FIRECOM KAA0616 Mobile Radio Cable Instruction Manual

KAA0616 Installation Instructions

Equipment/Hardware Required

a. KAA0616 KNG-M FireCom Interface Cable Assy.
b. Model 110 Radio Communication System.
c. FH-51 Wired Over the Head Radio Transmit.
d. HM-10 or PP-20 Wired Headset Connection.

B. Initial Steps

a. Follow the FireCom Model 110 Radio Communication System Installation and Operation Manual to connect all the FireCom components. See Figure 2.
b. Connect the KAA0616 Interface Cable Assy to the KNG-M mobile radio DB25 Accessory connector.
c. Connect the DB9 end of KAA0616 Cable Assy to the FireCom 110 radio interface jack. See Fig.1 below.

Note: There is no special programming setup for the radio.

C. Operation

a. With the headset volume control adjusted to minimum, adjust the RX potentiometer audio input range to desired minimum headset volume. (Refer to Figure 1).
b. Adjust the headset volume control to the user preferred volume level.
c. If the volume is still not enough, adjust the RX potentiometer audio input range to the required operating volume.
d. Once the headset audio is adjusted, the KNG-M volume control can be independently adjusted if a radio external speaker is connected.
e. If necessary, adjust the TX audio deviation from the interface box to a level acceptable to the operator. (Refer to the FireCom Model 110 Operation Manual).
f. The headset has a PTT switch and a volume control. (Please refer to the manufacturer’s Operation Manual).
g. Please refer to Figure 2 for overall connection diagram.
