Sequence of Steps
Prep and Layout
- The first step is to lay out a soft blanket to protect your pieces and keep them organized.
- Unpack the box that your Prinsu Rack came in and confirm that you received all of the hardware and bracketry listed above.
- Now take all of the black bolts and prep them with a black washer and a drop of Vibra-tite.
- Next bolt the front side rail to the rear side rail using the side rail connector bracket make sure to use the top two holes and the Torque bolts. Just snug them up don’t over-tighten.
- Install the mounting feet to the appropriate side rail. The brackets are labeled as such only mount the DM, DR, PM, and PR feet for now.
- Df-driver side front, DM-driver middle, DR-driver rear, PF-passenger front, PM-passenger middle, PR-passen-ger rear. Only mount the DM, DR, PM, and PR feet for now.
- Repeat on the other set of side rails.
Mounting Rack to the Vehicle
- Locate the plastic covers on your factory rack, there should be two on each side.
- Take a flathead screwdriver and pry the covers off like the photo below.
- Remove the factory bolt in all four locations.
- Apply some black RTV silicone into the exposed roof holes and Install the supplied mounting block with the longer M8 Bolt in the holes where you just removed the factory bolts.
- Now hold the appropriate side rails in place (side rails will be installed on the outside of the factory roof rack rails) and mount to the blocks using the shorter M8 bolts with some Vibra-Tite applied.
- Repeat on both sides
- Now you can start installing the cross bars into the smaller slots in the side rails. Cross bars will be mounted using the Torque head bolts. Start all bolts by hand and tighten down with a T-30.
- Now we can install the DF, and PF mounting feet. Clean the area where the 3m tape will contact the roof and the mounting foot.
- Apply 3m tape to the bottom of the mounting foot
- Line up the mounting holes adhere the foot to the roof and install the mounting bolts in the side rail.
- The silver-colored crossbar will be installed on the wind deflector. Slide 5 T nuts into the top channel and 5 into the bottom channel and line them up with the holes in the wind deflector.
- Set the wind deflector on top of the silver cross bar and line up the holes with the nuts.
- Start the Phillips head bolts, once all the bolts are started tighten them down.
- Now install noise-reducing trim onto the wind deflec-tor and trim off the excess.
- The wind deflector is now ready to be installed onto the vehicle.
- Double-check the alignment of the rack and make sure all bolts have been tightened down.
