Safety Information

Precautions

Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble install and operate this smart light fixture.

This smart light fixture requires 110-220 volt AC.

Installation and wiring should be performed by a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to perform installation if you are not familiar with hardwired electrical connections.

Improper installation can lead to loss of warranty.

This smart light fixture must be properly grounded.

This light fixture is intended for use with the enclosed gasket and with a junction box marked for use in wet locations.

For proper operation, this smart light fixture should be:

  • Installed outdoors to a wall or eaves
  • Installed 8 ft. (2.4m) above the ground (if the light fixture is mounted higher than recommended height, aiming the sensor down will reduce the coverage area.)

Turn the power off at the circuit breaker or fuse. Place tape over the circuit breaker switch and verify power is off at the light.

WARNING: Risk of fire. Keep the bulbs at least 2 in. (51mm) from combustible materials.

WARNING: Keep the motion sensor at least 1 inch (25mm) away from the bulbs.

WARNING: To avoid water damage and risk of electric shock, the motion sensor control must be facing the ground when installation is complete.

WARNING: Burn hazard. Allow the light fixture and the bulb to cool before touching.

WARNING: Do not connect the light fixture to a dimmer switch or timer.

Shut power off at the breaker

Find the breaker that controls the circuit for the junction box where the floodlight will be installed. Turn it off before you continue installation.

Place tape over the circuit breaker switch and verify power is off at the light.

Note: you can use the circuit tester at this point to verify that power is cut off.

Determine the location

With the power off at the breaker, carefully remove any existing light fixture from the junction box.

Make sure to label the wires (ground, line or phase and neutral) from existing fixture prior to removing.

Note: If there wasn’t a light fixture previously installed, then professional wiring installation will be required prior to proceeding to the next step. Seek  technical help in this case.

Prepare your floodlight camera for installation

Loosen the knobs on the light fixtures to rotate them out of the way and allow access to the mounting screws.

Rotate the camera to adjust the viewing angle in the desired direction.

  • Users can hang floodlight camera upside down (eave mount) or install it vertically on the wall.
  • Select the installation method that best suits the position of your junction box.
Mounting bracket installation
  • Attach the mounting plate to your junction box using the supplied screws. The concaved side of the mounting plate must face outwards.
  • Make sure that the wires are positioned away from the mounting plate to avoid pinching the cables.
  • Run the cables of the floodlight fixture through the waterproof gasket.
  • Using the correct polarity, match each wire from the floodlight camera with those coming from the junction box.

Make sure to follow the wiring configuration:

  1. Neutral wire (white) on camera to neutral on junction box.
  2. Ground wire (yellow/green) on camera to ground on junction box.
  3. Line/phase wire (black) on camera to line/phase on junction box.
  • Connect the wire ends of each pair into the wire nut, then twist each nut full turns until the connection is fully secured. Repeat this step for each cable assembly.

Note: make sure that there is no wire exposed.

Mounting bracket installation Figure 2

  • Push all the excess wiring into the junction box.

Note: make sure all the wires are positioned in an organized manner and away from the edges of the junction box and the mounting bracket, to avoid pinching any of them with the base of the camera, prior to completing the process.

  • Proceed to align the floodlight camera base on the junction box, so that it is oriented correctly.
  • Insert the center screw through the base and into the mounting hole on the junction box. Secure the base firmly in place.
  • Use the screw cap to cover the center screw to prevent it from rusting.
Restore power at the breaker
  • Turn the breaker that controls the circuit for your floodlight to switch it back on Remove the tape over the circuit breaker switch and turn the  power ON at the circuit breaker or fuse. Verify power is ON at the floodlight light.

Note: If the fixture is not ON, check if the light fixture is controlled by a switch in your home. In that case, move the switch to its ON position for power.

  • After restoring power, the lights will turn on and your floodlight camera will notify you with a tone that has entered into the setup mode.

How to insert the microSD ™M card

The WiFi camera comes with a built-in card slot located at the back of the unit, which supports a microSD™ card of up to 128GB.

Once you insert the storage card, the camera will automatically start recording and storing videos on that memory. This type of card will normally store about one month of continuous video footage.

Step 1: Gently lift the rubber cover protecting the compartment on the back of the camera.

Step 2: Insert the microSD™M card. Make sure you insert it in the correct direction inside the slot.

Step 3: Put the cover back by pushing it down with your thumb until it tightly closes the compartment.

Note: Failure to complete step 3 can lead to water damage on the device.
