ATTENTION!
Make sure that the device is operated on a surface which is resist-ant to water, and that it cannot tip over. In particular, when operated with miner- alised water, condensation / residues may be produced. Make sure that the mist being issued is not directed to-wards electronic appliances, furniture or walls.

Safety instructions

Read the instruction manual carefully before using this device, especially the safety instructions, and keep the in-struction manual for future use. Should you give this device to another person, it is vital that you also pass on these instructions for use.

Intended use
The product is used exclusively for giving aroma to the air in dry, closed indoor rooms. The product is not intended for commercial use but rather only domestic use. Intended use also includes compliance with all information and specifications contained in these operating instructions. Any use other than for its intended purpose shall be deemed as misuse.

Misuse
Misuse of the product can lead to hazardous situations.

  •  Fill the product only with water or aromatic water and use no other liquids.
  •  Do not use the product in wet rooms, such as bathrooms or saunas.
  •  Do not use the product in rooms with open fire (fireplace, gas cooker, candles etc.).
  •  Do not insert any objects into the openings of the product.
  •  Do not place the product directly in front of an air conditioning unit or other.
  • The device must be used only with the adaptor (LQ-Y240050U) supplied with the appliance.
  •  This device can be used by children of 8 years of age and above and by per-sons with restricted physical, sensory or mental capacity or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe use of the device and understand the resultant hazards.
  •  Make sure that the product is set up out of the reach of children.
  •  Make sure that children are not allowed to play with the product at any time.
  •  Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision.
  •  Do not leave packaging material lying around unattended. There is a risk of asphyxiation.

Improper handling
Improper handling of the product can cause injuries.

  •  Make sure that the product is used properly. Never cover it.
  •  Be aware that unauthorised conversion and / or modification of the product is prohibited. In case of unauthorised conversion and / or modification the war-ranty cover will be rendered null and void.
  •  Never open the water tank during operation.
  •  Before filling or emptying the product, always pull the mains plug from the socket.
  •  Before installation, cleaning or a period in which the product is not used, pull the mains from the socket.
  •  Empty the water tank before a period in which the product is not used.
  • Contact the manufacturer or a specialist if you have any doubts regarding the way the product works, its safety or how to connect the product.
  • f the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

Setting up

If liquids, damp air or fire come into contact with the product, there is a risk of injuries.

  •  Do not set up the product in rooms with high air humidity, such as bathrooms or saunas.
  •  Make sure that no liquids enter into the inside of the housing. This will not only destroy the product but there is also a risk of fire.
  •  Protect the product from the effects of the elements. Do not set it up outdoors.
  •  Only ever place the product on flat surfaces. If placed on an inclined surface, water from the water tank may enter into the housing.
  •  Make sure that the air inlet openings on the base of the product are not co-vered or sealed.

    The aroma diffuser is controlled using one operating button 2 on the bottom side of the device. This button can be used to switch the aroma diffuser on and off. You can only switch on when the water tank is correctly filled (max. filling quantity 100 ml 1). In addition, the button can be used to define the colour of the LED lighting. The following settings are available: Device on → automatic colour change → single colour→ LED off→ device off
    Filling the water tank with water and aroma essence Fill the water tank with max. 100 ml fresh drinking water and add some drops of the aroma essence (depending on the desired intensity) to the water.
    ATTENTION!
    Make sure that the device is operated on a surface which is resistant to water, and that it cannot tip over. In particular, when operated with mineralised water, condensation / residues may be produced. Make sure that the mist being issued is not directed towards electronic appliances, furniture or walls.

Cleaning and maintenance

  •  Before cleaning, pull the mains plug.
  •  Empty the device after each use and dry the water tank with a cloth.
  •  Wash the water tank with clear water when you wish to change the aroma. This prevents mixing different aromas.
  •  Only clean the outside of the device with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Then rub it dry with a soft, dry cloth.
  •  Do not under any circumstances us brushes, sharp cleaning implements, ben-zene, thinners or alcohol.

Descaling
Descale the device after five or six uses or every 14 days. To do so, proceed as follows:

  1.  Disconnect the device from the power supply.
  2.  Fill the water tank with a maximum of 10 ml and add three tablespoonfuls of citric acid.
  3.  Allow the liquid to take effect for at least fifteen minutes.
  4.  Empty out the liquid.
  5.  Rinse the water tank with fresh water.
  6.  Wipe out the water tank with a dry cloth.However, if you have any questions, please contact our service department.

Disposal
This product must not be disposed of together with domestic waste. All users are obliged to hand in all electrical or electronic devices, regardless of whether or not they contain toxic substances, at a municipal or commercial collection point so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner. Consult your municipal authority or your dealer for information about disposal.

Warranty and repair terms

Please contact your dealer or the service centre in case of a claim under the warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is.
The following warranty terms apply:

  1.  The warranty period for medisana products is three years from date of purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of pur chase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.
  2.  Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of charge within the warranty period.
  3.  Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for the unit or for the replace-ment parts.
  4.  The following is excluded under the warranty:
    •  All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non-observance of the user instruc-tions.
    •  All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties.
    •  Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre.
    •  Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear.
