COOKING AT A LOW TEMPERATURE:
Low temperatures enable you to better preserve a food’s essential flavour, its
nutritional properties, and achieve stunning textures. When cooking at a low
temperature, try to make the cooking temperature as close as possible to the
temperature reached in a food’s interior that you consider to be the ideal
cooking point. By referring to low temperatures, we simply mean cooking at
mild temperatures. This includes temperatures between 50 and 100 ºC. With this
hob, you can cook at a low temperature using the “Fast” mode without the
external sensor or “Precise” mode using an external sensor. You will always
know the temperature at which you should cook the food thanks to the cooking
tables and the recipes included with this hob.
COOKING BY TEMPERATURE IN “FAST” MODE:
With Fast mode you will obtain a stable temperature while cooking but the
accuracy may vary depending on the pan or dish.
Once you have selected a cooking zone, press the icon (10) on the upper left-
hand part of the screen to cook by temperature. Then select “Fast” mode and
adjust the temperature. The cooking range is between 40 ºC to 100 ºC, with 10
ºC intervals. Some temperatures are specifically indicated for certain cooking
functions. These functions are indicated on the upper right-hand part of the
screen:
40 ºC: Melting
70 ºC: Keep warm
80 ºC: Slow Cook
90 ºC: Simmering
100 ºC: Boiling
To begin cooking, press the centre circle (14), on the main menu icon (13) or wait 5 seconds for it to start automatically. Once cooking has begun, a red circle is displayed below the selected temperature that indicates the increase in temperature. When the pan or dish reaches the desired temperature, an alarm will sound and the “Ready to cook” message will be displayed. Put the food into the pan or dish and press “play” to start cooking.
COOKING BY TEMPERATURE IN PRECISE MODE:
First, connect the external sensor. Then, place the sensor inside the pan or
dish, submerging the black part as much as possible without exceeding the
“MAX” line. To cook in “Precise” mode, choose a cooking zone, press the
“temperature” button (10), then press the “Precise” button (15). The cooking
range is between 40 ºC to 180 ºC, with 1 ºC intervals.
To begin cooking, press the centre circle, on the main menu icon (13) or wait
5 seconds for it to start automatically. Once cooking has begun, a red circle
is displayed below the selected temperature that indicates the increase in
temperature. When the pan or dish reaches the desired temperature, an alarm
will sound and the “Ready to cook” message will be displayed. Put the food
into the pan or dish and press “play” to start cooking.
Only one external sensor at a time can be connected to the hob. Using the
external sensor in sauces is not recommended as it may cause temperature
measurement errors.
“EL CELLER DE CAN ROCA” COOKING TABLES:
The cooking tables developed by “El Celler de Can Roca” give quick access to
programmed cooking. They are defined according to the most appropriate time
and temperature. Take the following aspects into account:
- The indicated temperatures are reference values when cooking with liquids.
- The starting temperature of the food to be cooked is 5 °C (refrigerator temperature).
Although the tables can be used without the external temperature sensor (“Fast” mode), we recommend using them to ensure optimal cooking control (“Precise” mode). To access the tables, select a cooking zone and press the recipe icon (11) found on the middle left-hand part of the screen. Then, select the “Cooking tables” menu and choose the food section. Finally, press the “Play” icon for the desired food and cooking will start automatically.

Various low temperature recipes developed by “El Celler de Can Roca” are
included with this hob. To access all available recipes, first select a
cooking zone and press the recipe icon (11) found on the middle left-hand part
of the screen. Then, select the “Recipes” menu and choose the recipe you want.
Finally, press the “Play” button and cooking will start automatically.
CREATING NEW RECIPES:
To create a new recipe, select a cooking zone and press the recipe icon (11)
found on the middle left-hand part of the screen. Then, select the “My
recipes” menu and press the “+” symbol that appears on the left. Fill out the
recipe information (the name, temperature, and time at least) and press the
“save” button. New recipes will then be added into the “My recipes” menu. To
cook with these recipes, first press the desired recipe, then the “Cook”
button to begin cooking.

