Set up, power and pair

Power
The speakerphone is powered on when plugged into power outlet. The power port is on the reverse side of the speakerphone.

Corded setup
Connect the USB cable from the speakerphone to the USB port on your computer.

Mobile setup

  1. With your speakerphone powered on, press the Bluetooth button for 2 seconds. You hear “pairing” and the LED flashes a crossing blue pattern.
  2. Activate Bluetooth on your mobile device and set it to search for new devices. Select “Poly Sync 60.”
  3. Pairing is successful when you hear “pairing successful” and the LED flashes blue.

Secure Connection (mobile) The Secure Connection feature provides extra security for Bluetooth calls in a conference room.
When enabled, your paired device disconnects after each mobile call, ensuring that device audio does not play through the speakerphone when not intended. Enable in Plantronics Hub.
NOTE Enabling Secure Connection disconnects previously paired devices.
1 With your speakerphone powered on and Secure Connection enabled in Plantronics Hub, press the Bluetooth button for 2 seconds. You hear “pairing” and the LED flashes a crossing blue pattern.
2 Activate Bluetooth on your device and set it to search new devices. Select “Poly Sync 60.”

3 The Bluetooth button flashes blue. Press the Bluetooth button again to confirm the connection.
Pairing is successful when you hear “pairing successful” and the LED flashes blue.
4 Make or take a mobile call or play music via Bluetooth. NOTE Continue the mobile connection by pressing any button within 30 seconds after the end of a call or music.
Video camera setup
Connect your compatible video camera to the USB-A port on the speakerphone. The power port is on the reverse side of the speakerphone.
NOTE Video camera cable not provided.

Load software

Plantronics Hub is an invaluable tool.
NOTE Some softphones require Plantronics Hub for Windows/Mac to enable device call control (answer/end and mute) functionality.

Daily Use

Answer or end a call Press the Call ‘. button to answer or end a call.
Mute/Unmute During an active call, press the Mute Ri button to mute or unmute

the microphones. Manage mute settings in Plantronics Hub.
Volume| Press the Volume up (+) or down (-) buttons to increase or decrease volume.

Place a test softphone call and adjust softphone volume and PC sound volume accordingly.
Voice assistant (smartphone feature)| Sid, Google Now’, Cortana Press and hold the Call button for 2 seconds to activate your phone’s default voice assistant. Wait for the phone prompt to activate voice dialing, search, and other smartphone voice controls.
Microsoft Teams button (Teams model only)| Press the Teams Ws button to interact with Microsoft Teams when not on a call. NOTE Not supported for mobile use. NOTE The Microsoft Teoms application must be installed.
Customize your speakerphone| Select your Rocket 4 button feature in Plantronics Hub.
Choose from:
•Play/pause audio (default)
•Device status check
•Clear trusted device list
•Default voice assistant (Sid, Google Assistant)
•Redial
•Hold/resume call
Charge your mobile phone| With the speakerphone powered on, charge up to 2 phones. Connect phone charge cable to one of 2 USB-A charging ports (cables not provided).

NOTE Connection provides power only.
Link speakerphones (daisy chain audio)
Use two Sync 40/60 speakerphones with your Bluetooth-paired mobile device. IMPORTANT Daisy chain mode is available with Bluetooth mobile device connection only. This feature is not available when your speakerphone is connected to computer with USB cable.
NOTE Daisy chain mode can be entered when both speakerphones are inactive (not in a call or streaming media).

  1. Power on both speakerphones, ensuring that both are unplugged from any computer.

  2. Pair one speakerphone to your mobile device.

  3. Wirelessly link speakerphones by pressing both Link buttons for 2 seconds. You hear “connecting” and the LEDs pulse white. Linking is successful when you hear “connection successful” and the LED flashes white on both speakerphones.

  4. Play audio or take calls.

  5. Control the system from either speakerphone.

  6. End daisy chain mode by pressing both Link buttons for 2 seconds. You hear “device disconnected.”

Update firmware

Keep your firmware up-to-date to improve performance and add new features to your Poly device. Update your firmware using your computer or mobile device with Plantronics Hub. Download at poly.com/software. While updating firmware:

  • Do not use your Poly device until the update is complete.
  • Disconnect your Poly device from paired devices such as phones, tablets and computers.
  • Do not start a second update from a second device.
  • Do not stream media on your smartphone.
  • Do not answer or place a call.
  • NOTE Smartphone: If you receive a lot of calls, emails or texts, try turning on the Do Not Disturb feature in your smartphone’s settings while you update.

Device recovery
If you have several failed attempts at an over-the-air firmware update, or if your device becomes unresponsive, take the following steps:

  1. Download and install Plantronics Hub for Windows/Mac at poly.com/software
  2. Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable
  3. Open Plantronics Hub, go to Help > Support > Firmware Updates & Recovery and enter your Product ID (PID) to complete the recovery
    Find your Product ID (PID). Choose:
    Plantronics Hub app’s device recovery instructions
    Plantronics Hub app’s home screen
