Please read and follow all instructions and safety guidelines in this manual.
Warning:
Risk of Electrical Shock
Medical
- The speaker generates magnetic fields, which can interfere with the functioning of medical devices such as pacemakers.
- Always keep a distance of at least 3.9 in / 10 cm between a medical device and the speaker. Please consult your physician if you have any questions.
General Use
- Only use the speaker as described in this user manual. Any other use may result in property damage or risk of injury.
- Do not use the speaker in environments where there is a risk of explosion, such as areas of excessive humidity or power surges.
- Only use the speaker where wireless transmissions are permitted.
- Do not use the speaker on or near any heat sources such as radiators, heat vents, stoves, or other apparatuses (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- Do not allow the charging cable to come into contact with hot surfaces.
- Keep the charging cable out of areas where people walk often. Place the cable where it will not be tripped over.
- The speaker is intended to be used only with the charging cable provided by the manufacturer.
- Unplug the speaker during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
- To maintain the safety of the speaker, only a qualified repair person using identical replacement parts should service the speaker.
- To disconnect the speaker from AC power, disconnect the charging cable from the wall outlet.
- This speaker is not to be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the speaker by a person responsible for their safety.
- The speaker is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with the speaker.
- Do not use the speaker if it is damaged, not working, or if the charging cable is damaged. Contact Customer Support (see page 15).
- Handle with care. Not for commercial use. Household use only.
Battery Warnings
- Improper handling of the speaker can cause the rechargeable battery to explode or cause a fire.
- Do not subject the speaker to excessive warmth or heat such as direct sunlight, fire or similar.
- Leaked battery fluid can cause chemical burns if it touches skin or other parts of the body. If you notice that battery fluid has leaked, do not allow it to touch your skin, eyes or mucous membranes.
- If you have touched battery fluid, immediately rinse the affected areas with plenty of clean water and promptly contact a physician.
- Use protective gloves to handle a leaking battery and wipe off any battery fluid with a dry, absorbent cloth.
Warning:
Risk of Hearing Loss
- Listening at a high volume for prolonged periods of time poses a risk of hearing loss. Avoid listening at a high volume for a prolonged period of time.
- Maintain adequate distance from the speaker and never hold the speaker to your ear.
- Set the volume on the playback device to a low level before starting playback on the speaker. If you set the playback device to full volume, very high noise pressure may cause organ damage and adverse psychological effects. Children and pets are particularly at risk in this respect.
Water Resistance Rating
The speaker features IPX6 water resistance, which can resist high-pressure water streams but cannot be submerged in water. You can use this speaker at any place where water exposure is possible but there is no chance of completely submerging in water.
- To ensure that the speaker is water resistant, remove all cable connections and tightly close the rubber cover.
- Exposing the speaker to liquids without closing the rubber cover may result in permanent damage to the speaker.
- Do not expose the speaker to water while charging, as doing so may result in permanent damage to the speaker or power source.
Functions & Controls
A. LED Indicator Light
- Blinking blue light indicates Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Solid blue light indicates Bluetooth is connected.
- Rapid blinking blue light indicates the speaker is at minimum or maximum volume.

