COMPATIBLE ALARMS

This Hearing Impaired System can be radio linked (wirelessly) to all FireHawk RF-Link Smoke Alarms (FHB10-RF), Heat Alarms (FHH10-RF), Carbon Monoxide Alarms (CO10-RF), RF-Link equipped Mains Smoke and Heat Alarms (fitted withFHN600RF RF-Link module) and one other Hearing Impaired Control Unit (FHN800HIA).

CONNECT

Apply the power supply to the Control Unit to turn on the device, the green power light will activate. If the Control Unit is not linked to any alarm devices the fault light will be on within a few seconds of powering the unit.
Plug in one or two vibrating pads or none at all for the strobe light-only option. This is important as the device will learn this configuration and trigger a fault if any pad is disconnected or damaged.

ALARM ASSEMBLY

Switch on alarm radio bases, the LED will flash green, if not please see step 6 to reset the device. Connect the radio bases to alarms for power. They will beep once and the LED will flash red twice then stop flashing.

LINKING

  1. Press the LINK BUTTON on the Control Unit, it will flash green and red indicating it is in Linking mode.

  2. Put the next device in Linking mode, it will flash red and green for a short time and will beep and stop flashing its lights when linked to the Control Unit. The FHN800HIA will flash yellow to indicate a new device has been linked.
IMPORTANT : The first time an alarm device is used it can be put into linking mode by pressing the test button on the connected alarm. If an alarm device has already been paired to a system and it is being linked to a second Control Unit, use the internal RF button to access linking mode.

  3. Repeat for each alarm in the system.

  4. Once all alarms are linked, press the “Link” button on the Control Unit to exit the linking process.

LINKED ALARMS READY FOR INSTALLATION

  1. Press the TEST BUTTON on the Control Unit, each Linked alarm will sound and the Control Unit will perform a self-hardware test. (Due to signal timings each alarm may trigger at the same time making it difficult to detect a faulty alarm).
  2. Please perform a test from each device in the system to ensure every alarm is successfully linked.
  3. Install the alarms then retest to ensure the devices are in range

LINKING ADDITIONAL ALARMS

To add a new alarm to an existing system complete step 2, 3 & 4 for all new alarms. If multiple Control Units are used in a system, step 3 must be repeated for at each Control Unit and all alarms MUST BE linked to it. Use the internal RF button on the alarm device to access linking mode.

DEVICE RESET

  1. To reset the Control Units (FHN800HIA) press and hold the “Link” Button until all lights will flash sequentially, press the “Link” button again to reset the device. This will blink all lights and return the device to factory settings.
  2. To reset an Alarm press and restore factory settings, Open the alarm device and hold down the white RF button until the light turns RED. This will restore factory settings and unlink all devices, the light will flash green twice per second.

REMOVING LINKED DEVICE

  1. Press the “Clear” Button to enter Unlinking mode, the yellow fault light and the red fire Light will flash.
  2. Put the device to be removed into Linking mode, by pressing the RF button, the green and red lights will flash for a short time and the device will beep once removed.
  3. Exit Unlinking mode by pressing the “Reset” Button
