(For all Battery Operated Tools)
Safety Warnings
Warning!
Read and understand all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions
listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious personal
injury. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
Work Area
Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas
invite accidents.
Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
Electrical Safety
Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord to carry the tool. Keep cord away
from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts. Replace damaged cords
immediately. Damaged cords may create a fire.
A battery-operated tool with integral batteries or a separate battery pack
must be recharged only with the specified charger for the battery. A charger
that may be suitable for one type of battery may create a risk of fire when
used with another battery.
Use battery-operated tools only with a specifically designated battery pack.
The use of any other batteries may create a risk of fire.
Personal Safety
Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a
power tool. Do not use tools while tired or under the influence f drugs,
alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools
may result in serious personal injury. Dress properly.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair,
clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long
hair can be caught in moving parts.
Avoid accidental starting. Be sure the switch is in the locked or off position before inserting the battery pack. Carrying tools with your finger on the switch or inserting the battery pack into a tool with the switch on invites accidents.
Remove adjusting keys or wrenches before turning the tool on. A wrench or a key that is left attached to a rotating part of the tool may result in personal injury.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper footing and balance enable better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection must be used for appropriate conditions. Failure to do so could result in personal injury. Tool Use and Care
Use clamps or other practical ways to secure and support the workpiece to a stable platform. Holding the work by hand or against your body is unstable and may lead to loss of control.
Do not force tool. Use the correct tool for your application. The correct tool
will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it is designed.
Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn it on or off. A tool that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
Disconnect the battery pack from the tool or place the switch in the locked or off position before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the tool. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of the tool starting accidentally.
Store idle tools out of reach of children and other untrained persons. Tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause sparks, burns, or a fire.
Maintain tools with care. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the tool’s operation. If damaged, have the tool serviced before using. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained tools.
Use only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for your model. Accessories that may be suitable for one tool may create a risk of injury when used on another tool. Service
Tool service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Service or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel may result in a risk of injury.
When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the Maintenance section of this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow Maintenance Instructions may create a risk of shock or injury.
With the battery disconnected, make a daily inspection to assure free movement of safety elements and trigger. Do not use tools if the safety elements or trigger sticks or binds.
Specific Safety Rules and/or Symbols
Symbol Definitions V …..Volts— …..Direct Current
Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation
where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with
a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the
operator. SAFETY RULES FOR CHARGER & BATTERY CARTRIDGE **SAVE THESE
INSTRUCTIONS**
This manual contains important safety and operating instructions for SENCO
battery charger
Before using SENCO battery charger VB0002, read all instructions and
cautionary markings on (1) battery charger, (2) battery, and (3) product using
the battery.
CAUTION – To reduce the risk of injury, charge only SENCO Batteries. Other types of batteries may burst to cause personal injury and damage.
Do not expose the charger to water, rain, or snow.
Use of an attachment not recommended or sold by the battery charger
manufacturer may result in a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to
persons.
To reduce the risk of damage to the electric plug and cord, pull by the plug rather than the cord when disconnecting the charger.
Make sure the cord is located so that it will not be stepped on, tripped over, or otherwise subjected to damage or stress. TABLE 1 RECOMMENDED THE MINIMUM AWG SIZE FOR EXTENSION CORDS FOR BATTERY CHARGERS
An extension cord should not be used unless absolutely necessary. The use of an improper extension cord could result in a risk of fire and electric shock. If an extension cord must be used, make sure: a. That pins on the plug of the extension cord are the same number, size, and shape as those of the plug on the charger; b. That extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition; and c. That wire size is large enough for the AC ampere rating of the charger as the one specified in the table.
Do not operate the charger with a damaged cord or plug. If damaged, have replaced immediately by a qualified serviceman.
Do not operate the charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or otherwise damaged in any way; take it to a qualified serviceman.