- Press to increase volume.
- Press and hold to go to the next track.
C.
- Press and hold for 2 seconds to turn speaker on/off.
- Press to play/pause track.
- Press and hold for 8 seconds to restart the speaker.
D. M
- Press to cycle through connections (see Connections, page 7).
- Press and hold to enter Bluetooth pairing mode (see Bluetooth Pairing , page 8).
- Press to accept or end a call.
- Press and hold to reject a call.
E. –
- Press to decrease volume.
- Press and hold to go to the previous track.
F. Microphone
- Receives sound input during calls.
G. Battery Indicator Lights
- Each blue light represents 25% charge.
- All 4 blue lights will turn solid when the speaker is fully charged.
H. Rubber Cover
- Protects the connections from water and moisture.
- Keep the rubber cover closed to preserve the IPX6 water resistance rating.
Connections
A. AUX Input
- Plug in the 3.5 mm AUX cable to play music with a wired connection.
- The speaker will automatically switch to AUX when the cable is plugged in.
B. USB-C Port
- Charge the speaker by connecting the USB-C cable to a DC 5V adapter and plugging into an outlet. You can also charge by plugging the cable into a powered USB outlet.
- Connect the USB-C cable to a computer to transfer audio files onto a Micro SD card.
C. Micro SD Card Slot
- Insert a Micro SD card (up to 32GB) with audio files (see Transferring Files onto a Micro SD Card , page 8). If the speaker is on, it will automatically begin to play the files.
- Press and at the same time to toggle between normal playback and shuffle.
- Supported audio file formats: MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, and FLAC.
Note: Press M to cycle through Bluetooth, Micro SD card, and AUX playback. A Micro SD card or AUX cable must be inserted in order to select those playback options.
Transferring Files onto a Micro SD Card
- Press and hold the to turn the speaker off. Insert a Micro SD card into the speaker.
- Connect the speaker to your computer using the USB-C cable.
- Press the to access the Micro SD card on your computer.
- Transfer audio files from your computer onto the card.
Supported audio file formats: MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, and FLAC.
Note: You can also transfer audio files onto a Micro SD card using other methods, such as a Micro SD card adapter.
Bluetooth Pairing
- Press and hold to turn the speaker on.
- The LED indicator light will blink when the speaker is in pairing mode. To manually put the speaker in pairing mode, press and hold M.
- Enable the Bluetooth on your phone or audio player.
- Navigate to Bluetooth settings and scan for discoverable devices.
- Connect to the speaker named: Etekcity VivaSound
Using the Bluetooth Speaker
Note: Fully charge the speaker before first use. When fully charged, the 4 battery indicator lights will turn solid.
- Press and hold to turn the speaker on.
- The speaker will automatically connect to the last paired device. If the last paired device is not available, it will go into Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Play music or audio files from the connected device and it will play on the speaker.
- Optionally, play music or audio files from an AUX cable or Micro SD card (see Connections , page 7).
- Adjust volume, navigate tracks, and accept or reject phone calls using the controls (see Functions & Controls, page 6).
Note:
- To manually put the speaker in pairing mode, press and hold M.
- Optionally, press the while in pairing mode to reconnect to the last paired device.
True Wireless Stereo (TWS) Pairing
With TWS pairing, the speaker can connect to another Etekcity VivaSound™ Portable Bluetooth® Speaker to provide left and right stereo sound.
- Power on both speakers.
- Place both speakers in Bluetooth pairing mode.
- On one speaker, press and at the same time. This will become the left speaker.
- A stereo link will automatically be established with the other speaker, making it the right speaker.
- Connect your phone or audio player to the left speaker and begin playback.
- To disconnect the speakers, press and at the same time on either speaker. Then, repeat with the other speaker.
Note:
- The TWS pairing will save and reconnect when the speakers are turned on again.
- While connected, the LED indicator light on the left speaker will show all status changes, while the LED indicator light on the right speaker will stay solid.
- Use either speaker to adjust controls such as volume and playback.
Care & Maintenance
- Store speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- To preserve the health of the battery, fully charge the speaker approximately every 6 months, even if it is not in regular use.
- Clean the surface of the speaker with a soft, dry cloth.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Possible Solution |
---|---|
Speaker has trouble connecting. | Press and hold for 8 seconds to restart |
the speaker. If a passcode is required, enter “0000”.
Bluetooth connection is unstable.| Make sure your playback device is
within 32.8 ft / 10 m of the speaker.
Make sure there are no walls or barriers between your playback device and the
speaker.
Micro SD card does not play audio.| The Micro SD card must be formatted
FAT32.
Make sure the audio files are a supported audio format: MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, or
FLAC.
Speaker has no sound.| Adjust the volume on the playback device and
speaker.
Check to see if the audio is paused or muted.
Speaker does not turn on.| Check to see if the battery power is low. If
necessary, recharge the speaker.
Speaker does not respond.| Press and hold for 8 seconds to restart the
speaker. If a passcode is required, enter “0000”.

Terms & Policy
Etekcity Corporation (“Etekcity”) warrants this product to the original purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship, under normal use and conditions, for a period of 2 years from the date of original purchase.
Etekcity agrees, at our option during the warranty period, to repair any defect in material or workmanship or furnish an equal product in exchange without charge, subject to verification of the defect or malfunction and proof of the date of purchase.
There is no other express warranty. This warranty does not apply:
- If the product has been modified from its original condition;
- If the product has not been used in accordance with directions and instructions in the user manual;
- To damages or defects caused by accident, abuse, misuse or improper or inadequate maintenance;
- To damages or defects caused by service or repair of the product performed by an unauthorized service provider or by anyone other than Etekcity;
- To damages or defects occurring during commercial use, rental use, or any use for which the product is not intended;
- To damages or defects exceeding the cost of the product.

This warranty does not extend to products purchased from unauthorized sellers. Etekcity’s warranty extends only to products purchased from authorized sellers that are subject to Etekcity’s quality controls and have agreed to follow its quality controls.
All implied warranties are limited to the period of this limited warranty.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
