BTSTART Bluetooth Helmet Headset
User Manual
Thank you for purchasing the Interphone BTSTART. This headset is very easy to
install on your helmet. With DSP technology, it ensure the crystal clear voice
when you are riding motorcycles.
Please read this guide carefully to assure safe and satisfactory operation.
CAUTION
- Do not immerse in water to avoid damaging the product as well as shortening its lifetime.
- DO NOT drop or apply shock to the product. Such act may cause irreparable damage to the product.
- DO NOT expose the product to open flame or under the direct sunlight for a prolonged period of the time. Such environment may cause malfunction or fire.
- Please note: in no event our product shall be liable for any special, indirect, punitive, incidental, exemplary or consequential damages, or any damages whatsoever resulting from the usage of this product.
- If anything unusual such as smoke, heat or bad smell is detected, please disconnect immediately the power and stop the usage.
- Continuing the use may cause electric shock or fire.
Note on battery charge
- For battery charge, use USB terminal or USB adaptor at normal temperature.
- Use regulation USB terminal only. Otherwise it may cause smoke generation or fire.
- When charging the battery, if any strange odor or high heat should broke out, please immediately pull the plug from the body. It may cause smoke generation or fire.
- Do not leave the product in a state of charge long after the charging is completed. Such condition may cause smoking/ ignition.
- Charge battery at least once every six months even if the product is not use for an extended period of time. Over discharge may require battery replacement

How To use
Power on/off
- Press and hold for about 3 seconds Power on/off button, release the button when the led indicator will flash blue.
- In power on state, press and hold Power on/off button for about 6 seconds, release the button when the led indicator will flash red.
Pairing between BTSTART and Mobile phone/GPS sat nav.
- Place the BTSTART and the mobile phone in a visible area within 1 meter range.
- Make sure the Bluetooth Helmet Intercom headset is in power off state.
- Press and hold Power on/off Button (for about 8 seconds) until the led indicator flashes red and blue alternately. Now BTSTART is in pairing mode.
- Turn on the Bluetooth on your mobile phone and start searching for new device.
- Select “BTSTART” from the list to connect and if it prompts to enter password, enter <0000>. Once paired successful, LED Indicator will change from Blue/Red alternately to Blue flashing every 3 seconds. Now you can use the headset to answer you phone call, or enjoy the music from your mobile phone.
PS: Pairing password may be not necessary for some mobile.
FUNCTION OPERATIONS
Phone call

Answer incoming call
Short press Multi-function button or wait for about 10s and BTSTART will answer automatically. -
Reject incoming phone call
Press Multi-function button for about 2s to reject an incoming phone call. -
Hang up call
In call active state, press Multi-function button for 2s to hang up the call. -
Last number redial
Double press the volume – (down) button (only when headset is in standby state, or music play paused state.) -
Voice Dial
Double press the volume + (up) button (only when headset is in standby state, or music play paused state.)
(Note: please make sure your Mobile Phone supports Voice Dial feature.)
STEREO MUSIC

Pause/Play
Short press the Multi-function button once.
(Note: The above function requires the mobile phone supports Bluetooth A2DP and AVRCP) -
Play forward/backward
Press the volume + button to select next track, press the volume -button to select the previous track. -
If you have two mobile phone connected at the same time, press the Multi-functional Button once to pause the music, then long press the Multi-function button for about 2s to transfer to music of the other mobile, short press the Multi-function button once then the music of this mobile phone can be played.
PAIRING TWO BTSTART
If you want to use the Bluetooth® intercom feature, you have to pair two interphone together first.
Follow the instruction below:
- Keep two interphones within 1 meter when and make sure there is no other Bluetooth headsets in pairing mode.
- Press and hold Power on/off button of both Interphone BTSTART for about 8 seconds, until the led indicators of both units flash red and blue quickly and alternately, now they are in pairing mode. Then short press pairing button of one unit.
- Once paired, both led will become flashing blue slowly.

Turn on Bluetooth Intercom conference
To start an Intercom conversation, press in one of two paired BTSTART -
Turn off Bluetooth Intercom conference
During intercom conversation, short press INTERCOM button in one of two BTSTART. -
Volume control
To adjusting voice volume during the phone call state and Music playing state, just press and hold the volume + button to turn up the volume; press and hold the volume – button to turn down the volume. Release the Button till you feel good. When reaching the maximum or minimum volume, a tone will advise. The volume of each audio source can be individually tuned. -
Noise Dependent Volume Control
The Speaker volume will be automatically increased according to the noise level, and when the noise disappeared for a while, the volume automatically restores back to the original level.
FAQ: ?

Can not power on
It might low battery, please try again after charging for 3-4 hours, then plug and unplug the USB connector to reset the device. -
No sound
Please check if the speaker is correctly fixed, or the volume is too low. -
Speakers have echo
Maybe they are too close to the microphone, please move the speakers away from the microphone to a normal distance. -
Disconnect with mobile phone
Make sure if it is low battery, if not, the distance between the headset and mobile phone within 10m or between them exist obstacles that absorb frequency signals like metals or water? -
Can not pair with mobile phone
Clear all the pairing information according to user manual, and then put the headset and mobile phone together within 1m and try to pair after entering password 0000. -
Fail to connect with mobile phone
Please make sure the mobile phones support Bluetooth function and Bluetooth HFP, A2DP and AVRCP or other related protocols. -
Abnormal instruction of charging indicator
A. When the headset haven’t been used for long time or overused, it need to be pre-charge for an hour, then pull out and insert the charger, it will indicate normal charging. Please don’t count the pre-charging time into normal charging time.
B. Try another charging cable or charger. -
Whether or not support using while charging
No, we do not recommend to use while charging.