Cooking can be programmed to end automatically at a given time. Once the
Power/Temperature level has been adjusted, select the “timer” option by
pressing the icon (12) on the lower lefthand part of the screen. To begin
cooking, press the centre circle on the main menu icon (13) or wait 5 seconds
for it to start automatically. When the selected time has ended, the cooking
will end and an alarm will sound. If you are cooking with the external sensor,
it will remain connected with the hob but will no longer be associated with
the cooking zone. In the selected cooking zone, the option “+ 10min” will be
displayed. This option enables you to keep cooking for 10 additional minutes.
ALARM:
To set the acoustic alarm, press the alarm icon (6) on the side bar. Set the
desired time. To start the timer, press the arrow on the left-hand part of the
screen in the centre of the centre circle or wait 5 seconds. The remaining
time is shown on the main screen. Once the timer has ended, an alarm sounds
and the “+ 10min” option to delay the duration and the “Close” option to
cancel the alarm are shown.
LOCK:
You can lock the screen by pressing the lock icon on the side menu (4) for
safety or cleaning. Cooking in progress will not turn off during locking. The
screen will remain Locked until you unlock it. Unlocking the screen can be
done in several ways depending on the option selected on the settings menu
(Press 2 seconds, pattern, or code). The screen will remain locked even in
“Hibernation” mode and in “Total Turn Off” mode.
PAUSE:
The pause function (5) temporarily stops the cooking processes in progress. To
reactivate it, press the “play” symbol (16) that appears towards the centre of
the screen. Timers will stop during the pause and resume after it. The
countdown for the audible alarm does not stop during the pause and it may go
off before the screen is reactivated.
CONNECTIVITY OF THE EXTRACTION HOOD:
This hob can be connected to an extraction hood as long as it is compatible
and is indicated in the instruction manual. In order to establish the
connection, the connectivity of the hob must be activated in the hob’s
settings menu. Once the hob is emitting a signal, activate the hood’s
connectivity in the hood’s settings menu. A message will appear that must be
validated after ensuring that the hood has been connected successfully. Next,
the hood control icon (3) will appear on the bottom right-hand part of the
hob’s screen.
Once the connection has been established, the hood can be controlled through
the hob in Manual mode or in AUTO mode.
Manual Mode:
This enables you to adjust the power levels of the fan and the light. It also
enables you to pause the fan’s operation or start a “timer” process.
AUTO mode:
The hob automatically controls the hood and calculates the power levels of the
extractor fan based on the power levels of the different cooking zones. The
light will continue working even in manual mode. If you adjust the hood values
manually from the hob, the mode automatically changes to Manual.
To alternate between Manual and AUTO mode, press the (17) button on the bottom
left-hand part of the control screen for the hood on the hob. If the values
are adjusted manually on the hood or you turn it off while it is connected to
the hob, the selected setting will stay the same for 5 minutes before
reverting back to those set by the hob. If the hood had been turned off, it
will turn on again after 5 minutes.
EXTERNAL SENSOR:
The external temperature sensor is a temperature measuring device that
connects to the hob via Bluetooth and sends the temperature of the cooking
liquid to the hob so that it can regulate the power in order to keep it
stable.
First, ensure that the external sensor’s battery is charged and close to the
induction hob. The sensor has a Mini-USB input with which you can connect the
cable to charge the battery. To connect the external sensor, press the
“Settings” icon (7) on the side menu. In the “Connectivity” section, the
“Bluetooth Devices” option must be activated and the “Temperature Sensor”
option selected. Press the external sensor power button and the sensor’s LED
will flash green until the hob and sensor are connected. Then, the LED will
remain stable (green, amber, or red depending on the battery level). When the
sensor is connected to the hob, the “external sensor” icon (18) will appear on
the lower left-hand corner of the screen, along with the sensor’s battery
level indicator. When in use, the sensor’s LED will be off as long as the
battery power is 15% or higher. Press the sensor’s ON/OFF button to see the
battery level based on the LED colour:
Red: 0% – 20%
Amber: 20% – 50%
Green: 50% – 100%
To disconnect the sensor from the hob, press the ON/OFF button on the external
sensor for at least 3 seconds.
External sensor accessories

BOOSTER FUNCTION:
This function makes it possible for the cooking zones to receive power above
the nominal power (the number of zones using the booster simultaneously
depends on the power supplied to the different zones, which must be lower than
the worktop’s maximum power). To activate the Booster function, select a
cooking zone then press power level “B” or the “Booster” icon. If available
power is not sufficient, the power boost will not be allowed. The Booster’s
activation time is limited to 5 minutes. After the automatic deactivation of
the Booster, the zone will continue to operate at power level “9”. If the
cookware is removed, the deactivation time will continue being counted.
RESIDUAL HEAT: After using a cooking zone, the corresponding circle is shown in red to indicate that there is residual heat. This warning disappears when the cooking zone becomes cool again.
AUTOMATIC SAFETY SWITCH-OFF
Each cooking zone will be switched off after a preset maximum time, depending
on the power / temperature level. Each operation in the cooking zone resets
the countdown of this maximum time.
PAN DETECTION:
If, with the cooking zone in use, the system detects that there is not a pan
or dish or that the one present is unsuitable, this is indicated by a symbol
in the corresponding zone (19). The programmed cooking zone switches off
automatically after 1 minute if no suitable pan or dish has been recognized.
SETTINGS MENU :
To access the settings menu press the “Settings” icon (7) on the side bar. Any
changes to the settings are made by returning to the main settings menu.
Display: To select the screen’s brightness, use the control bar.

“Activation Time”. If it is not activated, the screen turns off after the
“Total Turn Off time”. You can adjust both the times and the format of the
Hibernation screen.
Power Limit:
You can limit the power consumed by the hob based on the installation’s needs.
Hood Options:
It enables establishing the connection with the extraction hood as long as it
is compatible with the hob. You can also disconnect the hood from the hob.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
We recommend cleaning the hob regularly, ideally after each use. Avoid sponges
that could leave scratches and abrasive agents. Also avoid aggressive cleaning
products such as oven sprays or stain removers, as well as universal or bath
cleaning products. When the hob is sufficiently cool, pour a few drops of a
suitable cleaning product on the hob and wipe it with paper towel or a clean
cloth. Then, wipe the hob with a damp cloth and dry it with a clean cloth.
Note: Use flat-bottomed cookware and always lift cookware when moving it
on the hob to avoid scratches. (21)
In the event of a fault, contact an official distributor or authorised dealer.
External sensor maintenance:
Clean the sensor measurement area using a suitable sponge and regular liquids
for cleaning dishes and removing grease, limescale and other residues. Clean
the metal end sensor with care. Carefully clean the part of the sensor body
where electronics and connections are housed with a damp cloth and keep
liquids from entering inside.
