- Because of Suctions cups are made of plastic, especially in winter, it is easy to send hard, If the suction cup claw force is not enough to belong to the normal phenomenon, it is recommended to use 60° hot water to make it soften, which is helpful to the suction cup.
- Both the window and suctions cups must be EXTREMELY clean. The tiniest amount of dirt or the slightest bit of oil from our skin can affect whether it’ll stay stuck on the window.
- Position suction cups exactly where you want before sticking them to the window, especially the top two. If you keep moving around, oils in skin can transfer to the window or suction cup, which can affect how long the seat will stick in the window.
- The temperature of the window and the humidity outside when you apply suction cups can definitely affect whether or not it’ll stay on. If it’s summer and you live somewhere humid, wait until night when it’s typically not as hot/humid and make absolutely sure you keep the window dry while you’re applying suction cups. Also, if window is extremely cold when you hang it, that can also affect whether or not it will stay stuck long term
- The position of the top two suction cups/distance to the seat is EXTREMELY important because it determines the amount of slack in the strings. This is a key element in being able to support the weight of a cat without falling down (and also how long seat will stay stuck). Therefore, if there is too much slack in the strings, it will fall when heavy cats jump on. If strings are super tight and there is absolutely zero slack left in them, one or both of top suction cups will pop off when heavy cat jumps on. Ideally, the strings should have a tiny bit of slack, just enough that the strings still appear completely straight in angle from suction cups down to the seat.
