Using Bluetooth

Bluetooth Connection
Tap the host device to logo on the left side of the printer. Follow the Bluetooth pairing instructions for your smart device to connect to the 9486 Printer. When connecting with the 9486 Printer via Bluetooth your smart device should list:

  1. Device Name: 9486
  2. Password Default: 0000

Bluetooth Troubleshooting

  •  To connect the printer with a Bluetooth device, the devices must be within 328 feet (100 meters) of one another. The connection can be lost if the distance between devices exceeds 328 feet (100 meters).
  •  If cement walls or other obstacles are present, the connection distance is reduced.
  •  Transmission can be interrupted if a device (such as a microwave oven, wireless LAN, etc.) that uses the same frequency is in the area. Separate the printer and Bluetooth-enabled device from such interrupting devices by at least 16 feet (5 meters).

Cleaning the Printer

  • Use caution when cleaning the printer.
  •  Turn the printer off before cleaning.
  •  Wait 2-3 minutes after power-off to allow the printer to cool.
  •  Do not to touch the heating region of the printhead with your hand while cleaning.
  •  The printhead can be damaged by static electricity.
  •  Avoid scratching the printhead.
  •  Recommended cleaning period is after consuming four rolls of supply, or approximately once a week. Print quality may be degraded or printhead life may be shortened if it is not cleaned periodically.

Cleaning the Exterior

  • Clean the printer’s exterior using an Isopropyl Alcohol and deionized water mixture; we recommend premoistened wipes.

  • Do not use other detergents/cleansers, they can deteriorate plastics and cause printer failure.

  • Do not spray liquids on the printer, it can get inside and damage electronics.

  • Improper cleaning methods and materials can cause failures, which are not covered under warranty.
    Cleaning the Interior
If the interior of the printer is dusty, print quality can decline. Follow the instructions below to clean the inside of the printer.

    •  Open the paper cover and remove the supply, if present.
    •  Clean the printhead using a cotton swab dampened with isopropyl alcohol.
    •  Using the cotton swab soaked and dampened with isopropyl alcohol to clean the sensor.
