Thank you for purchasing the VTech Kidi DJ Mixer. VTech Kidi DJ Mixer features easy music creation in different styles.

WARNING
All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging locks, removable tags, cable ties, cords and packaging screws are not part of this toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety.
NOTE
Please keep this parent’s guide as it contains important information.

WARNING
The tie are not part of this toy. The tie should be removed and discarded for your child’s safety.

Unlock the packaging locks:

  1. Rotate the packaging locks 90 degrees counter-clockwise.
  2. Pull out the packaging locks.

GETTING STARTED
This product is in Try-me mode in the packaging. Press and hold the Customize sound effect button 5 for a few seconds to proceed with normal play. If the unit powers down during the play, please install a new set of batteries.

Battery Removal and Installation

  1. Make sure the unit is turned Off.
  2. Find the battery cover located on the back of the unit, use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and then open the battery cover.
  3. Remove old batteries by pulling up on one end of each battery.
  4. Install 4 new AA (AM-3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (For best performance, alkaline batteries or fully charged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are recommended).
  5. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.

WARNING:
Adult assembly required for battery installation. Keep batteries out of reach of children.

BATTERY NOTICE

  • Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -).

  • Do not mix old and new batteries.

  • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries.

  • Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.

  • Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.

  • Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.

  • Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.

  • Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
    RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES:

  • Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging.

  • Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.

  • Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.

    Press the Power Button to power on the unit. Press the button again to power off the unit.

    Connect external player

  3. EXTERNAL SPEAKER JACK
    Connect external speaker or headphone

  4. AC ADAPTER
    Connect AC adapter power

  5. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF

GAMES DJ Party

  • Launch pad buttons
    Use the Launch pad buttons to choose different instruments sounds to play. Each column allows one button to be playing. The selected option is lit up.

  • Preset sound effect buttons
    Press the Preset sound effect buttons to add build-in sound effects.

  • Style button
    Press Style button to change the music for the Launch pad buttons and Build-in sound effect buttons

  • Customize SFX buttons
    Hold to record your own short sound effect. It lights up to indicate recording in progress. Release the button when finished recording. Press and release immediately to play the recorded sound effect.

  • Turntable
    Turn the Turntable to add scratch disc sound on your music.

  • Scratch button
    Press Scratch button to choose the sound effect for the Turntable

  • Build-in button
    Press Build-in button to add human voice track onto the music. Press again to mute it.

  • Line-in button
    Press Line-in button to play the line-in device sound.

  • Bluetooth connect button and Bluetooth button
    Press Bluetooth connect button to connect a Bluetooth device. After the device is connected, press Bluetooth music button to play the Bluetooth external source sound

  • Crossfader
    Use the crossfader to adjust the volume balance between Build-in / Line-in / Bluetooth sound and the Launch pad.

  • Tempo control
    Use the Tempo control buttons to adjust. the tempo of the Launch pad music.

  • Pause button
    Press Pause button anytime to stop all sound. Press again to resume the sound.

  • Disco light control
    Use the Disco light On / Off selector to switch on or switch off the disco light.
    Use the Disco light Turn / Stop selector to turn or stop the disco light.

  • Volume control
    Use the volume control to adjust the master volume.

  • Studio
    In the main menu, choose to record or playback a track by Left, Right and OK button.

  • Record
    Select the track you would like to record. After the countdown, recording starts.
    The unit can record the Turntable, Build-in button, Launch pad, preset sound effects, customize sound effect, crossfader behaviour and tempo change status. When finish, press OK button to save your recording.
    Note: If you have customize the customize sound effect later on, the customize sound effect in the recorded track will change too.

  • Playback
    Choose the track you would like to playback by Left, Right and OK button.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

  1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
  2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat sources.
  3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
  4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to excess moisture.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If for some reason the unit stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:

  1. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
  2. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
  3. The unit should now be ready to use again.
  4. If the unit still does not work, install a new set of batteries.

Environmental Phenomena
The unit may malfunction if subjected to radio-frequency interference. It should revert to normal operation when the interference stops. If not, it may become necessary to turn the power off and back on, or remove and reinstall the batteries. In the unlikely event of an electrostatic discharge, the unit may malfunction and lose memory, requiring the user to reset the device by removing and reinstalling the batteries.
