Safety and Warnings
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be taken, including the following:
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plug, or power base unit in water or other liquids.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Always fill the kettle first, then set the appliance onto the power base, and finally plug cord into outlet. To disconnect, remove kettle from Power Base, then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not use this appliance for other than intended use.
- Always make sure that lid is closed during operation. Scalding may occur when lid is open during operation.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving the kettle containing hot water.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- For household use only.
- Do not boil water while the lid is open. The kettle will not shut off and boiling water may splash out of the kettle. This can cause severe injuries.
- Never try to remove the lid.
- When opening the lid, handle it gently and do not try to push it beyond its normal resistance. If the lid breaks, the kettle will not work properly.
- Never fill kettle with anything but water.
- Do not add instant soups or any other soluble to the kettle.
- Do not use the kettle to thaw food of any kind.
- Do not use the kettle to make sauces or to melt cheese, butter or any other items.
- Never immerse the kettle in any liquid. Never put kettle or base in the dishwasher.

Operation
Read all Important Safeguards and Operating Instructions before using this
kettle.
Discard the first filling of boiling water to remove any dust and residues
from the manufacturing process.
Standby Mode:
- Place kettle on the power base.
- Plug cord into wall outlet and switch
- Indicator lights on handle will flash, indicating that unit is in standby mode. If no operation is commenced within 2 minutes, the kettle will go into sleep mode and the indicator lights will turn off.
Boiling Water:

Remove kettle from base.

Open the lid until it stands vertically. DO NOT BEND LID FURTHER BACK!

Fill with the desired amount of fresh cold water. The kettle has minimum and maximum markings. Never underfill or overfill the kettle.
WARNING: Never fill above the MAX line. Overfilling can cause boiling water to leap out of the pouring spout. This can cause severe injuries and burns. -
Close lid.

Place kettle on Power Base.

Plug cord into wall outlet.

Press the power button on the handle. The blue LED light will turn on and boiling will commence.

Once the water reaches 100°C, the blue LED light will turn off, and the kettle will return to standby mode.
Keep Warm Mode:
- Press the button and cycle through the following temperatures: 40°C, 50°C, 60°C, 80°C and 90°C. The LED screen will flash for 3 seconds and then lock in the temperature.
- When the water temperature drops lower than the selected temperature, the kettle will reheat the water automatically.
Cancel Boiling:

Hold down the power button for 1 second to return to standby mode.
Cancel Keep Warm Mode: -
Press the power button 3 times, or hold down for 1 second to return to standby mode instead of keeping warm.

- Never try to boil water with the lid open.
- Do not leave water standing in the kettle. Discard unused water.
- If the kettle is “ON” without water, the kettle will automatically turn off (the blue indicator light will turn off).
- If you remove the kettle during heating – before Auto Shut-Off – the blue indicator light will turn off.
Cleaning and Care

Standby Mode:
- Always unplug cord of power base before cleaning.
- Make sure kettle is cold.
- Clean the exterior surface with a clean, damp, soft cloth.
- Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring agents.
- Rinse out kettle and wipe dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Attention: Over time the stainless steel cover of the heating element inside the bottom of the kettle may change color slightly. This is caused by the intense heat of the heating element.
If your water has a high iron content brownish stains may appear on the stainless steel element (this is also known as “boiler scale”). These stains can be wiped away with a cloth and a mild abrasive. Rinse kettle thoroughly with fresh water.
Hard water can leave calcium spots inside the kettle. Use a commercial descaling agent and follow the instructions that come with the agent.
Smart Life App Connection
Download App: Search “Smart Life” in the App Store or on the Google Play
Store and download it to your smart device.
Please Note: The App is compatible with Android 4.4 and IOS 10.0 and
higher.
Log In / Register Account Number:
Open the Smart Life App, sign up for a new account of log in with an existing
account.
Device Pairing:

While the Smart Life App is open, ensure that your Bluetooth is turned on and that the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal is stable.

Hold down the button on the kettle for 5 seconds, or until the device beeps once. The indicator light in the top-left corner of the display will blink rapidly, showing that the kettle is in pairing mode.

Within the Smart Life app, tap the ‘+’ icon in the upper right corner to add a new device through the network.

Select the type of device you want to connect to from the list.

Follow the instructions on screen to confirm the pairing mode.

Enter your Wi-Fi details. It is important that your Smart Ape device and the Smart Life app are connected to the same Wi-Fi network during setup.

The device will commence the pairing process and connect to the Smart Life app. Ensure that your smart device is kept close to the Smart Ape 1.7L Smart Kettle until the connection is complete.

After successfully being added, you will have the option to rename the kettle and assign it to a location. It will now be listed on the Smart Life app’s home page. Tap the device to enter its control page.
Smart Life App Operation
In-app Functions
Within the control page, you can turn the kettle on or off to begin boiling, view the current temperature, access device options, adjust ‘Keep Warm’ temperature, and open the schedule menu.
Wake-Up Function and Scheduling
By Tapping ‘Schedule’ on the control page, you will open the ‘Add Schedule’
menu.
Here you can arrange the exact date and time you would the kettle to boil,
either as a one-off task or a recurring activity.
