GateKeyper Interlock (GKi) GKi-704
Thank you for purchasing the GateKeyper interlock GKi-704. The GKi-704 is a part of the GateKeyper System. GateKeyper is an operator authorization system that allows a company, or organization, to control who can operate their equipment, as well as when they can operate it. The GKi-704 Bluetooth Interlock provides the link between the portal, where admin assign operators to equipment, and the mobile application, which operators utilize to access the appropriate equipment. Before using the product, you must be familiar with the equipment and its related systems in which you plan to install the GKi. You should also know and understand the operation of the GateKeyper System and its ability to control the GKi-704.

Installation

The GKi-704 must be professionally installed by a technician of the purchasing customers preference.

Color Function Details
Black 0V Must be connected to the negative side (0V) of the battery. On most

vehicles, this will also be the chassis.
Red| 12V| Must be connected to constant (not switched) source of 12 volts power. No fuse is needed.
Yellow| Ignition| Must be connected to a switched 12V source which is active (12V) when the vehicle is in use. This should generally be the ignition wire.
Orange (2)| Relay| The 2 orange wires are connected to the relay contacts. They must be connected to the signal which is opened when the vehicle is not authorized. These contacts have a 30 Amp rating. The signal which is interrupted should be selected to insure that
the vehicle cannot be started/operated when there is no continuity.
Blue| Emergency| Must be connected to a push-button (momentary contact) which provides 12V when activated. The button should be protected from unintentional use since this function can only be activated once. After this activation, the GKi must be reset by an
authorized user.
White| Spare| Do not connect.

Configuration

After installation is complete, refer to Equipment Details in the online portal to make sure that your device is correctly assigned to the vehicle in which it was installed. Please focus on the GKi-704 required attributes when confirming that the Equipment/GKi configuration is correct:

  • Serial Number
  • Authorization Key

Operation

  1. Sign into the Online Portal through the website: gatekeyper.com

  2. Go to the Equipment Database
    a. Assign Authorized Operators to the equipment with installed GKi-704

  3. Download the GateKeyper application from the Android Play Store or the iOS App Store
    a. Please instruct operators to follow the instructions from the Email or SMS text sent from GateKeyper

  4. Once in Bluetooth range of equipment with a GKi-704, follow the instructions on the app to enter the desired equipment.

  5. In case of equipment stall: GKi-704 will remain unlocked for 45 seconds to allow immediate restart of equipment

  6. To return GKi-704 to it’s original locked state:
    a. Follow the instructions on the Mobile App to Exit the Equipment
    Or
    b. Turn Equipment off wait for 45 seconds

Emergency Activation

In case of emergency, flip the emergency switch toggle located on the equipment. Equipment will now be operational for 24 hours without authorized access.
To reset Emergency Mode, access the equipment via the mobile application and respond to the series of Emergency related questions.

LED’s Indication

Color Mode Indication
Blue ON Indicates that the GKi-704 is connected over Bluetooth and is

communicating with the application
Green| ON| Indicates that the GKi-704 has authorized the equipment
Green| ON| Indicates that the Emergency Activation mode has been
triggered and that the GKi-704 has temporarily authorized the
equipment
Orange| BLINKING| Indicates that the ignition has been turned on
Orange| SHORT BLINK| Indicates that the GKi-704 is powered-up

Safety

Do not disassemble or modify the GKi device. There is no serviceable part inside. Opening the device will void the warranty and could cause malfunction to the equipment connected.

Compliance

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

  1. This device may not cause harmful interference and
  2. this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

  • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
  • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
  • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
  • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

In order to maintain compliance with FCC regulations, the existing cables must be used with this equipment. Operation with non-approved equipment or cables is likely to result in interference to radio and TV reception. The user is cautioned that changes and modifications made to the equipment without the approval of manufacturer could void the user’s authority to operate this equipment.

This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment.

IC regulatory conformance
This device complies with CAN ICES-003 (B)/NMB-003(B).
This device contains licence-exempt transmitter(s)/receiver(s) that comply with Innovation,
Science and Economic Development Canada’s licence-exempt RSS(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

  1. This device may not cause interference.
  2. This device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device.

RF Exposure
This equipment complies with IC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment.