Do not disassemble the charger pr battery cartridge; take it to a qualified serviceman when service or repair is required. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock or fire.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, unplug the charger from the outlet before attempting any maintenance or cleaning. ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR CHARGER & BATTERY CARTRIDGE
Do not charge the battery cartridge when the temperature is BELOW 10˚C (50˚F) or ABOVE 40˚C (104˚F).
Do not attempt to use a step-up transformer, an engine generator, or a DC power receptacle.
Do not allow anything to cover or clog the charger vents.
Do not use the tool without Warning Label on the tool. If the label is
missing, damaged, or unreadable, contact your SENCO representative to obtain a
new label at no cost.
A battery short can cause a large current flow, overheating, possible burns, and even a breakdown. (1) Do not touch the terminals with any conductive material. (2) Avoid storing the battery cartridge in a container with other metal objects such as nails, coins, etc. (3) Do not expose the battery cartridge to water or rain.
Do not store the tool and battery cartridge in locations where the temperature may reach or exceed 40˚C (104˚ F).
Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even if it is severely damaged or is completely worn out. The battery cartridge can explode in a fire.
Never attempt to connect two (2) chargers together.
Consecutive charging may cause overheating. If you need to recharge batteries consecutively, wait about 15 minutes for the charger to cool.
Battery leakage may occur under conditions of extreme usage or temperature. If liquid comes in contact with skin, wash quickly with soap and water, then with lemon juice or vinegar. If liquid gets in your eyes, wash with water for at least 10 minutes and seek medical attention immediately.

Functional Description
Tool Operation
Read the section titled “Safety Warnings” before maintaining the tool.
For best results, charge a new battery before using it. (see “To Charge Battery” page 12).
Loading the Tool: Insert a strip of nails into the rear of the magazine. Use only genuine SENCO fasteners (see Technical Specifications). Do not load with safety elements or trigger depression. Pull feeder shoe back.
With a “Sequentially”operated trigger, nails can only be driven one way. (1) Position safety element against work surface and (2) pull trigger…“Trigger Fire“. A slight delay (milliseconds) will occur after the trigger is pulled before the fastener is driven. Note: Once the safety element is depressed against the work surface, the trigger must be pulled within 3 seconds or the tool will not operate (Time Out). If the tool does Time Out (3 seconds), the safety element and trigger must be released to be reset. Removing the safety element from the work surface or removing finger from trigger before the fastener is driven, will cancel the drive sequence.
Should a nail jam occur, remove battery.
Release the feeder shoe and slide it forward. Remove fasteners from the tool.
Release E-Z Clear latch and open door.Remove jammed fastener. Close door and latch.
This tool is equipped with an electronic depth-of-drive dial. Turning the dial clockwise (more power) will countersink the fastener, turning the dial counter-clockwise (less power) will leave the fastener up or raised. Drive a fastener into a scrap piece of wood to test depth.
Whenever possible, hold the tool at a right angle to the work surface.
To Charge Battery
Place battery pack in charger. Align raised ribs on battery pack with groove
in charger.
Press down on battery pack to be sure contacts on battery pack engage properly with contacts in charger. When properly connected, red light will turn on. Red light indicates fast charging mode. If the red light is flashing, this indicates battery pack is deeply discharged or hot.
If battery pack is hot, red light should become steady after battery pack is cooled down. If battery pack is deeply discharged, red light should become steady after voltage is increased, normally within 30 minutes. If after one hour red light is still flashing, this indicates a defective battery pack and should be replaced. Green light on indicates battery pack is fully charged or in slow charging mode to maintain battery pack charge. Yellow light on and red light flashing indicates defective battery pack. Return battery pack to your nearest SENCO Authorized Service Center for checking or replacing.
When your battery pack becomes fully charged, the red light will turn off and the green light will turn on.
After normal usage, 1 hour of charge time is required to be fully charged. A minimum charge time of 1 to 1-1/2 hours is required to recharge a completely discharged battery pack.
The battery pack will become slightly warm to the touch while charging. This is normal and does not indicate a problem.
Battery Disposal
To preserve natural resources, please recycle or dispose of properly. This
