Introduction
This user manual will guide you through the functions and usages of the ROOK™
Smart Lock. It is important that you follow the instructions. Please consult
this manual before you attempt to use this lock. If you have any questions
that we haven’t answered by this manual or in need of non-routine service,
please get in touch with our service team. We’re available at
support@rooksmart.com
General Use
- Verify that all parts of the lock are accounted for. If any parts are missing, please contact us at support@rooksmart.com
- There is a protective film on the front touch panel, please remove the film after installation. The film may get in the way of the sensors, so removing the film is a must.
- Should you have any problem, please contact our team. We’ll be happy to help.
- Never apply any cleaner directly to any part of this lock. Only use clean water or mild cleaner on a soft non-abrasive cloth when cleaning.
- Potential shock warning: Do not allow water or liquids to get into the lock’s electric parts.

2-Year Electronic Warranty and Lifetime Mechanical and Finish Warranty.
This product comes with a 2-Year Warranty on Electronic Parts and a Lifetime
Mechanical and Finish Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship
under normal use to the original residential user. You must register for this
Warranty within 7 days of receiving your ROOK™ Smart Lock.

Installation Steps
STEP 1: PREPARATION
Before you Check the Dimensions, please Identify if your door is LEFT or RIGHT
Swing. For more details on DOOR HANDLING DESIGNATION refer to page 11.
STEP 2: INSTALLING DEADBOLT AND STRIKE PLATE
STEP 3: PREPARING KEYPAD
STEP 4: INSTALLING KEYPAD
STEP 5: INSTALLING MOUNTING PLATE
STEP 6: DOOR HANDLING DIRECTION
Make sure that the L/R Switch is Set Correctly as well as the Knob! NOTHING
WILL WORK IF THIS ISN’T SET CORRECTLY.
Please manually test open/close before tightening the screws.
STEP 7: CONNECT THE CABLE
STEP 8: INSTALLING INTERIOR ASSEMBLY & TESTING
STEP 9: BACK UP KEY TESTING
STEP 10: INSTALLING BATTERIES & COVER
Reset to Factory State
There is one reset button on the back panel. Press and hold this button for 5
seconds until you hear 2 quick beeps. This will erase all fingerprints and
codes, and the lock will be under factory state. The default passcode is:
123456.
