Congratulations on the purchase of your new Wertheim Evolution MAX Stick Vacuum. There are many useful features built into your Stick Vacuum. We recommend that you carefully read this instruction manual to take the best advantage of these features.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN
This cleaner must be operated in accordance with these instructions and used
only for domestic household cleaning to remove dry dirt and dust from
household carpets, flooring, walls, and fabrics.
This cleaner is not fit to be used as an industrial cleaner and will void the
manufacturer’s warranty if used inappropriately.
Please read these instructions thoroughly
This will ensure you obtain full benefit from your new cleaner. Keep this
instruction manual in a handy place for future reference.
Important
Always switch off the cleaner before cleaning, when not in use, attempting any
maintenance task, fitting, or removing accessories. The charger adapter must
only be connected to an ac power supply at the voltage shown on the rating
label. This cleaner should only be charged with the charger provided.
This cleaner should only be used for its intended purpose as described in
these instructions.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES:

- Do not operate the vacuum cleaner too close to heaters, radiators, or other hot surfaces.
- Before inserting the plug into the wall, make sure your hands are dry.
- Before turning on the vacuum cleaner, safely remove any large objects from the floor or cleaning surface in order to prevent damage to the filter.
- When you want to remove the plug from the power socket, do not use the power cable, gently pull the plug from the power socket.
- Do not use this vacuum cleaner to pick up water or liquids.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT! Always switch off the vacuum cleaner before cleaning, when not
in use, or attempting any maintenance task. The charger must only be connected
to an AC power supply at the voltage shown on the rating label. This vacuum
cleaner should only be used for its intended purpose as described in this
instruction manual. Never operate the vacuum cleaner without filters.
When using your vacuum cleaner, basic precautions should always be observed,
including the following;

This vacuum cleaner is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the vacuum cleaner by a person responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the vacuum cleaner.

To prevent electrical shock, do not immerse the vacuum cleaner, battery or power plug into water or other liquids.

To prevent electrical shock, do not use the vacuum cleaner outdoors or on wet surfaces.

Always check the power cable before use, the power cable and the power adapter should be in a good condition and must not be damaged. If the power cable or the charger adaptor is damaged or defective, it must be replaced.

Do not unplug the charger by pulling on the power cable.
To unplug, grasp the power adapter, not the power cable, and gently pull the power adapter from the power socket.

Do not handle or operate the vacuum cleaner with wet hands. Follow electrical safety precautions at all times.

Do not attempt to change the attachments while the vacuum cleaner is switched on. Use only the manufacturer’s recommended accessories.

Never operate or use the vacuum cleaner without the filters in place.

Before vacuuming, remove any large or sharp objects from the floor or cleaning surface in order to prevent damage to the filter.

If the air inlet or floor head is blocked, switch off the vacuum cleaner straight away. Clear the blocked object before attempting to start the vacuum cleaner again.

- The vacuum cleaner is only to be used with the charger provided with the vacuum cleaner.

ASSEMBLY
Important! Always remove the power plug from the power supply before assembly.

Insert the charger stand rod into the charger base. Ensure that the rod is inserted securely into the charger base.

Place the charging dock onto the top of the charger stand rod. Push gently to ensure the dock is secure.
IMPORTANT! The cleaner must be placed in the charging dock with the rod and powerhead connected. Placing just the main unit into the charging stand will cause the charging dock to fall over, which may damage the cleaner.

Insert the power head into the rod. You will hear an audible “click” sound when it is securely in place.

Installing and removing the battery
- Insert the battery into the cleaner until it clicks into place.
- To remove the battery, press both battery release buttons and gently remove. Important! Always remove the battery from the vacuum cleaner before fitting or removing accessories.
Store battery on the charger base
- The second battery can be stored and charged simultaneously in the dock on the charger base. If both the cleaner and the second battery are connected to the charging stand, the battery in the cleaner will be charged first, followed by the second battery.
Battery indicator light:
- When all three lights on the battery are off, the battery requires charging.
- When all three lights are on, the battery is fully charged.
- When the lights are flashing, the battery is charging. The number of flashing lights corresponds to the amount of charge in the battery.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
On/off button
- Press the on/off button to turn the cleaner on or off. Once turned on, the vacuum cleaner will enter continuous mode and will run without the button being held down.
Auto mode
- Press the ‘auto’ button to enter auto mode. While in auto mode, the cleaner will automatically adjust the suction power to match the amount of dust detected.
Suction control buttons (+/-)
- Press the ‘+’ button to increase suction power and the ‘-’ button to decrease suction power. This will disable auto mode.
Charging via the charging dock

Ensure that the charger adapter is plugged into the charging dock.

Insert the cleaner into the charging dock. To charge the second battery insert the battery into the charging dock, as shown.

While the cleaner is charging, the battery indicator lights will flash. The number of flashing lights corresponds to the amount of charge in the battery. When the battery is fully charged, the indicator will show three solid lights.
CAUTION! If the machine is not connected to the rod and floor head while charging, it may fall over and cause damage.
Charging via the stick vacuum
- Insert the charger adaptor into the charging port on the cleaner. While the cleaner is charging, the battery indicator lights will flash. The number of flashing lights corresponds to the amount of charge in the battery. When the battery is fully charged, the indicator will show three solid lights.
Note: the battery charge time is between 4-5 hours. When the battery
indicator lights are off, the battery requires charging. As a safety
precaution, the vacuum cannot be switched on while the vacuum is charging.
Caution! Do not try to open the battery and repair it yourself.
Warning! The charger has been specially designed to charge the Wertheim
Evolution MAX Stick Vacuum. Do not use any other charger.

