WARNINGS and PRECAUTIONS

CAUTION

  • To prevent electric shock hazards, do not connect to the mains power supply while the grille is removed.
  • To Prevent Electric Shock, Match The Wide Blade Of The Plug To Wide Slot, Fully Insert
  • Use of any controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those herein specified may result in hazardous radiation exposure
  • The danger of explosion if the battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.

WARNING

  • An apparatus with CLASS I construction shall be connected to a MAINS socket outlet with a protective earthing connection.
  • To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture.
  • Do not install this equipment in a confined space such as a bookcase or similar unit.
  • The mains plug is used as a disconnect device and it should remain readily operable during intended use. In order to disconnect the apparatus from the mains completely, the mains plug should be disconnected from the mains socket outlet completely.

ATTENTION

  • Pour Prevenir Les Chocs Electriques, Apar De La Fente Large, Fond
  • Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
  • Do not place the unit on top of any soft, porous, or sensitive surfaces to avoid damaging the surface. Use a protective barrier between the unit and surface to protect the surface
  • Use of this unit near fluorescent lighting may cause interferenceregarding the use of the remote. If the unit is displaying erratic behavior move away from any fluorescent lighting, as it may be the cause.
  • The lightning flash with the arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated “dangerous voltage” within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to
constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read these instructions.

  1. Keep these instructions.
  2. Heed all warnings.
  3. Follow all instructions.
  4. Do not use this apparatus near water.
  5. Clean only with a dry cloth.
  6.  Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
  7. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  8. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for the replacement of the obsolete outlet.
  9. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
  10. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  11. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over
  12. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
  13. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as a power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
  14. The apparatus shall be used in an open area. Cet apprareil doit être utilisé dans un endroit a aire ouverte.
  15. Apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.
  16. The mains plug is used as a disconnect device. It shall remain readily operable and should not be obstructed during intended use. To completely disconnect the apparatus from the supply mains, the main plug of the apparatus shall be disconnected from the main socket outlet completely.

Introduction

The 6301N series are small monitors with built-in amplifiers for various kinds of monitoring.

Features of 6301ND/NX/NE/NB

  • The cone-shaped, full-range speaker produces a stable sound.
  • As the speaker is compact and consists of a single unit, it can be placed anywhere.
  • The speaker uses a tough, aluminum die-cast enclosure.
  • The speaker has the same width and height as the older model, so upgrading is easy.
  • Switches and knobs do not protrude from the panel to prevent damage caused if the speaker falls over.
  • Equipped with a switching power circuit compatible with 100 V to 240 V AC power supplies.
  • By attaching wall mounting bracket EB-6301 (sold separately) to the unit, you can both adjust the angle of the unit and fix it to the walls.
  • The unit has an auto-standby function that saves power automatically (power consumption of 0.5 W or less) when input continuously falls below a certain level.

Back

[DIGITAL IN] terminal

AES/EBU-compliant digital input terminal.

[DIGITAL THRU] terminal

Directly outputs the signal from the [DIGITAL IN] terminal.

Analog input terminal (phone)

  • 6.3 mm (1/4″) TS phone unbalanced analog
  • input terminal.
  • Inputs connected to the analog input terminal
  • are prioritized over inputs to other terminals.
  • 6301ND: [ANALOG IN]

[INPUT SEL] switch

Used to select the type of analog signal that the digital signal is transformed into. Choose between left and right (R+L), left only (L), and right only (R).

[AC IN] terminal

Used to connect to a power outlet using the supplied power cord.

[INPUT BALANCED] terminal

XLR balanced analog input terminal. 6301NX uses a transformer type balanced system, and 6301NE uses an electronic type balanced system.

The [POWER] indicator

  • 6301ND
  • Unlit: The power is off
  • Lit in green: A device is connected to the [DIGITAL IN] terminal and the digital signal is locked
  • Lit in orange: A plug is inserted in the analog input terminal (phone)
  • Lit in red: In standby
  • When a plug is inserted in the analog input terminal (phone), the indicator lights in orange whether anything is connected to the [DIGITAL IN] terminal or not.
  • 6301NX/NE/NB
  • Unlit: The power is off
  • Lit in green: The power is on
  • Lit in red: In standby

The auto standby function

When the input to the unit continues below a certain level for approximately 25 minutes, the auto standby function is activated, and power consumption is reduced to 0.5 W or below. If input then exceeds a certain level, the unit reverts to its normal state. The auto standby function may not function normally depending on the noise level of devices connected to the input terminals on the unit.

  • When a device is only connected to the [DIGITAL IN] terminal, the unit goes into standby unless the digital signal is locked.
  • Even if the digital signal is locked, the unit goes into standby when input continues below a certain level for about 25 minutes.
