and maintenance

  • Before cleaning, disconnect the power supply and allow the appliance to cool down for at least 10 minutes.
  • Hand wash: Soak in mild soap and cold water for 15 minutes. Rinse in fresh, cold water.
  • Keep the cable and control unit away from heat, hot surfaces, moisture and liquids.
  • Do not wring or rub the product during or after cleaning!
  • May not be bleached, ironed or dry cleaned!
  • Do not use the article again until it is completely dry.
  • Untwist the cable if it is twisted.
  • Store the unit in a clean and dry place, laid out flat with nothing covering or resting on top of it.

Disposal
This product must not be disposed of together with domestic waste. All users are obliged to hand in all electrical or electronic devices, regardless of whether or not they contain toxic substances, at a municipal or commercial collection point so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner. Do not dispose of old batteries resp. the powerbank with your household waste, but at a battery collection station at a recycling site or in a shop. Consult your municipal authority or your dealer for information about disposal.

Warranty and repair terms

Please contact your dealer or the service centre in case of a claim under the warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is. The following warranty terms apply:

  1. The warranty period for medisana products is three years from date of purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.
  2. Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of charge within the warranty period.
  3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for the unit or for the replacement parts.
  4. The following is excluded under the warranty:
    • All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non-observance of the user instructions.
    • All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties.
    • Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre.
    • Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear.
  5. Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit are excluded even if the damage to the unit is accepted as a warranty claim.
