IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE AND SAVE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
- Remove any packaging material and promotional labels before using the citrus press for the first time.
- To avoid choking hazards for young children, remove and safely dispose the protective cover fitted on the power plug.
- Do not attempt to operate the citrus press by any method other than that it is intended and described in this booklet.
- Before using for the first time please ensure that your electricity supply is the same as shown on the rating label on the underside of the appliance. If you have any concerns please contact your local electricity company.
- Do not place citrus press near the edge of a bench or table during operation. Ensure the surface is level, clean and free of water, flour, etc. Vibration during operation may cause the appliance to move.
- Any significant spillage onto the surface under or around the appliance, or onto the appliance itself, should be cleaned and dried before continuing to use the appliance.
- Do not place this appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or where it could touch a heated oven.
- Always make sure the citrus press is properly assembled before use. The appliance will not operate unless properly assembled. Refer to assembly.
- Always ensure the citrus press is turned OFF by pressing the OFF button. Then switch the appliance OFF at the power outlet and unplug the cord if it is left unattended, not in use and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.
- Keep hands, fingers, hair, clothing as well as spatulas and other utensils away from the appliance during operation.
- Avoid placing hands or fingers near juicing press arm mechanism at rear of Motor base when moving Juicing Press Arm into the upright position.
- Keep the appliance clean. Refer to Care & Cleaning.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS FOR ALL ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES
- Unwind power cord fully before use.
- Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table, counter, touch hot surfaces or become knotted.
- To protect against electric shock do not immerse the power cord, power plug or appliance in water or any other liquid.
- This appliance is for household use only. Do not use this appliance for anything other than its intended use. Misuse may cause injury.
- In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut out this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device such as a timer or connected to a circuit that it regularly switched on and off by the utility.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, lack of experience and knowledge, or children unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children.
- Do not use the appliance if power cord, power plug or appliance becomes damaged in any way.
OPERATION
- Ensure the citrus press is correctly assembled, the juice spout is pressed down and a glass or jug is placed under the juice spout before juicing commences (see fig. 7 ).
- Cut the citrus fruit in half (see fig.8)
- Plug the power cord into a power outlet, then press ON/OFF button to ON (see fig. 9 ).
- Place a citrus fruit half onto the juice cone and position centre of fruit onto the spikes (see fig. 10 ).
- Grasp the soft-grip handle and slowly lower the juice press arm and press down firmly (see fig. 11 ).
- To automatically stop the motor, lift the juice press arm up and backward to its extended position. Push the juice spout up to stop drips. Remove the used fruit from the juicing cone. Empty excess pulp and seeds from stainless steel filter as required. Repeat Steps 3–6 to continue juicing (see fig. 12)
NOTE
The stainless steel filter should be emptied when full with pulp and seeds.
The filter can be emptied during juicing by turning the citrus press OFF at
the ON/OFF button and carefully removing the juicing cone and filter. Clean
and replace stainless steel filter and juicing cone before continuing to
juice. Do not allow stainless steel filter to overfill as this may prevent
correct operation or damage the unit.
CARE & CLEANING
Ensure the citrus press is turned off by pressing the ON/OFF button. Then switch the appliance off at the power outlet and unplug the cord.
CLEANING
- Remove juicing dome from handle by pushing button (see fig. 13 )
- Take assembly to sink (see fig. 14 ).
For easy cleaning immediately after each use rinse removable parts under warm soapy water or wash on the top shelf of the dishwasher. Motor base and juice press arm should be washed with a soft damp cloth. All parts should be dried thoroughly before reassembling.
STORAGE
Store your cleaned and reassembled citrus press in an upright position in a cool, dry place. Do not place any items on top of the citrus press while stored.
TROUBLESHOOTING
IF THE CITRUS PRESS DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY
- Switch not in the ON position
- Juice Press Arm not lowered
- Juicing cone or fruit dome not assembled properly
- Stainless Steel Filter not assembled properly
