GET TO KNOW YOUR HOT PADDLE BRUSH

WARNING: The hot paddle brush will get very hot within a few seconds and should not come in contact with skin after it is turned on.

USER MAINTENANCE

Your hot brush is virtually maintenance free. No lubrication is needed. Keep all vents and openings clear of dirt and dust. If cleaning becomes neces-sary, disconnect the hot brush from the power source, let it cool, and wipe exterior with a cloth. If any abnormal condition occurs, unplug the hot brush, allow it to cool, and return it for repair to an authorized service center only. No repairs should be attempted by the consumer.

CAUTION
NEVER allow the power supply cord to be pulled or twisted. Never wrap the cord around the hot brush. Damage will occur at the high flex point of entry into the hot brush, causing it to rup-ture and short circuit. Inspect the cord frequently for damage. Stop use immediately if damage is visible or if unit stops or operates intermittently.

STORAGE
When not in use, your appliance should be dis-connected, allowed to cool, and stored in a safe, dry location, out of reach of children. Do not jerk or strain cord at plug connections. Do not wrap the line cord around the appliance. Allow the cord to hang or lie loose and straight at the point of entry into the appliance.

IF YOU THINK THE POWER IS OFF WHEN THE SWITCH IS OFF, YOU’RE WRONG.

Everyone knows that electricity and water are a dangerous combination. But did you know that an electric appliance is still electrically live even if the switch is off? If the plug is in, the power is on. So when you are not using your appliances, keep them unplugged.

LIMITED FOUR-YEAR WARRANTY (U.S. AND CANADA ONLY)

Conair will repair or replace (at our option) your unit free of charge for 48 months from the date of purchase if the appliance is defective in work-manship or materials.
To obtain service under this warranty, return the defective product to the service center listed on back, together with your purchase receipt and $7.50 for postage and handling. California residents need only provide proof of purchase and should call 1-800-3-CONAIR for shipping instructions. In the absence of a pur-chase receipt, the warranty period shall be 48 months from the date of manufacture.
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, OBLIGATIONS, OR LIABILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALL BE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE 48-MONTH DURATION OF THIS WRITTEN, LIMITED WARRANTY. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you. IN NO EVENT SHALL CONAIR BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CON-SEQUENTIAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF THIS OR ANY OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WHATSOEVER. 12. Never block the air openings of the appliance or place it on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where the air openings may be blocked. Keep the air openings free of hair, lint and other debris.
13. Do not use an extension cord with this appliance.
14. Do not touch hot surfaces of the appliance. Use handles or knobs.
15. Do not attempt to touch the housing of your appliance near the heat plate, as it is hot when in use.
16. TO AVOID TANGLING, NEVER ROLL THE HAIR AROUND THE HOT BRUSH MORE THAN TWO TIMES.
17. Do not operate with a voltage converter.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

This styling brush is intended for household use. Use on Alternating Current (60 hertz) only. This unit is designed to be operated at 120V AC.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fi t in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fi t fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fi t, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
NOTE: DO NOT USE THIS STYLING APPLIANCE ON HAIR EXTENSIONS.

GETTING STARTED

• The brush’s 3 high heat temperature settings and Instant Heat technology provide unique styling versatility for all hair types. If you have
• fine hair, a low temperature will provide the best results. If you have thick or wavy hair, keep the heat setting on high. You can vary the brush’s temperature according to your particular need!

Temperature Setting Guide

STYLING WITH THE DIAMOND-INFUSED CERAMIC-CERAMIC EASY-GLIDE PADDLE

Diamond Brilliance® combines luxuriously smooth diamond-infused ceramic with advanced ionic technology. The diamond-infused ceramic-coated surface helps smooth down fly aways and frizz. It evenly distributes heat so that the style you create has a salon-perfect, silky smooth, shiny finish.
The unique combination of heated diamond-infused ceramic and silicone bristles provides better contact and superior styling for beautifully defi ned, lasting results. The metal bristles retain heat while styling, and the silicone bristles add shine.

IONIC TECHNOLOGY

The heat-activated hot paddle brush also includes a powerful, high-voltage ion generator. The advanced ion generator generates up to 50% more ions to:

• reduce fly aways and frizzy hair
• eliminate static electricity
• enhance shine

NOTE: The unit may produce a clicking sound at times, which is normal for a high output ion generator.

TO STYLE HAIR

The hot paddle brush is perfect for everyday, styling and touch-ups. Simply slide the switch to choose the temperature setting and follow these steps to detangle and smooth hair.

1. Ensure hair is fully dry. Use a hairbrush to remove any tangles from the hair and create your part, getting ready for styling.

2. Place the heated brush underneath the hair section close to the roots with the bristles pointing upward. Use your other hand to pull the hair section taut against the heated plate until the bristles penetrate through the hair.

3. Glide the heated brush steadily down toward the ends of the hair. Continue to use the other hand to keep the hair taut, sliding it down the section ahead of the brush.
   Please note: The hand sliding down the hair section must not be too close to the brush to avoid any heat contact.

4. As the heated brush nears the end of the hair, release the section with the other hand and turn the heated brush under to give shape at the ends of the hair.

5. To finish your style and smooth the top of the hair, place the heated brush on the top of the hair section. Use the other hand to pull the section upward and taut against the heated plate until the bristles penetrate through the hair. Take care to avoid pressing the heated plate against the scalp.

6. Glide the heated brush down toward the ends of the hair, using the other hand as before to keep the section taut.

7. As the heated brush nears the end of the hair, release the hair section from the other hand and brush through to the ends.

Never leave your hot paddle brush on and unattended. However, should you fail to turn it off, it will shut itself off automatically within 60 minutes.
