The VT4900 – USB-C KVM Docking Station merges cutting-edge technology and
high-quality hardware with innovative design.
With the KVM Sharing features, the VT4900 allows a user to switch their
display (HDMI / DP / DP) monitors / USB – Peripherals by using the multi-
switch mode, with Dual Host (Desktop / Laptop / Tablet) at the same time.
With the KM Sharing feature, the VT4900 allows the user to move their
mouse/touchpad cursor between multiple systems.

- An available USB-C Port
Note: Not all USB-C Ports will support the full functionality of the USB-C standard required by this docking station. Ensure that the Host Computer’s USB-C Port supports DP Alt Mode, as well as USB Power Delivery. In order to output to 4K 60Hz over HDMI, the Host Computer must support DP 1.4.

Note: A 4K-capable display is required to achieve a 4K resolution.
(Alt Mode resolutions may vary depending on the compatibilities between Host
and Monitor)

1.4 Hardware Installation
- Download the latest drivers for Windows, macOS, and Android OS from the following link: http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/
- Connect the Power Adapter (PSU) to the DC power jack on the VT4900 Docking Station.
- Connect the included 2 x USB-C to C cables to USB-C (Upstream) Ports (Host A / B) on the Docking Station and then to an available USB-C Port on each Host computer.
- Connect your DisplayPort / HDMI displays to the corresponding ports on the VT4900 Docking Station.
- Connect any other devices to the Docking Station, including an RJ-45 (Gigabit) for network connection, USB peripherals, speakers and microphones.
- Power On the Docking Station.

2.3 DisplayLink USB Graphics software
2.3.1 Introduction
Welcome to the DisplayLink USB Graphics software. This software along with the
VT4900 allows you to easily connect extra monitors to your laptop or desktop
PC USB port.
The connected monitors can be configured to either mirror your main screen, or
extend the Windows desktop allowing the visibility of more applications at the
same time. The DisplayLink USB Graphics devices can also be configured to be
the primary display.
DisplayLink’s Graphics Host Software allows full configuration of all
additional USB displays, including:
- Support for Windows 8.1– Windows 10 Update 2020
- Support for up to 6 additional USB Displays
- Resolutions up to 4K / 60Hz (Product dependent)
- Rotation
- Layout of displays
DisplayLink software also provides drivers for Audio and Ethernet built into the VT4900 USB-C KVM Docking Station.
2.3.2 PC Requirements
The DisplayLink software can be utilized with any Ultrabook, Windows Tablet,
Notebook/Laptop, or Desktop system.
The performance of the software is dependent upon the processing power
available, as well as the operating system in use. More capable systems will
provide overall better performance.