Safety precautions:
- Keep hair, hands, and feet away from rotating brushes while any motorized brush or power head is running.
- Do not run the motorized brushes or powerheads over electric cables and string.
- Do not use motorized brushes or powerheads on pets.
- If children are present, make sure to turn the vacuum off when leaving motorized brushes or powerheads unattended.
- Do not attempt to service or unclog motorized brushes or powerheads while the vacuum is running.

MAINTENANCE
Important! Always remove the battery from the cleaner before performing any maintenance.
Emptying the dust bin
- Disconnect the rod from the cleaner.
- Hold the cleaner over a rubbish bin and press the dust release button to open and empty the dust bin.
Replacing the cyclone separator

Hold the cleaner over a rubbish bin and twist the dust bin anti-clockwise to remove it.

Following the direction of the arrow, twist the cyclone separator and remove it from the cleaner.

Replace the cyclone separator with a new one. Place the dust bin back onto the cleaner and twist it clockwise until the dots line up and it clicks into place.
Cleaning the HEPA cyclone filter

Pull the filter unit from the cleaner.
-
Following the arrow, twist the cyclone filter and remove it.
-
Place the filter unit back into the cleaner, lining up the clips on each side with the grooves inside the cleaner.
It is recommended to replace the filters every 6 months or when the filters are soiled with dirt.
Cleaning the HEPA 13 exhaust filter

Twist the filter cap anti-clockwise to remove it from the cleaner.

Following the arrow, twist the exhaust filter and gently pull it out of the filter cap.

Replace with a new one and place the filter cap back onto the cleaner, twisting clockwise until it clicks into place.
It is recommended to replace the filters every 6 months or when the filters are soiled with dirt.

Cleaning hard floor powerhead
- Disconnect the powerhead from the rod.
- To release the brush roller from the powerhead, use a flat head screwdriver (not supplied) to turn the screw and unlock the cover.
- Lift the small cover to access the brush roller.
- Lift out the brush roller from the power head.
- If a build-up of debris is wound around the brush roller, remove it by carefully cutting with scissors. Avoid damaging or cutting the bristles.
- To replace, reverse steps 2 – 4. Ensure the brush roller clicks into position when placed back into the powerhead.

Cleaning combination powerhead
- Disconnect the powerhead from the rod.
- To release the brush roller from the powerhead, press the ‘push’ button and twist the side cap clockwise. Gently pull the roller from the powerhead.
- If a build-up of debris is wound around the brush roller, remove it by carefully cutting with scissors. Avoid damaging or cutting the bristles.
- To replace, carefully slide the brush roller back into place. Push the side cap down and twist it anti-clockwise simultaneously until it clicks into place.

Cleaning mini turbo brush.
- Disconnect the mini turbo brush from the cleaner.
- To release the roller brush from the mini turbo brush, use a flat head screwdriver or coin (not supplied) and turn the coin to unlock the cover.
- Lift the small cover to access the roller brush.
- Lift the roller brush from the motorized brush.
- If a build-up of debris is wound around the roller brush, remove it by carefully cutting with scissors. Avoid damaging or cutting the bristles.
- To replace, reverse steps 2 – 4. Ensure the roller brush clicks into position when placed back into the mini turbo brush.

Your Wertheim cleaner, in the case of domestic use, has a two-year part and
labor warranty against product defects and failures when the product is used
in accordance with the terms and conditions of this warranty statement.
This warranty commences from the original date of purchase and is not
transferable; please retain your original proof of purchase for any warranty
claims. This warranty is valid only in the country where the cleaner is
purchased.
The cleaner must be operated in accordance with these instructions and used
only for domestic household cleaning to remove DRY dirt and dust from
household carpets, flooring, and fabrics. This cleaner is not fit to be used
as an industrial cleaner and is not designed for the collection of vitreous
building material including particleboard, construction products, and similar
products such as wood/fibers, cement, fillers, fiberglass, etc or excessive or
frequent sand. The infrequent pick-up of these materials in these
circumstances may be harmful to your cleaner and may void the manufacturer’s
warranty. Accessories and consumables including dust bags and filters, unless
defective in manufacture, are not subject to this warranty. In order to
prolong the life of accessories and consumables, regular care and maintenance
is recommended.
When properly used and cared for, your cleaner will render excellent service;
refer to the instruction manual for further details, as misuse or failure to
follow the instructions makes this warranty void. In the event of service or
advice is needed, please contact Electrical Home-Aids Pty Ltd, Brandon Office
Park, Building 3, First Floor, 530-540 Springvale Road, Glen Waverley,
Victoria, 3150, or on 1300 360 845, Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm EST. The decision
to repair or replace the cleaner is at the sole discretion of Electrical Home-
Aids Pty Ltd. If Electrical Home-Aids Pty Ltd decides to repair or replace the
cleaner, it will do so at its own cost.
Electrical Home-Aids Pty Ltd is unable to accept responsibility under this
warranty for any repair work not carried out by an authorized Wertheim Service
Agent or from the use of non-genuine parts. If any part is no longer available
or manufactured, Electrical Home-Aids Pty Ltd will replace it with a genuine
functional replacement part. This warranty does not apply to the cost of
replacing any parts of the product due to normal wear and tear, alterations,
improper installation, physical abuse, misuse, or accidental damage. Any
transportation costs involved in the repair of defective parts shall be borne
by the claimant.
If proof of purchase cannot be provided at the time of a warranty claim or
service, any work carried out on the cleaner is chargeable. The repair of the
cleaner under this warranty does not extend the original period of warranty.
The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all other rights
and remedies in respect of the product as outlined under the Competition and
Consumer Act and other State and Territory laws.
