What is Shiatsu massage?

Shiatsu is a form of finger pressure massage and one of the most important massaging techniques along with manual lymphatic drainage and reflexology.
This form of physical therapy was developed in Japan but stems from traditional Chinese massage. Gentle stroking and beneficial pressure application techniques are used to awaken life forces and encourage them to flow through the body. The object of the massage is not just to ease tension, but also to optimize the flow of life force and harmonize body and soul.

Useful Information

How does the medicine Shiatsu massage seat cover work?

In the medicine Comfort Shiatsu massage seat cover MC 826 you have a modern device for genuine Shiatsu or tapping style back massages in the back area. The median Comfort Shiatsu massage seat cover MC 826 has 4 rotating massage heads for Shiatsu massage of the three zones “Upper Back”, “Lower Back”, and “Full Back” as well as 2 massage heads for the neck area. The device also offers the possibility of an air massage (with 3 different intensities) for the lumbar area. The device is equipped with an additional 3-level vibration function and a red light heat function in the massage heads. The unique combination of intensive shiatsu and vibration massage with heat makes the massage seat cover an effective and relaxing treatment.
Their settings can be comfortably adjusted by means of the easy-to-handle control unit.

Operating

Usage

The use of the Shiatsu massage seat cover will improve your well-being after a stressful day. The massage effect is particularly useful for tense muscles and tired tissue. The unit provides pleasant relaxation for overcoming everyday stress.

Operation

Start-up

  • Place the massage seat cover on a high chair or armchair and attach it to this by means of the fasteners on the back.
  • Insert the plug into the main socket. Ensure that the power supply is easily accessible.
  • Take a seat on the Shiatsu massage seat cover and familiarize yourself with the functions.

Operating the unit
The Comfort Shiatsu massage seat cover MC 826 offers a soothing massage for the back, neck, and thighs as well as an air massage or the lumbar area. The additional selectable heat function can only be used together with the Shiatsu or tapping massage, during which the vibration massage (with 3 selectable intensity levels) can also be activated. Do not use the unit for more than 15 minutes at a time. The unit will switch off automatically after max. approx. 15 minutes. Always allow the unit to cool down fully before you use it again.

Use the buttons on the control pad to operate the massage seat cover:

  • Switch on the device by pressing the On/Off button 5. The power LED illuminates.
  • The buttons 6, 7, 8, and 9 control the neck massage. You may adjust the position and the rotation direction of both massage heads. The LEDs next to buttons 8 and 9 indicate, which rotating direction is active.
  • The buttons 0, q, w, e, r, and tallow a Shiatsu- or tapping massage for the back area. With the button, you may activate a spot massage (only with tapping massage).
  • When the “Upper Back” message button 0 is pressed, the LED next to the button illuminates and the Shiatsu massage heads 2 moves from the “Park” position at the base of the backrest, up to the shoulder area, massaging the back in a circular motion whilst doing so. Once the uppermost position has been reached, the direction of rotation of the massaging heads is reversed. The heads then travel down to the center of the back. Once the heads reach this point, the direction of rotation is reversed again and then travels up the back again. If you press button 0 during the massage, this function is switched off and the massage heads remain stationary in their current position.
  • If you press the “Lower Back” massage button 12, the LED next to the button illuminates. The Shiatsu massage heads 2 travel up and down the lower half of the back in a circular motion. The reversal of the direction of rotation takes place when the respective end positions are reached. Pressing the button w during the massage switches off this function and the massage heads remain stationary in their current position.
  • If you press the “Full Back” message button 12 the function procedure is similar to pressing buttons 0 and 2, except that it is for the entire back.
  • To activate a tapping massage for the selected back area, press the button e. By repeatedly pressing this button, you can change the tapping massage mode (mode 1 = constant massage, mode 2 = massage with pauses, mode 3 = alternating mode 1, and mode 2 with the change of moving direction). If mode 3 is active and you press button 13 again, the tapping massage will be switched off.
  • Button 14 (level) controls the intensity of the tapping massage. A press on the button r increases the intensity (2 = medium intensity). A second press on the button r increases the intensity again (3 = high intensity). After a button is pressed a third time, the tapping massage intensity is set back to intensity 1.
  • During the tapping massage, press button t to activate spot massage.
  • You can enhance the Shiatsu massage at any time with a vibration massage for your thighs by pressing the vibration massage button 17.
  • The vibration massage in the upper thigh area can also be operated separately by pressing the vibration massage button 17. Level indicator LED “1” next to the button lights up and both vibration massage motors are switched on. They begin with a gentle massage. Press the button again and the vibration level increases (medium intensity massage LED “2”). Press the button a third time and the maximum vibration level (highest intensity massage, LED “3”) is switched on. After the button is pressed a fourth time, the vibration massage is switched off, and LED “3” next to the button goes out.
  • To switch on the air massage for the lumbar area press button z. The LED “1” next to the button lights up (1 = low intensity). A second press on the button z increases the intensity (2 = medium intensity). A third press on button 16 increases the intensity again (3 = high intensity). After the button is pressed a fourth time, the air massage is switched off.
  • The heat function can be activated at any time with the Shiatsu or tapping massage, during which the vibration massage can also be activated. Press the heart button I to activate the function; the LED lights up. The heat is radiated through the massage heads 2. Press the button I again to de-activate the heat function; the LED goes out.
  • To switch off the device: Press the On/Off button 5. The power LED begins to flash and the massage heads travel back down to the “Park” position. When this position is reached, the LED extinguishes. If you press the On/Off button 5 when one of the massage functions is switched on, the vibration motors just stop immediately. First, the massage heads travel downwards to the “Park” position. The power LED flashes meanwhile and then extinguishes.
  • After each use, switch the device off using the On/Off switch 5 and remove the plug from the main socket.
