OPERATION GUIDELINES

NOTE: Before using Popcorn Maker for the first time, we recommend you clean the unit following the instructions under CARE AND CLEANING.

  • Remove the transparent cover from the main body.
  • Using the measuring spoon provided, measure one level spoon of popping corn and place it into the main chamber. One measuring spoon of kernels will make approximately 3 cups of popped corn. Do not use more than one spoon of corn in your Popcorn Maker at once. NEVER PLACE BUTTER, OIL, OR SALT IN THE POPPING CHAMBER.
  • Reposition the transparent cover so it sits firmly on the body of the unit.
  • Place the measuring spoon in position on the top of the transparent cover.
  • If the butter is required, place up to 2 tablespoons of chopped-up butter in the measuring spoon. While the corn is popping, the butter will begin to melt.  When the popping has stopped, turn the unit off and allow the butter to melt for a further 3 minutes on top of the unit. For the best result, we recommend the use of butter kept at room temperature.
  • Place a large bowl beneath the Popcorn Makers chute to catch the popped corn.
  • Insert the plug into an AC220-240V, 50Hz power outlet and switch the power on.
  • Turn the ON/OFF switch to the ON position.
  • The Popped corn will shoot out the chamber and into the bowl.

CAUTION: Do not touch the popcorn maker cover during or immediately after operation. The unit will be extremely hot.
Do not operate the popcorn maker for more than 5 minutes at a time. Allow a 10 minutes break between cooking the second cycle of popped corn. This will allow the unit’s motor to cool down.

  • When the rate of popping becomes less than about 1 per second, turn the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position. Allow the unit to cool for at least 2  minutes before removing the transparent cover. We recommend oven mitts are used to remove the cover. Due to variations in the kernels, you may find not all kernels have popped.
  • Ensure the appliance is turned off after use. Allow cooling before re-using, cleaning, or storing.

Helpful hints:

  • This product uses hot air circulation in the popping chamber to pop the kernels. To avoid damage to your Popcorn Maker, never add butter, oil, or any other substance to the popping chamber.

  • Never use microwave popcorn in your Popcorn Maker.

  • Use only fresh popcorn kernels. Old or stale kernels may cause scorching or smoking during operation.

  • Take care when selecting the bowl for catching your popcorn.
    – A metal bowl may become hot, exercise caution when moving the bowl.
    – If using a plastic bowl, ensure it can withstand the heated air which flows from the Popcorn Maker while in use.

  • If you want to use butter, place two tablespoonfuls of butter in a measuring spoon. While the appliance makes the popcorns, the butter will melt. Once popcorns are ready, switch off the appliance and let the butter keeps melting for 3 more minutes on the appliance. After that, you should put the melted butter in the bowl with popcorn, never inside the appliance. For better results, we recommend you use butter at room temperature.

CARE AND CLEANING

  • Turn the Popcorn Maker’s ON/OFF switch to the OFF position and ensure it is unplugged from the power supply.
  • Ensure the unit has cooled fully prior to cleaning, reusing or storing.
  • Wash the transparent cover and measuring spoon in warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the internal popping chamber.
  • Clean the base of the unit with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
  • Never immerse the Popcorn Maker’s body, cord set or plug in water or any other liquid. Do not place any part of the appliance in a dishwasher.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaning products on this appliance.
  • Store the assembled appliance in a clean, dry area.

RECIPES

After making the popcorn in the Popcorn maker various ingredients can be added to the popcorn in the dish.
This allows a variety of different tasting popcorn to be made. Sweet popcorn can be made by shaking caster sugar over the popcorn while it is still hot and savory popcorn can be made by adding parmesan cheese or salt to the popcorn, for example. The recipes given below are also ideally suited for making special varieties.

Preparation: Prepare the popcorn popping as described above. In a saucepan, heat water with butter, sugar, and vanilla on medium heat, stirring until everything is well dissolved and begins to be golden. Add baking soda and coloring chosen color and keep stirring. If you are going to use different colors, spread the mixture into three bowls or bowls with the same amount in each.
Spread popcorn on a tray lined with baking paper (if several colors are used, also dived into multiple trays popcorn). Pour the caramel over the popcorn carefully all remaining covered. Let cool and serve.
