Memory Card Installation
Step 1. Insert a Memory Card
You will need to insert a memory card before beginning recording. Push the
memory card into the slot until it locks in place.
The M3 dashcam accepts memory cards with a maximum capacity of 256GB.
Depending on the memory card’s manufacturer and type, some cards may not be
compatible with the dashcam. Using an incompatible card may damage the device,
the memory card, or corrupt the data stored on it. For reliable operation, use
a Class 10 memory card with a capacity of at least 32GB. Note
DO NOT insert or remove a memory card while the device is in operation.
It is recommended that you reformat the memory card every time images are
transferred to the computer, or at least once a month.
Reformatting a memory card keeps important elements of data and also a cleaned
file structure which helps to prevent error messages and missing images.
Reformatting also restores the memory card, which can help prevent it from
becoming corrupted.
Step 2. Formatting the Memory Card
- Tap the icon to stop recording
- Tap the icon to access the settings
- Toggle down to Format
- Tap OK to format the card
Please format the card on the dashcam before using it. Before formatting a
memory card, always remember to make backup copies of all important data
stored on the device. The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover the loss of
data resulting from user actions. Note
Removing the memory card
Before removing a memory card from your dashcam, you must first unmount it for
safe removal.
- Tap the icon to stop recording
- Press and hold the power button to turn off the device
- Gently push the memory card in and let go until it releases
Do not remove the memory card while the device is transferring or accessing information. Doing so can result in data loss, corruption, or damage to the memory card or device. Racing is not responsible for losses that result from the use of damaged memory cards, including the loss of data.
Installation
Dash Cam Installation
- Strap the dashcam to the rearview mirror of your vehicle with the rubber mounting strap. Adjust the angle of the camera to ensure that it captures your desired view.
- Mount the rear camera as shown below and then connect the rear camera to the main unit. Carefully route the power cable around the door and tuck it under the trim.
- The device will automatically be powered on when plugged into a 12V accessory socket or cigarette lighter and received a charge (i.e.: the vehicle is started). To turn the device on manually, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds until the welcome screen appears. The dashcam will automatically start recording when powered on.
- The red wire of the rear camera cable provides 12 Volt power to your rear camera. It is not necessary to connect the red wire to the power supply. But if you want to use the parking assist function, it’s recommended to connect to the power source of your reverse lights, so the screen will display the image of the rear camera automatically when the vehicle is in reverse. If you need more installation information, please reach out to care@rexingusa.com for assistance.
- When connecting the charger to the vehicle’s 12V DC outlet, be sure to use only a Rexing-approved charger. The charger should be at least a 2.5A charger that is designed and supplied specifically for use with your device. Using an incompatible charger can cause serious personal injury or damage to your device.
Install a GPS Logger
Plug the power cable into the cigarette lighter socket and secure the
module on the power cable to a position close to the A-pillar of the car. The
antenna receiver side (the side without 3M adhesive) faces the outside and the
side with 3M adhesive faces down. It should be properly secured.
GPS Satellite Connection Exception
Even when the GPS is successfully connected with the satellite network, your
location and environmental factors may directly affect its accuracy. The
following factors have a direct impact on satellite signal reception and may
cause a failure of the speed detection and camera reporting features.
Video Playback
To playback, a video on the device, press the **icon on the home screen and
select the desired file to play. To playback, a video on the computer, either use
an SD card adapter or connect the device to the computer directly using the
included USB cable. To playback, a video using an SD card adapter, remove the
memory card and insert it into an SD card adapter. Place the adapter in the
computer. The videos are stored at \Video. Select the video to playback.
Download a GPS Video player**
The dashcam will record the speed and location of your vehicle as you drive.
GPS information will only be displayed in the video played with the video
player we provide. Please download the GPS logger player through the link
gpsb.rexingusa.com OR Scan the QR Code below.
Basic Operations
Resolution
The dashcam can record videos on two or three channels. The video resolution
taken by each camera is FHD 1920x1080P.
Loop Recording
With Loop Recording Mode enabled, the device will continuously erase the older
video as it records a new video, keeping only the footage captured over a
user-selected time range. All videos older than this range will be replaced
with a new video. (Note: any locked video files on the memory card will remain
protected, and will not be automatically deleted during Loop Recording.)
- Tap the icon to stop recording
- Tap the icon to access the settings
- Toggle to Loop Recording and select your preferred time interval (we recommend 1 minute).
- Tap the icon to exit
G-sensor
If a change in gravitational forces is detected, such as in the event of a
vehicular accident, the g-sensor will signal to the camera, and an automatic
locked file will be placed on the current video, preserving your most crucial
footage. Locked videos can be found on the memory card under “\event”.
Note
Locked video files won’t be erased by Loop Recording, they will remain on the
memory card until they are manually deleted, or when the card is formatted.
- Tap the icon to stop recording
- Tap the icon to access the settings
- Toggle to G-sensor and choose your desired sensitivity
- Tap the icon to exit
Time-lapse Recording
Record video in one frame per second to conserve memory and reduce the time it
takes to review the video. With Time Lapse, the dash cam can sustain a longer
operational period while reducing video file size, allowing a longer coverage
in Parking Monitor Mode.
- Tap the icon to stop recording
- Tap the icon to access the settings
- Toggle to Time-Lapse Recording and select a time length
- Tap the icon to exit
Parking Mode (Parking Monitor)
Parking mode provides surveillance on your parked vehicle. When the engine is
off, hardwire kit is used to provide continuous power and protect your car
battery from discharge.
Note
To use the Parking Mode feature, you need to connect it with an Intelligent
Hardwire Kit (ASIN B0973MBCT8, sold separately).
- Tap the icon to stop recording
- Tap the icon to access the settings
- Toggle to Parking Mode and make a selection (It is recommended to choose the Time-lapse option)
Tap the icon to exit
There are 2 options under parking mode:
We recommend using the Time-lapse Recording option. Time-lapse Recording:
Record video in one frame per second to conserve memory and reduce the time it
takes to review the video.
G-Sensor Trigger Recording:
The G-sensor detects significant or sudden movement (such as an impact or
collision), and it will trigger an event recording. We suggest setting the
“Gravity Sensing” to High sensitivity for parking mode Recording. The dashcam
will remain off until a movement is detected.
Note
If you do not use the parking mode function, please change G-sensor setting to
low sensitivity. Otherwise, the dashcam will easily lock the video and it
cannot be deleted by the loop recording function. This will cause the memory
card to be full of locked videos and cause the recorder to fail to work
normally.
Backup Camera Lines
Use this option to adjust the parking assist lines, you need to connect the
red wire of the rear camera to the power supply of the reverse lights.
- Tap the ****icon to stop recording
- Tap the icon to access the settings