2.3.3 Installation Setup – Windows 10/8.1/8/7 Setup
Step 1. Connect the Docking Station to your Laptop
Noted: Note: It is recommended to download the latest drivers from the
DisplayLink support website at:
www.displaylink.com/support
Step 2. Execute the Setup File which is downloaded from the DisplayLink website:
Step 3. Follow the screen instructions until the installation is complete.
Step 4. Connect your Docking Station and peripherals to your PC (Host)
2.3.4 Installation Setup – macOS 10.12, 10.11, and 10.10
DisplayLink software can be downloaded and installed from the DisplayLink
website following the steps below. Select the ‘DisplayLink Software Installer’
to begin the installation of the DisplayLink driver on your Mac.
This will run a standard Mac installer and will require a reboot once it has
been completed.
3 Host Bridge (Docking Center) Utility (Windows)
3.1 Setup and Installation
Please follow the steps for the installation.
a. Connect HOST 1 Upstream port (On Docking Station) to the USB-C port of Host
1, and connect the HOST 2 Upstream port (On Docking Station) to the USB-C port
of Host 2
b. Double click DockingCenterAppInstall.exe to start the installation, as
shown below.
c. If the previous version of the App is installed on your
PC, App will ask users to uninstall it. Please uninstall the previous version
and get back to this step to reinstall this version.
d. After the installation is completed, double click the
icon to start the application.
e. If “User Account Control” (UAC) is shown, please click “Yes”
f. Please run the above steps on a second PC. If the second PC is a Mac,
please refer to the Mac user guide.
g. If the hub cannot connect to two PCs or the software is not executed, this
icon indicates NOT connected.
h. If two PCs are running different versions of software, this icon indicates
NOT able to run.
i. This icon indicates the connection is completed.
j. This icon indicates KM Master mode (Host can control client’s keyboard and
mouse)
3.2 Functions
3.2.1 Mouse and Keyboard
After the connection is successfully configured, the mouse connected to the
hub can be moved between the two PCs. Your Keyboard connected to the HUB can
also be used to input the PC that the mouse focuses on.
Users could right-click this icon to set up the relative position of PCs.
3.2.2 Ctrl + Alt + Del
Ctrl + Alt + Del is Windows reserved combination keys,
and the combination keys will only work on the PC that the keyboard is
connected to.
3.2.3 Switch UFP
When the Hub connects to two PCs, devices under the hub
will be recognized and enumerated by the Master host, for example, the storage
devices will only be shown on the Master PC, while the other PC is set as the
slave PC. Switch UFP function will allow users to switch the role of Master
and Slave PCs.
3.2.4 Advanced Settings
You could set a hot-key to switch UFP, and this key will allow you to switch the roles of PCs quickly. You can switch the function of KM Master as well.
3.2.5 KM Master
KM Master is a setting where you can share the keyboard/mouse from the host
side to the client side, even if the software is not installed on the client-
side.
In this case, you can use “Left ALT” + “Left SHIFT” to return to the host
side.
3.2.6 About
Software Information
Host Bridge (Docking Center) Utility (MAC OS)
4.1 Limitations
- Not supported by VM simulation systems.
- KM Share Hub only works on USB3.0/USB3.1 host ports.
- If one PC/MAC has an abnormal KM Share operation caused by entering sleep, suspend or restart, please unplug both upstream ports, restart the software on both PC and MAC, and re-plug both upstream ports to get back to normal operation.
4.2 Setup and Installation
Please follow the steps below for the installation.
a. Connect HOST 1 Upstream port (On Docking) to the USB-C port of Host 1, and
connect the HOST 2 Upstream port (On Docking) to the USB-C port of Host 2
b. Click DockingCenterMac.pkg to start the installation, as shown below.
c. Click “Continue”
d. Click “Continue”
e. Click “Install”
f. Input “User Name” and “Password”, and press enter or click “Install
Software”.
g. Click “Open System Preferences”
h. Click “Lock”
i. Input “User Name” and “Password”, and press enter or click “Unlock”
j.Click “DockingCenter” and close the window.
4.3 Ready to Use
Click “GO” “Applications”.
Start “DockingCenter”.
4.4 Functions
When KM Share is started, there are four statuses.
Indicates NON-Connected
Indicates Connected
Indicates ERROR (it may be caused by mismatched hardware of software)
Indicates KM Master mode (Host can control client’s keyboard and mouse)
a. Mouse and Keyboard
After the connection has been successfully built up, the mouse on both
computers or on the Hub can be moved over between the two computers, and the
Keyboard can be used to input on the computer that the mouse focuses on.
b. Switch UFP
When the Hub connects to two host platforms, devices connected to the hub will
be recognized and enumerated by the master host, for example, the storage
devices will only be shown on the Master side, with the other side being set
to slave or client host. Switch the UFP function to allow you to switch the
roles of master and client host
c. Advanced Settings
– UFP Switch Hotkey Setting
You can set a hot-key to switch UFP, and this will allow you to switch the
role of the hosts.
KM Master
KM Master Mode can only be enabled by the master host platform. When the “KM
Master” mode is enabled, the application icon becomes yellow. At this time,
you can use the host’s keyboard and mouse to control the client’s side without
requiring the KM Share application. You can also press the hotkey (left ALT +
left SHIFT) to move the cursor back to the master host side from the client-
side.

BIOS Items to make sure the laptop supports the wake-up-from-Ethernet port
