SOLAARI 2AXTUELITE Lightsaber Elite Instructions

Operating instructions

Congratulations on the purchasing of your SOLAARI lightsaber!

Our sabers have all been specifically designed to withstand blade against blade impacts, and are suited to sporting activities.

In order to make the most of the SOLAARI experience, download the SOLAARI application for free on your smartphone now (Android and iOS).

First use

Remove the blade and the handle from the box. The batteries are already inserted in the handle.

The additional batteries (if you purchased the corresponding option) are stored in the space provide for this purpose, next to the charging device.

We recommend proceeding to the full charge of the batteries prior to the first use, using the Solaari charging device provided, connected directly to a power outlet adaptor.

A SOLAARI lightsaber has 2 distinct parts: the handle and the blade.

The handle is divided into 3 sections:

  • The hilt (central part comprising the saber’s power button),
  • the guard (top part of the handle, near the blade),
  • the pommel (lower part of the handle).
    First use

Mounting the saber

  1. Remove the guard from the hilt.

  2. Fit the blade into the handle: The blade is inserted through the top of the handle, by unscrewing the guard anti-clockwise.
Ensure the handle and the blade’s protective plugs have been removed.
    Mounting the saber

  3. The 2 batteries are already inserted into the saber’s hilt. To remove the batteries, unscrew the pommel anti-clockwise. The batteries are inserted through the bottom of the handle, the plus side first. Screw the pommel back into its place once the batteries are installed.
    Mounting the saber

CAUTION: Be sure to align the pommel with the axis of the handle before tightening , as shown on the figure above. If you can feel resistance when tightening, this means the alignment is not good. Do not force tight as you risk damaging the thread of the handle, the pommel or the guard of your SOLAARI lightsaber.

Powering on

The saber is switched on/off by pressing the central button located on the handle.

To turn on the saber, the button must be held down for at least 1 second.

The saber will then automatically power on. As a basis, when it is powered on for the fi rst time, the saber lights blue.

To turn off the saber, the button must be held down for at least 2 seconds THEN released. The saber will be powered off only when the button is released.

Charging the batteries

You must use the charging device provided with your SOLAARI saber to recharge your batteries. They must be inserted respecting the direction of polarity shown on the charger (plus side facing the top part of the charger, with LED lights).

The lights are red during charging and turn to green when charging is complete. It takes approximately 3h30 to fully charge the two batteries using a 5V/2A USB power adapter. It takes approximately 5h to charge with a regular mains adapter.
Charging the batteries

Silent Mode

You can mute the sound directly from the saber, without having to use the SOLAARI application. Once you have turned the saber on, hold the saber’s on/off button for 5 seconds until the sound has been muted.

SOLAARI application

SOLAARI ELITE and PRIME sabers have light and sound customization features through the SOLAARI application. ELITE sabers also have an audio sharing feature, which is presented in the following section. These functions require the prior downloading of the SOLAARI application, available for free on Android and iOS.

Check the www.solaari.com Website for more information.

Connecting to the SOLAARI application

Once the app has been downloaded, follow the instructions to create a profile and pair your saber.

To switch your saber to Pairing Mode, turn off your saber then hold the power button down for 5 seconds until the blade flashes blue. The saber will then be detectable by the application, and pairing will be possible.

Once the saber has been detected and paired, let the instructions supplied by the mobile application guide you.

Check the www.solaari.com Website for more information.

Connecting to a Bluetooth audio device (ELITE range only)

You can play the sound of your SOLAARI ELITE lightsaber via a Bluetooth audio device. Once the saber has been paired with the SOLAARI application, navigate to the Audio Menu by clicking on the audio symbol in the top right corner of your saber’s home page.

In this tab, click on “Connect an audio device”. If your audio device is

Bluetooth enabled, it should appear on the list of available devices.

Beware, do not connect beforehand your Bluetooth device to your smartphone, your device must be free of any pairing in order to be able to connect to your saber.

Once connected, your Bluetooth audio device will appear on the list of paired devices.

You are required to use a Bluetooth TM AptX low latency audio device for optimal audio performance without latency.

WARNINGS / PRECAUTIONS

Definition of the normal use as intended by SOLAARI

SOLAARI lightsabers are not suited to children under the age of 14.
SOLAARI lightsabers are collectors’ items, but they are also sports accessories designed for sabering as a sport. This practice requires specific equipment to protect the body – legs, arms, hands and head – against the strikes delivered.

Saber must be held by the handle, with one or two hands, and strikes must be delivered with the blade. To practice sabering as a sport, the blade must be made of “Mid-Grade” polycarbonate with a maximum thickness of 2mm. For more information on the offi cial practice of lightsabering, please refer to https://www.solaari.com/fr/la-pratique/ or the French Fencing Federation Website.

Sabering as a sport is governed by strict rules and must be carried out within a club or during competitions. Outside this context SOLAARI lightsabers must not be used against someone or something. Do not use to hit animals.

SOLAARI lightsabers must not be immersed in water or in any other liquid, nor be exposed to extreme temperatures, warm or cold. Do not use in a moist environment.

Battery warnings

Do not short-circuit or pierce the batteries. Do not use new batteries with batteries which have already been used. Always remove the saber’s batteries in the event of an extended period without use. Avoid completely discharging the batteries. Do not leave the batteries charging for more 24h running. The batteries must not be immersed in liquid, whether they are placed in the saber or not. Do not throw away the batteries, do not put it in the fi re. Recycle used batteries in accordance with local regulations.

If you want to purchase new batteries, please use rechargeable Lithium-Ion 18650 batteries with a voltage rating between 3.6V and 3.7V (recommended minimum capacity of 3Ah and a minimum 3A rated current), equipped with a button on the positive (“+”) current output as shown on the image below, and equipped with a PCM (Protection Circuit Module).

The batterie are guaranteed for 1 year.

WARNING, THERE IS A RISK OF EXPLOSION IF A NON-COMPATIBLE BATTERY IS  USED. THROW AWAY USED BATTERIES FOLLOWING LOCAL REGULATIONS.
Battery warnings

LED related warnings

It is mandatory to turn the saber off then remove the batteries before removing the blade in order to avoid unintentionally powering up the LED. Do not point the LED light beam towards anyone’s eyes or your own face. Do not touch the LED so as to avoid burns. The prolonged use of the product can generate heat at the LED, which can be felt through the handle: this is normal and expected.

SOLAARI cannot be held responsible in the event of problems caused by failure to comply with one of the previous warnings.

Exclusions of warranty

The warranty will not be applied in the following cases:

  • Physical damage found on the handle of the saber, causing internal malfunctions of the saber.
  • Disassembly of the internal subframe not carried out by an authorised professional approved by SOLAARI.
  • Torn safety seals.
  • Any breach of the definition of “normal use”, as intended by SOLAARI and as explained in the corresponding section.

The blades are consumables designed to absorb impacts with other similar blades during sports combats. The blade’s polycarbonate will naturally suffer from normal and visual alterations. Any damage observed on the blade that does not result from a manufacturing defect is not covered by the warranty. It is recommended to change the blade if it is twisted.

Failing to use SOLAARI lightsabers in compliance with the normal use for which they have been designed automatic leads to an exclusion of warranty.
