DISCO32 PTT RETAINER
The DISCO32 PTT Retainer (Manufactured by Spiritus Systems) is capable of
securing all models of DISCO32 Push To Talk connectors. The Retainer features
gromets that enable the retainer to be used in either a left-or right hand
confi guration. It is small enough to be used on shoulder straps with MOLLE
webbing without causing discomfort to the operator. This guide will show you
how to properly assemble and install the retainer in both directions.
ASSEMBLING THE COMPONENTS
The DISCO32 PTT Retainer will come with the mounting bracket, one cord lock, and a pre-cut length of shock cord.
Make sure the cord lock is activated. If your barrel lock feels loose, fi rmly depress on the top of the lock untill you hear a snap and the button feels spring-loaded.
Secure both ends of the included shock cord with an overhand knot. Make sure the knot is at the end of the loop.
Slide the cord lock onto the base of the loop and depress the lock button as you slide it up to the base of the knot. Your shock cord is now prepped and ready to be installed on the PTT bracket.
INSTALLING THE RETAINER
The DISCO32 PTT Retainer is completely reversible. This section will go over all the steps needed to install the retaining bracket on a Spiritus Systems Fat Strap. However, the bracket will fi t under any standard piece of MOLLE webbing, or any piece of 1” tall fabric
Thread the shock cord loop through the top-most grommet on the anchor bracket.
Thread the shock cord through the bottom grommet on the anchor bracket.
Once both top and bottom grommets have been threaded, you must now decide which direction you want your PTT to face. Threading the next loop through the left grommet will orient the PTT button left. Threading it through the right grommet will orient the PPT button right.
Once the bracket is properly confi gured with your desired button orientation, you can now mount it using any webbing anchor.
NOTE: If you are not using Mil-STD MOLLE webbing, make sure the anchor is robust enough to withstand the added strain of an anchored PTT system.
Begin by placing the PTT retainer behind the desired anchor and positioning the top two loops above the webbing and the bottom loop below.
Then feed the PTT downlead though the bottom loop, the PTT button extension through the side loop, and fi nally, the top of the PTT though the top loop.
Once all three sections of the PTT have been secured through their respective loops tighten the whole retainer down by grasping the cord lock and pulling on the shock cord knot. This will simultaneously tighten all the loops and pull the PTT securely against the anchor. Secure the excess shock cord and connect the headset down lead. The PTT retainer is now fully installed.
