Introduction

For your home theatre or entertainment system, the Monolith Audio Stand is a four-shelf A/V stand. The open-air design allows for maximum circulation and quick access to connections, while the satin polished shelves are solid and durable. Tubular steel pillars give exceptional strength and rigidity, allowing even the heaviest components to be supported. The Monolith Audio stand is ideal for organizing and displaying your audiovisual components.

What’s In their Box?

  • Audio Stand

The construction is solid

A scratch-resistant black powder coat coating is applied to four steel support tubes. The smooth surface on the solid MDF shelves is easy to clean and resists scratches and scuffs. Each shelf is soundproof and can hold up to 75 pounds.

Design in the Open Air

The open-air shelving on the stand allows for crucial airflow, cooling, and easy access to your components. Unlike other enclosed AV cabinets, its strong construction ensures that your equipment gets plenty of circulating air, preventing it from overheating while in operation.

Design that is modular

The fully customizable modular design allows you to create your rack to the precise height you require. Begin by constructing the foundation and then adding as many of the four shelves as you require. One pair of steel support tubes is longer, enabling higher components to be accommodated on one layer of the stand.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How tall is this?
    approx. 30 to 32inches tall.

  2. Can it be modified so that the height reduces to make it smaller if I only use 3 shelves?
Yes, you can choose to use 2, 3, or 4 shelves. I have it 3 shelves high myself.

  3. How high are the legs, how much space do you have underneath?
Just shy of 5.75” underneath. the Next 2 shelves are 7”, and then 8.75” for the 3rd. Underneath will depend on how much the pointed feet are screwed in.

  4. I would like to add an extra stand, is Monolith able to sell the extra stand, as Pangea does?
Yes, you can. It would be quite easy to.

  5. Is this rack compatible with the Monolith 124795 amplifier/component stand?
    Yes it is.

  6. Can you leave off the bottom legs? I would like to set this on a table?
You could but you would have to buy additional hardware and even then the bottom shelf wouldn’t be flush with the table. I wouldn’t recommend it.

  7. Could i use the monolith 4 tier/shelf audio stand item model number 127678 and monolith 124795 to make two stands?
This is the best audio stand for the money. Excellent quality. I don’t think you can make 2 stands based on the parts that come with the stand. But you can call the customer rep to see if they can sell you extra parts.

  8. I need to put it in front of my screen but the height exceeds, can I make it smaller if I only use 3 shelves?
I cant think of any reason you couldn’t skip the top tier for a shorter stand. I don’t think the construction would prevent a shorter build.

  9. Can you replace the pointed feet at the bottom of the rack with standard casters (like 5/16” W X 1” H)?
The spikes screw into the threaded fixture and appear to be 3/16″ but had difficulty measuring in a tight space. I don’t think that your roller casters will work.

  10. Can I remove the bottom two shelves and assemble it with only to top two?
I believe you can be based on looking at the one I purchased. But it’ll make it a bit top-heavy and can then be unstable. It depends on what you’ll be putting on the top of it.

  11. What is the vertical measurement between shelves?
From bottom up, the measurements are the following: 4.7”, 7.2″, 7.2″, and 8.8″.

  12. Can you use only two shelves and not all four?
Yes – the unit is completely modular – just stack the 2 shelves the support tubing is threaded on both ends and screw in top caps on top of 2nd shelf and there you have it – 2 shelve units instead of 4.

  13. What are the spikes on the legs? We have hardwood floors, and this seems like it would damage the floor?
The spikes screw into insert caps on the bottom legs. The spikes provide stability for carpeted floors but they will damage wood floors and make the unit unstable on a tile floor. You don’t have to use the spike, the insert caps will provide some protection from the metal legs but you may also want to add some of those fuzzy stickers like you can put on the feet of chairs.

  14. What is the widest component that will fit on the shelves?
The shelves measure 24” wide by 16.5” deep – most modern components are smaller than that my power amp measures 17” by 14” – fits nicely.

  15. What is the gap between the post? Length wise and depth wise?
Gap between posts length-wise is 19-1/4 inches. The depth gap is 12-1/4 inches.

  16. If I buy 2 could I make it 6 shelves?
Yes, you can. I bought two myself and made 5 shelf units. It would have been 6 but I left one shelf board out to accommodate a turn table.

  17. Is there an expansion kit available from the manufacturer?
I didn’t see one- but being it’s modular you could add shelves from a second kit – they make a monolith amp stand that is 2 shelves the bottom of which is made to hold very heavy amplifiers – I’ve combined that one with my 4 tier unit.

  18. Why can it only support 75 lbs when all the Monolith amps weigh closer to 100?
This particular stand is only rated at 75 lbs per shelf – this manufacturer makes a 2-shelf unit that is rated for more weight – I own both – they are modular so the shelves can be interchanged – I use the weightier “amp” shelve from the 2 shelf unit on the bottom for my power amp and have the four shelves from the other unit above it for components.

  19. I can use only three and not all 4 shelves? in a 3-shelf configuration?
Yes, you should be able to. I left one shelf out and put two legs together to have extra room to open the lid on my turn table thereby making a 3 shelf unit.
