**To apply this static cling window film successfully, please follow the
tips below:**
- Keep the window and film extremely wet during installation process. If it becomes dry, re-wet it completely before applying film.
- When you squeegee out all bubbles, please use the cloth as a cushion between the squeegee and the film to avoid making scratches.
- Application is easier with two people, especially on larger windows (3-4 feet wide).
- Apply film to cool shaded windows when glass temperature is between 45-90℉. For best results, do not apply in direct sunlight or freezing weather.
- The best time for installing is early morning or evening when the glass is cooler.
- Make your windows or glass doors extremely clean, make sure there’s no glue residue or dust.
- Cut the film to a size of 2-3mm from the window frame, pick up a corner at the edge, re-spray and paste, and scrape the bubble.
IMPORTANCE:
- Do not apply any film to frosted, treated, etched, stained glass, or any otherwise flawed or defective glass.
- Do not apply the film to motor vehicle windows.
- Handle the film carefully while installing to avoid wrinkles or creases, which can’t be removed.
- If you notice imperfections such as air bubbles or debris between the film and the glass, simply peel the affected area of the film away from the glass and use the tip of your utility knife or squeegee to remove any debris or bubble.
- Make sure you have removed the transparent backing film and paste the smooth side to the window, or it will not cling.
- Do not affix tapes, suction cups, stickers, etc. to the film surface. Doing so will reduce the low impassivity properties of the film and will void your product warranty.
- DO NOT WASH newly installed windows for 30 days to allow adhesion to build.
Remarks:
- The privacy effect will be different as the light and angle changes.
- Single plane fluoroscope: One-way perspective refers to the strong light intensity side can’t see the dark side of the light, which means when indoor light is stronger than outdoor, people outside can see people inside. In general, people outside can’t see people inside during daytime.
- Different effect between daytime and night: The outside glass will show a mirror effect as well as keep your privacy during daytime, when evening indoor light is stronger, then the glass outside will lose mirror effect as well as outside people can see inside.
- Mirror effect: The mirror effect we said means it has a slightly reflective effect, not totally like a mirror.
FAQs:
Q: Will this film protect cotton fabric from fading that is stored in a
closet with a window?
A: I have it on a west sliding glass door. Minimal light comes through. I have
fabric verticals and they haven’t faded. I can’t think anything would fade. My
contractor says this is the best he has seen. I highly recommend.
Q: Does the application tool come with it?
A: No, you need to buy installation kit.
Q: I am a person who is used to sleeping during the daytime, will this keep
sun out?
A: It blocks direct sun but allows a little light in, from outside you can’t
see inside during the day.
Q: Is the film difficult to apply?
A: Anyone can install window film, but there may be a learning curve.
It will be easier once you practice with a smaller window first.
