How to use
This breast pump has two modes, “Stimulation mode” and “Expression mode.” To
start expressing
Stimulation mode
↓
Expression mode
Applies gentle stimulation to your breast when you start expressing. Choose
from two different speeds—Slow mode (MODE 1) or Moderate mode (MODE 2).
You can set the appropriate suction pressure (7 power levels) and speed (4
speeds) for expressing.
-
Center the flange over your papilla and press it against your breast. Seal it securely so that no air can escape. You can create a good seal by using your other hand to support your breast from underneath. If your nipples are large and they touch the cover, we recommend using the large flange.
-
To turn the power on, press .
“Stimulation mode” starts automatically and the timer also starts to track the usage time when you turn the power on. *You will hear a clicking sound when the pump is in operation. This is the normal operating sound of the valve that releases the suction power. -
Stimulation mode
Confirm that your nipple/papilla is moving and suction is being applied. The display switches as shown below each time you press the button so that you can adjust the speed. When breastmilk starts coming out (or after 1-2 minutes), switch to “Expression mode”. The pump automatically switches to “Expression mode” 2 minutes after Stimulation mode starts. If you want to continue using “Stimulation mode,” press to switch back to “Stimulation mode.” -
ID Expression mode
To switch to “Expression mode,” press . In “Expression mode”, you can adjust the suction pressure and speed. The flashing display changes as shown below each time you press .
-
To adjust the suction pressure While “POWER” is flashing, press + or – to adjust the suction power (7 power levels).
-
To adjust the speed While “SPEED” is flashing, press + or – to adjust the speed (4 speeds).
Caution
Drastic changes in the suction pressure and speed may cause nipple pain.
See your condition, and adjust the suction pressure and speed that is suitable
for you.
Expressing for an excessively long time may cause nipple pain. Aim to
express from each nipple for approximately 10 minutes. The amount of
expression varies depending on the nipple conditions of each mother. See your
condition and express accordingly.
5 When you finish expressing, press to turn off the power. When you are
certain that suction has stopped, gently remove the flange from your breast.
Three things to remember when using the breast pump
To use the breast pump effectively, check the following:
- Make sure that your nipple/papilla is in the center of the flange.
- Ensure that there is a tight seal between your breast and the flange to prevent the occurrence of air leaks. Confirm that you can feel a suction sensation on your nipple/papilla. (The nipple/papilla/areola moves smoothly during suction.)
• Breastmilk may not secrete as soon as you start expressing. Use a weak suction pressure to stimulate your nipple/papilla until ejection begins. Breastmilk ejection varies from woman to woman. Relax, and you will be an expert in no time.
How to store expressed breastmilk
Storage period
(The following are merely guidelines and do not provide any assurance of quality.)
| Refrigerator (4°C or below)| Freezer (around —18°C)
---|---|---
Freshly pumped breastmilk| 24 hours| 3 months (recommended) 6 months (usable)
Thawed breastmilk (Thawed in the refrigerator or under running water)| 24
hours’| Do not refreeze.
- If thawed by immersing in warm water, do not place back in the refrigerator.
How to thaw frozen breastmilk
Thaw breastmilk using one of the following methods.
- Immerse in warm water at around 40°C.
- Place in the refrigerator. *For up to 24 hours after taking out of the freezer
- Place under running water.
How to warm to a suitable temperature for breastfeeding
Immerse in warm water at around 40°C.
- Breastmilk may separate during storage. This is normal and does not affect its nutritional content. Swirl gently before feeding.
- When going out, it is recommended that you transport the breastmilk in a frozen state (without thawing it).
Caution
- Do not thaw by immersing in boiling water, or by heating in the microwave or over an open flame. The nutritional content of the breastmilk may be damaged.
- As it may not remain sanitary, do not let breastmilk thaw at room temperature.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
