Please keep this instruction manual in a safe place where it is readily available. The illustrations in this manual may differ slightly from the product itself.

Important Safety Information

** Read this section thoroughly before using the product. Please ensure you observe the safety instructions to avoid accidents, injury, and damage.
Intended purpose**

  • The Welcare Sleep-Tight Sleep Sound Machine is intended to be used to settle a baby, toddler, or child to sleep by providing soothing sounds. This product can also record and play a mother’s/person’s own heartbeat, using unique Heart Sure technology via a fingertip sensor.
  • This product is not a therapeutic device.
  • This product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities or lacking experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received and understood the instructions/ safety warnings for use of the product from this person in advance.

Safety Warnings

  • Keep the product and its components out of reach of children.
  • Keep the product at least 30cm (at the lowest volume) or 100cm (at the highest volume) away from children whilst in use to prevent any noise damage to their developing ears.
  • Keep the volume on the machine below the maximum volume setting.
  • Keep children away from the packaging material.
  • DO NOT let children play with the product- it is not a toy.
  • DO NOT operate under a blanket or pillow. Excessive heating can occur and cause injury.
  • DO NOT attempt to open or disassemble the product.
  • Nail polish, false nails or dirt may interfere with the heartbeat recording and may need to be removed.

Important Safety Information – continued

  • Clean the product and fingertip sensor with a soft dry cloth only (take batteries out before cleaning).

  • DO NOT allow water to get on or inside the product or use any harsh chemical cleaning agents.

  • Only use batteries specified for the product.

  • Install the batteries carefully with the polarities in the correct position as per the markings in the battery compartment.

  • DO NOT use batteries after their expiration date, or new and used batteries together, or different brand batteries together.

  • Periodically check batteries to ensure they are in good working condition.

  • Replace worn batteries with new ones immediately.

  • Dispose of the old batteries according to current local regulations.

  • Remove batteries carefully if the product is not going to be used for a long period of time.

  • If battery fluid gets in your eyes or touches your skin, immediately rinse with plenty of water and consult a healthcare professional.

  • DO NOT throw batteries into fire.

  • DO NOT expose the product to temperatures of over 60°C

  • DO NOT use or store the product in the following conditions:
    – Near sources of heat, direct sunlight, or high temperature
    — Moist or humid environments
    — Dusty locations
    — Near the fire, flammable gas, chemicals, or oxygen-rich environments
    — Locations easily subject to vibrations or shock or in a pressurized container
    — In high frequency or strong magnetic field areas – e.g. surgical equipment, MRI, CT, microwave ovens

  • DO NOT drop or place heavy objects on the product.

Note: Optional power adaptor can be used in replacement of batteries (5V DC 1A). The power adaptor is not included with this machine.
Before Using the Sleep Sound Machine

  • Check the product is intact. DO NOT use if broken.
  • Remove battery compartment cover. Insert the 3 x AA batteries carefully with the polarities in the correct position as per the markings in the battery compartment and place the cover back on.

Using the Sleep Sound Machine

  • Turn the product on or off by pressing the Power Button.
  • Use the + and — buttons to adjust the volume (7 levels including mute).
  • A heartbeat Recording Button is used to collect and record the heartbeat.
  • Timer Button   can be set to play for 15 mins, 30 mins, 60mins, or continuously.
  • 6 relaxing sounds are available to choose from using the buttons. The Lullabies button contains 4 lullabies to choose from.

Recording the heartbeat:

Note: Nail polish or false nails may interfere with the recording and may need to be removed.

  1. Plug the heartbeat fingertip sensor into the USB socket.

  2. Open the fingertip sensor and insert any clean finger. Ensure the fingertip is touching and covers the inside LED light and then gently close to secure finger as shown below.

  3. Press the Heartbeat Recording Button Hold still while the sensor is detecting a heartbeat (approximately 20 seconds).

  4. Once the recording is complete, the recorded heartbeat sound plays automatically on a repeating function. Once the recording is finished remove the finger from the sensor.

  5. Unplug the fingertip sensor from the main unit and store it in a safe place away from children.

Choosing a lullaby:
Lullabies include:

  • Sleepy Lullaby
  • Brahms Lullaby
  • Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
  • Soothing Music Box Lullaby
  1. Enter Lullabies mode:
    Hold down the Lullabies Button for 3 seconds until you hear a beep.

  2. Choose Lullaby:
    Press repeatedly to choose 1 of 4 lullabies.
    Press the Lullabies button again to choose and listen to the next Lullaby. Proceed to step 3 once you have decided which lullaby to use.

  3. Save Lullaby:
    Hold down the Lullabies Button for 3 seconds again until you hear another beep to save your choice.

Note – when you are in the ‘Choose Lullaby’ mode, you will not be able to switch between the other Sound Buttons until you have saved your lullaby choice. If the batteries are removed, the unit will revert to the default sound.
Setting the timer:
Press the Timer 0 Button to set the sleep timer.
– Greenlight indicates 15 minutes
– Orange light indicates 30 minutes
– Red light indicates 60 minutes
– No light indicates continuous playing
Note: Changing sounds will reset the timer.

Maintenance

Cleaning:

  • Clean the product and fingertip sensor with a soft dry cloth only (take batteries out before cleaning).
  • DO NOT allow water to get on or inside the product or use any harsh chemical cleaning agents.

Storage:

  • Wipe away any dirt and dust from the product.
  • Store in a safe cool dry place, away from children as per Safety Warnings.
  • DO NOT place any heavy objects on the product.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
The product cannot be powered on. Batteries have run out of power. Replace

the batteries.
  Batteries may be installed incorrectly.| Please insert the batteries with the polarities in the correct direction as per the markings in the battery compartment.
The power Button is flashing.| Low battery indicator.|  Replace the batteries.
The unit automatically turns off.| There may be insufficient power left in the batteries.|  Replace the batteries.
 Heartbeat will not record.| The finger is not inserted correctly into the sensor.| Retry by inserting the finger according to the instructions on page 9.
  The finger or body is moving|    Keep still while heartbeat recording is being obtained.
 The fingernail may be dirty or covered with nail polish or false nails.| Remove any dirt, nail polish or false nails from the fingernail.

This Welcare Sleep-Tight product is warranted to be free of manufacturing defects for 1 year from the date of purchase. This warranty is void if the product is modified, altered or subject to misuse or abuse, damaged in transit or lack of responsible care, is dropped, if damage occurs by reason of failure to follow the written instruction booklet enclosed, or if product repairs are carried out without authority from J.A. Davey Pty Ltd.
We will repair, or at our option replace free of charge, any parts necessary to correct material or workmanship, or replace the entire unit and return to you during the period of the warranty. Otherwise, we will quote for any repair which will be carried out on acceptance of our quotation.
The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all other rights and remedies in respect of the product, which the consumer has under the trade practices act and other state or territory laws in Australia and New Zealand.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian and New Zealand Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Please note the batteries are not covered under warranty.
